I called for a refill on pain medication for my hemangio dog and they refused to fill it because the other office was "busy" and my vet was on vacation. A new vet couldn't prescribe for a dog they had not examined, and I was on orders not to put him in the car because he was trying to clot from a tumor bleed on his spleen. They put me in a terrible situation with no good choice and my dog bled out. It would have taken a vet at their other office (co-owned by the vet that originally prescribed for him) about 5 minutes to review his chart, see what he was given and why, and prescribe a refill. I was with that clinic for 40 some years and liked the vet, but what happened while he was on vacation was unforgivable.
