I have been taking my cat to Advanced Vet Clinic for six years (every since we adopted her). I always see Dr. Bill Benson. Dr. Benson always explains everything to me. He is thorough and caring. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who has a pet that they want to receive the best of care. Joyce Overbeck-Geller

I took two dogs here for surgery in less than a month and both times the experience was great. The doctors are very thorough in their explanations of what is going to occur, what did and what still needs to happen. I have absolutely no complaints and their pricing really is not terrible at all. I remember telling some folks what we paid because they inquired and was told it was actually a really great cost. Overall I would absolutely use them again!

Over the last few years we have seen the care of our animals going downhill with each passing visit. We were initially very happy with this place, but then red flags came up and we had to question every move that was being made with our animals. From walking hospitalized and boarded dogs on a parking lot facing a busy street, to a night technician telling us she was afraid to call the head Vet about a post operative complication with our dog for fear of him getting mad, to being told that a surgical procedure could not be performed but was by another Vet, was when we knew it was time to find another doctor. the place has changed and we feel not for the good. We will never go back and would rather drive 25 miles just so our pets get the care they deserve.

This is a very overpriced vet. They run many tests which are not needed. $600 bill for diagnosing an intestinal parasite. They even called 3 days later to add to the bill for yet another test. They will extract as much money as possible from every visit. Beware.

I live in Dundalk, and anytime my dogs need more than a cursory examination or shots--Dr. Benson is the man to whom I go. I've been dealing with Dr. Benson for 15 years. It's 32 miles one-way--but Dr. Benson is one of the most brilliant Vets I've ever met. Dr. Benson goes to great lengths to provide value to his clients and their dogs. Can't say enough good things about him.

My dog looked very sick and it was after hours so I took the 5 minute drive to this place. I was there for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by the 3 staff members there. They seemed to be dealing with an irate client at the time. I started to complete the registration form and noticed that it felt like I was completing a credit application (not sure why all the personal info was needed). Anyway, I started to walk out and half way out the door, one of the employees finally asked how i could be helped. I just wanted my dog seen and so i decided to go back in. I was told flat out that i needed to provide all of the personal info(including my DL #). Not even my regular Vet has this. I even offered to pay cash and they still would not see my dog. I walked out and glad i did. I called mountain side(regular vet) and they saw my that same evening. What was i thinking. This place seems like a scam as i am not sure whey they require all of your personal information.

Worst vet experience. Our dog was spayed horribly. She will be scarred for life. When picking her up, she was excited and were concerned she was too excited. Even w/apprehension,no suggestions were made. She blew stitches. Another vet we found said even in her excited state, that would not have happened if the surgery was done correctly& stitches properly sewn.Advanced redid internal stitches& finally gave us sedatives. I asked for anti-biotics,she had been opened 2x, response was-if she gets infection, return.I felt my dog was a dollar sign to them. She did develop infection right away, stitches were coming apart. The vet we went to for a 2nd opinion said he had never seens such a sloppy job. When I called Advanced, I was told this was MY faught. The vet we now go to said there was nothing we did, nothing the dog did to sustain such a mess. It was all the vets. Never Again will I go to this vet. I had to rate 1 star to post this review...they deserve none! Pet Owners Beware!

This vet is currently under investigation by the Maryland Department of Veterinary Examiners. STAY AWAY!!! After my pet died in May 2009, they sent out a final bill. Then, in Aug 2009, I just learned from one of the investigators, they created a fraudently charge of $436 and sent it to collections. I just learned today that they charged me for my other pet that has NEVER been there. They grabbed her name from records that were faxed in the clinic. Now, the investigation has moved to a new level, as there is now fraud involved. MY WARNING to you is that if you get involved with these people, do so at your own detriment!! They have one goal on their mind and that is to drain your bank account. When I got their August 2009 statement, I immediately filed a complaint with the Maryland Attorney General's Office. They will smile with you when you first go there, BUT WATCH OUT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG!! Try to find an ethical, honest, and caring vet rather than thes people!!!

My dog just passed away from kidney failure as the result of undiagnosed Lymes disease. I was a client at Advanced and had taken my dog several times over the past year for lameness, with no diagnosis ever given. Finally I went to another vet in the area. I was asked if she had ever been tested for Lymes and I said "no". Immediately they tested her for Lymes, she was + .... but it was too late. Damage to her kidneys was irreversable. I will NEVER take another pet there. EVER.

I cannot say enough good words about Dr. Benson, Dr. Hawkins and the staff. My Fauxy pomeranian is alive today becuase of the amazing care he received here. I am indebted to Dr. Benson for saving his life. The techs, Elaine and Danielle were so compassionate and sweet and sincerely caring. I am so thankful that I was referred to the clinic.

although the staff at the desk are very nice...The groomer linda janey-knight has caused injury to my dogs, and never told us about the injury. i understand this can happen BUT to not tell us, and get him and find a heavy gash in my dogs sides is unexceptable!!
He had to go back and have the area glued together, sent home and the area came open, then took him back because the area was infected had to get antibotics and then stitched! NEVER WILL I EVER TAKE ANY OF MY ANIMALS HERE AGAIN..NOT EVEN FOR BOARDING.....

I have always had a great experience here. We have had surgery on our Lab done by Dr. Benson and were pleased with the results and follow up by Dr. Benson. We used Main Stree Vet and really like Dr. Molesworth but finally got fed up with the inordinate wait times, it seemed towards the end that our appointment was usually at least a half hour delayed, and less than polite staff. I have almost always been taken on time by Dr. Benson and his staff and really appreciate the professionalism of his staff.
