BEWARE!! Did you know that if you need a generic antibiotic for your pet that humans also take, such as amoxicillian, that you could get a written prescription from the vet to go to Schnucks and get it for free? (I believe Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, and Sam’s Club has these generic prescription programs too). We didn’t know this until, Karen (one of the vet techs), was forced to let the cat out of the bag about it after my husband threw a fit about charging us more money after our 15 year old dog had surgery a few days ago to remove a tumor from her leg. They charged another $13 to take the staples out and rewrap her leg with a new bandage, which I was told by Megan, another vet tech, was suppose to be included as part of the surgery charges that we originally paid which was over $200. She also needed more amoxicillian at this time in case of infection, and they changed us another $32.00 for that. Dr. Stufflebean has been a great supporter of rescue for many years. She has helped numerous animals for low compensation. She does some procedures, like eye enucleations, better than almost anyone I've seen. Animals love her, and the staff is very good, too. They care about animals.

Dr. Pam is the one to see if you have a choice. Dr. Karen is not good with people.

My cat needed surgery to repair a hematoma on her ear. After the stitches were removed we called the vet repeatedly about the odd appearance of her ear and were told time and again that everything we described about the appearance of the ear and wound was normal, by staff and by the vets. When we finally insisted on coming in, the vet on duty grasped the edge of the scab and (with no warning), yanked it, and the top third of my cat's ear came off with it. Then she told us that some people do that to their cats on purpose. I spent over $200 trying to save my cats ear and they blew off my concerns and then tore it off themselves. I am very unhappy with this practicioner and consider the office to be unprofessional, insensitive, and quite possibly incompetent. I will never take any animal I own to this facility ever again.
