They will try to rip you off. Example my little dog had a rash. My husband brought him in to get looked at and was told he must have a thyroid problem and needs 500$ in tests. He explained we just has new carpeting installed vet still insisted on his thyroid. All tests came back fine my dog had dermatitis and we ended up paying over $600 for it. Ridiculous. Go somewhere else.

A few months ago my dog became gravely ill. He was very close to giving up and unfortunately so was I due to the high rates at the emergency clinics. Then I called Mill Plain and they gave me an appointment right away, I went in for a quote to help my dog. The price went from a 5000.00 quote at most hospitals to un 1000.00. I couldn't believe my ears! They spoke with me honestly about the treatment and made me aware of what could happen. They began treatment right away and though it was a long process to get this horrible infection under control my dog now has a new lease on life! I will never go to another vet, they saved my best friends life and I am eternally grateful! The caring staff answered all my questions and helped me along with my dog! Wonderful people!

Dr. Steinmetz is the best vet in the state! He saved our cat's life more than once, and even gave him free care when the bill was too much for us to handle. He never does unnecessary tests, and is caring, compassionate, and capable. After going to Mill Plain Vet Clinic for over 10 years, we moved out of the area, and couldn't find a vet of his caliber. We're now going back, even though it's a 1 1/2 hour drive each way. It's worth it for the love and care our cats get.

you want to ask as many questions as you can. The owner sounds like a used car salesman

The Doctors are fantastic. Dr. Steinmetz is the best surgeon in the area. We have always received great service. If they're late...it's because an emergency backed them up. They will drop everything to try to save your pet in an emergency. It's worth the extra wait - there is usually a good reason and some day it may be your pet that they're giving all the extra time to. We've found that they won't add unneeded tests but they will try to cover all the bases. If the outlook isn't good...they'll let you know. Price is the same all around our area - nothing is cheap but that's Fairfield County! The staff is awesome and friendly. Not everyone is certified but you'll find that is the case at any clinic you go to. We've been to many different vets before we found this one and we've been with Mill Plain Vet now for over 15 years!

overpriced and the front office staff can be rude at times. You can wait up to over an hour and some of the techs are not licensed and you are given the impression that they are. They do not have after hour emergency care and their boarding is considered small cages and making more money than what they offer for your pet care. Before boarding ask to go back and actually see where your pet will be. You will be surprised.

My bill was almost $1000.00 and I still don"t know what is wrong with my dog. I left her there for the day for test and when she came home she could not drink enough water. I believe test were done and then she was just left in a cage without caring for her needs.
