The clinic wasn’t very clean the waiting room wasn’t very clean the staff must learn how to sanitize it properly so the net animal don’t pick up any parasites like my dog did the last time he was in there so I’m gonna be very blunt please sanitize after every animal goes it to the exam rooms the floors were very dirty the exam table wasn’t sanitized please pay close attention to making sure it’s sanitary every time

I went to the vet because my cat had suddenly become very picky and was refusing to eat many of her foods even when I switched variety.
I went to the vet (the young female vet) for them to tell me she's having gastrointestinal problems/may be allergic to her food, and so prescribed me some hypoallergenic food. I came home to feeding her this, and have her still reject it, and so I did a google search on what it could possibly be and the first thing that came up was teeth problems.
I then had to call the vet and asked them to check her teeth, something that should have been done immediately knowing that she was suddenly refusing to eat her food. I had a different vet this time (the older male vet), who checked her teeth, then proceeded to ask ME ,"so it's gingivitis right?". When I asked for treatment options, he then proceeded to tell me to GOOGLE the possible alleviations and treatment results??
Overall, would not recommend.

If you love your pet keep searching!!! After working for Central City Animal Hospital for just a short time...i witnessed several upsetting incidents and unprofessional conduct towards cats by the owner and veterinarian at this location.

my cat got an infection and needed care. due to miscommunication at this clinic my cat was given 4 times the safe dose of medication and as a result is now blind. go ANYWHERE else!! worst part ....not once did the vet phone to say sorry or to enquire as to the cat's well being

After years of going to another vet in New Westminster on the stellar recommendations of friends I tried Central City. I have never gone back to my previous vet since. Dr. Dhaliwal is the most gentle and compassionate man I have ever entrusted my beloved pets to. His skill as a surgeon and ability to diagnose on exam alone are second to none. His support staff are true pet lovers who have hugged and cried with me many times as I've left my furbabies in their very expert loving care, especially Nikki who insisted on me calling her at home any time day or night when there's been a crisis. I can't give high enough honors to this team of professionals, they are simply the best. Thank you doesn't even begin to cover how grateful I am to them and how much I and all my family trust them with our cherished pets.

The staff here are absolutely amazing. Dr. Dwahliwal is concise, honest and above and beyond friendly with your pet. I cannot emphasize enough the amount of positive energy that comes from the staff. The vet techs here are wonderful and helpful people. I would not feel my pup could be in the best hands unless it was with them. Highly recommended.

We have always found Dr. Dhaliwal and the staff, especially Niki to be compassionate, knowlegeable and helpful. We recently had to have our pet put down and they were more than caring. Thank you!

Worse experience ever. Based on other vet assessment I was overcharged & they took advantage of my emotions when I brought my dog in . Sends xrays to Texas to be read..WHY All the vets I spoke with said this is extremely unusual & expense.The place is a money grabbing clinic & the vet lacks compassion. He is very cold & hard to understand as his english is not very good. Go anywhere else but there PLEASE

The best place I have found. Respectable to me and my cats. Very fair pricing. Has helped me manage my medical rescue cat, and taught me how to take car of my cat to avoid constant trips to the vet and costs.

I have been using this hospital for years. The doctors have been fantastic and receptionist are very personable. I have used them for rescue and personal animals so have had multiple experiences. Yes Dr D can be hard to understand but it's very clear he cares about my animals. I have never been disappointed with the services I have received and the cost has always been fair.

Dr.Dhaliwal is a very good vet. We'd been advised by others to have our little dog's ACL repaired and waited a while to book. When Dr. Dhaliwal examined and xrayed our pet it was apparent to him that the operation would not help her condition. So he called us to advise the surgery be cancelled, and that other options be explored. He explained things very clearly, sent us the X-rays so we could have them for our files. His staff was super warm, caring and friendly as well. The clinic is immaculate. We are very impressed by the service we got at this vet. I highly recommend Dr.Dhaliwal. He's caring competent professional and very knowledgable. He went out of his way to sent our dogs X-ray to another vet for a second opinion on what could be done to help our pooch, but also explained that this other option would be much more invasive. Bully Buddies recommended this vet to us and we are very grateful for the referral.

