My cat was previously seen by a wonderful vet who left when the clinic became part of VCA. At VCA, Dr. Scrutin was his vet. We were told our cat had a heart murmur and paid a lot of money for ultrasounds. We brought him to the clinic at one point for puncture wounds and was told he was bitten. When we brought our cat in for a checkup one June, we told the vet he was disinterested in going outside, was losing weight, and we were told he was getting old. By the end of October, he was getting worse. We brought him back and were again told the same thing. Now, we decided to get a second opinion. Luckily, we took him to the Dr Cosinini in Wellesley, where he felt him and suggested an X-ray. He immediately told me about the abdominal mass and it could be easily felt. Surely it was there two weeks before. There was no sign of murmur. He had cancer. Also seen were bbs where the previous puncture wounds were. Our cat eventually passed. VCA sent appt. notices for 4 years. Never called once. Mone

I will never go elsewhere when it comes to my children (aka our cats and dogs) health. Rotherwood staff go above and beyond my expectation when it comes to my pets. They treated them like they were a part of their own family. When out beloved Buddy passed away we received a beautiful boquet of flowers and a card that alone made us smile. Every member of their staff have been more than helpful! We love Dr Klaus and her technician kelly they are absolutely wonderful people who exude their passion for our furry family members and the knowledge to see to it they continue being the healthiest/happiest they can be. I highly recommend vca rotherwood to everyone near and far!

VCA cared for my cat for years. This past summer they recommended that she have her teeth cleaned under anesthesia. Since she had a long standing heart problem, they recommended that I have an echocardiogram done by their cardiologist, Dr. Neil Harpster. Dr. Harpster bragged to my husband about his experience and professional standing. He was rushed and while he noted in the records that he found significant heart abnormalities, he didn't bother to tell us. Instead he told us it was safe to proceed. Three weeks later she suffered congestive heart failure and had to be euthenized two weeks after that. I still cry over how much she suffered and how much I miss her. VCA is a publicly traded company that is driven by the need to make their quarterly numbers. I trusted them and my cat died because this. When I complained, VCA responded by telling me that it was my fault that my cat died. If you care about your pet, you would do well to avoid VCA.

They're good for regular shots and check-ups, but don't trust them for anything serious. They mis-diagnosed my dog for 2 years! They're also on the expensive side and will add on services that are not necessary.
