I'm not very happy at all with the services we were provided for my two cats we adopted from the humane society. Pine Ridge seems to prefer dogs to cats and throw their hands up in the air when there are issues - they act like they don't care or don't know. I received NO ADVISE for my poor kitty with a heart murmur - unfortunately she passed away on my couch last night. My kitten had issues with his eye and we were NEVER referred to a vetrinary eye doctor. HORRIBLE! We took the kitten to Plymouth Heights Pet Hospital for a second opinion and got a referral to an eye doctor right away, no BS, just great caring vets and techs there. Unfortunately, Pine Ridge seems to get offended if a little fur gets on their floor. They are more concerned with their facilities than their patients.

I think the vets are knowledgable, however they do not eliminate the obvious by running routine tests. They move immediately to the most expensive tests and a complete set of ex-rays. After being presented with a $1,200 bill they still did not have any idea what was wrong with our pet, but were willing to schedule more expensive tests and ex-rays. We have been taking our pets there for almost 20 years and before they built the new clinic they provided excellent services and care for our animals. Now it seems to be more about the money than caring for the animal. I fear the animals will be the ones to suffer as a result of this. They are very over priced we can no longer afford to take our pets there. I am sad this has happened.

Very high tech equiptment and complete work is done, but they seem to be inflexible about alternative options. As a non-practicing vet-tech, I asked for a small procedure to be done in a way I was comfortable with and that met all standards. They would only do it a certain way. Very small surgical procedure that they were requiring EKG, IV fluids, pluse-ox, extensive blood work, etc. Could have easily been done with a local and a stitch or 2. Also have to say that I end up waiting 20 minutes or longer when I show up on time for my appointment. Prices are high for routine procesures, I think because they do a lot of stuff in house, but again...give us options and sending your blood to Marshfield like most other clinics is acceptable.