My little guy(kitty)has been to Dr.Dhaliwal a couple of times now.I have to say our experience BOTH times were top rate! Dr.Dhaliwal is clearly everything a Doctor should be.He put a very distressed pet and owner at ease immediately with his obvious sincerity and compassion.It was through word of mouth that I came to know of him.He truly has lived up to his VERY good reputation.He asks in advance for a deposit.When I went to take my kitty home I had forgotten that I had done this and the receptionist didn't know either,we were getting into our car to leave and Dr.Dhaliwal came rushing out and called us to come back,to reimburse us for over payment.SO he is on top of everything else, also HONEST.He will be our Doctor for as long as we have pets!

I took my cat here as she was having problems with her eye, the doctor did a eye test and took me that she had a ulcer, the last vet i went to don't do anything. i am so happy to have found this vet. also the person at the front desk was very helpful too he helped me clean her up when she had a accient, i would recommend this vet to anyone

In all honesty I don't like all the front desk ppl but Nikkei is an amazing women and a lot of help ever time iv called or shown up she take my Edward whos a cat in right away, she explains things to me and is more them helpful unlike the other desk ppl that work there they make me feel like I'm a bad mom to my kitty, its aways clean and my cat loves going in to see Dr. Dhaliwal he's very kind sweet and loving to my cat and he's kind to me as well he explains things all the way through weather its on the phone or face to face, I have trouble trusting vets but he's the only one iv ever been happy to leave my pets with without me there, I had my cats teeth cleaned I was told by a different vet that it could cost $700-$1000 because Edward needed teeth taken out Dr.Dhaliwal did it all for $250 with out taken any of my 12 year old cats teeth out I don't have a lot of money I never have but Dhaliwals prices are doable and half the time when I bring my cat in he doesn't charge for the visit

Don't let the look of this place fool you. It's an older hospital, but it has modern equipment, the staff are knowledgeable, and most important, Dr, Dhaliwal puts his patient's needs in front of cost: you don't pay for the bells and whistles, you pay for the care your pet deserves, and Dr. Dhaliwal answers any questions you have: He even comes to the phone to answer questions and offer advice on pet care. This animal hospital doesn't do unnecessary procedures, or "advise" you that you get medicines, or products that you don't need or want. Our pet had to undergo a fairly serious surgical procedure, and Dr. Dhaliwal, along with his staff, helped us get through a very trying time and didn't make us feel stupid with the million questions that we asked. All in all, Dr. Dhaliwal, his staff, and his practise are one of the best kept secrects in the Lower Mainland.

I love Dr. Dhaliwahl, He is in it for the love of animals and very caring to the animals. I have had two major emergencies for two different dogs and when I called they took them in both times immediately and took care of them without the outrageous vet bills. In fact, when one of my dogs was very ill, the assistant to Dr. Dhaliwahl mentioned blood work and he said it was not nessesary as he knew what the condition of my dog was. Not only that he allowed me to be in the room with my dog and himself. He is awesome and I give him 10 stars out of 5!!! Keep up the great work and I will always reccomend him.

I like Dr.Dhaliwal - he's a good doctor and a genuinely nice person. He is hard to understand at times, but I've gotten used to it over the years. He's been good to our cats over the years and reasonably priced.

I totally agree with the last comment. Dr.Dhaliwal is an amazing doctor and very good at what he does. But the staff, they need to have better attitudes for sure. The older receptionist in the mornings, is very rude and makes me not want to go there. Dr.Dhaliwal does deserve better staff. I would go there more if the staff changed.

I have been here a few times and the service I get is so different each time. I haven't been back for awhile, since I switched to a more consistent veterinarian. I have to say that Dr. Dhaliwal is amazing. There is no other vet in the district that is as attentive as he is. If you're really unlucky, you will get the other doctor, who seems to only be out to get your money, ordering tests that aren't necessary and suggesting treatments that would cost you much more. The staff during the evening is pleasant enough but not during the morning. The older receptionist in the morning is quite rude at times and demeaning. Overall, its a good deal of a veterinary clinic and Dr. Dhaliwal really deserves a better clinic with better staff.

We took our dog here to be neutered and have his dew claws removed. We assumed Dr. Daliwal would perform the operation, he is the vet who was recommended to us and who we liked. A different new vet performed the operation and did a terrible job of removng our dogs dew claws. He also ran out of the clinic after the operation so he did not have to talk to us. He did not leave enough skin to cover over the wounds and did not remove all of the bones, as is standard practice. His feet were infected and in pain for 3 months. Although Dr. Daliwal gave us some of our money back he would not admit that anything was wrong. We took our dog to another vet (metrotown) who explained how poorly the surgery had been done and showed us how 6 months later there were still stiches in his feet that had not been removed. Dr Daliwal does good work but I was really put off at how he covered up for the other vet and would not tell us what was really wrong with our dog.

Got me in late in the evening even though I was a few minutes late for the appointment. Did a very thorough examination, more thorough than any other vet I've taken my beloved kitty Tessa to. Ordered only the necessary blood work and then only when he couldn't discern the problem from a physical exam. He also gave Tessa sub-q fluids without charging me (most vets charge around $100 for that alone). Most importantly, he and his staff took the time to listen to me and clearly explained what my options were and how much they'd cost, even when I was a sputtering wreck. He also worked with me on the payment when another vet refused to even though it was a small amount of money. To cap it off, his fees are reasonable - I've been to vets who charge 3-4 times what he does. Dr. D is definitely worth the drive to South Burnaby/New West! One thing - contrary to what the profile says, he does NOT work on birds.

They fixed my cat after an abcess burst on his head, he was pretty sick. They were very friendly, fast, and did and excellent job on my 18 year old cat. Didn't overcharge me. Very satisified, saved my cat.

Dr.Dhaliwal is the kindest vet Ive ever encountered, and is really in it for the animals. Although he may be difficult to understand, he always takes phonecalls and returns phonecalls when wanted.

Dr Dhaliwal is very kind and caring. His fees are on the lower end and the staff are good. I have used many vets before ( long time animal owner ) and I think he's the most considerate to the animals .

I have been going to this clinic for a long time. There is a new staff member there that I don't care too much for as she can come off rude. I have always been treated well there and the staff can usually fit me in for an appointment within a day or so if it isn't an emergency. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Dhaliwal there, he really does it for the animals and not for the money.

I had my pyppy neutered there in Jan and I was not at all impressed. They are very understaffed, I had to wait quite a while just to drop him off & pick him up. The kennels they put the animals in were completely rusty! I brought him to another vet a few wks later for something else & they asked me where I brought him to as the stitches they put in were the wrong kind to use. It makes me wonder what else they did. Not at all impressed and wouldn't go back or recommend them.

When my dog escaped from the backyard, the pound took my dog to Central City. Not only does my dog have a tattoo, but she also has a microchip. Before calling me, they went ahead gave pain medication and did a bunch x-rays - then they called me. So, they had my phone number but went ahead and did all that without my consent and my vet said that they gave her way too much medication for a dog double her size. Then they wouldn't let me have my dog back until I paid the bill!

I had a horrible experience at this vet. I took my puppy in to be neutered. After he awoke from surgery, he was biting thecrate and ended up completely pulling his k-9 tooth right out by the root. Now tell me who was monitoring him while he was waking. I was and still am not impressed by this. I did not recieve an apology or any sort of compinsation. Now my odg has one of his major teeth missing. I would not recommend this vet,and will never bring any of my animals there again

This vet although difficult to understand at times, DOES come to the phone and explains, which is more than I can say about other vets who either pass info onto reception OR do NOT return/acknowledge a concerned call at all!(e.i. Surrey Animal Hospital ignores all calls once the pet is tended to) Dr. D. also treats feral cats when other vets are hesitant to.
