Dr. Hartney is no longer working there. He was really good and we took our pets there for over 12 years. Since he broke his ankle, there has only been fill ins. One relief vet Dr. Dirk, is very nice, helpful, knowledgeable and empathetic. The culture in that workplace has always been on the rude and non-empathetic side, but since Dr. Hartney is no longer there, the female staff are just miserably rude and insolent. Our senior dog who passed away, was seen by a relief vet, in the morning. This vet was quite elderly and did nothing to help, we had to take him to another vet and our dog passed away the next day. They couldn't even forward our records as our dog lay dying. We took our pup to the vet for a cough, we were told she was fine, and no evidence of a problem. The next day we took her to a different vet as she was having a hard time breathing, and now know that she had pneumonia. If you need shots, go there, any sort of diagnostics, go elsewhere. I hope Dr Hartney returns!

I took my cat here for a neuter, vaccinations and tattoo. They are great. Friendly, knowledgeable and quick! They are close to my home, nice and convenient. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Took my sick 8yr old cat here on friends recommendation. I live out of this vets area but was sooo glad I brought him there. Dr. Hartney was patient, took the time to honestly answer all questions and is great with the animals. He cured my cat of a bad case of pancreatitis...and took out a rotten tooth free of charge while he was sedated.Very pleased. Highly recommend this vet!

I have never been to this clinic before and had only gone there because it's really close to home. The staff were friendly, but not at all helpful. They answered all my questions with I don't knows, uh's and um's. The vet Dr. Hartney on the other hand decided to give my dog eye drops without even diagnosing what she had, the drops made whatever she had in her eyes worse and she ended up getting conjunctivitis. He said things like "her eyes are red, I'm just going to add drops" didn't even bother to tell us what the ointment was or how it was supposed to help. All he kept saying when we asked him questions were "I don't know, I have no clue and don't worry about it" Seriously THE WORST VET in the entire world. What kind of a vet would tell you not to worry about what your 3 month old puppy has. They wouldn't even diagnose her, they just kept telling us to bring her in. We paid $60 for a visit and he didn't do anything but make her even more sick!!

The staff there were rude and abrupt. My cat went in for a neuter and they didnt make me sign anything or take down an emergency number. When I called later they said there was complications like how the hell a neuter is so easy! Well the lady on the phone was rude and my cat had to stay over the same night. I would never bring my cat there again now I go to Killarney Animal Hospital and they are great! The staff is awesome.

Dr. Hartney and his staff are very kind. It's a bit far away from me, but I've never had any problems with them. A friend recommended them to me, and I'm glad I took her suggestion!

good sign - my dog was always happy to walk in the office. I have had dogs my entire life and rate this hospital as the best. When my dog got sick the vet did extra research to come up with other options for us, sold us pills at cost and gave freebies all to see what, if anything, would work. He explained everything clearly and at all times we felt we understood what we were up against. Everyone that works there is kind and professional. Now I live out of the area but still bring my pet here. Two thumbs up.

I brought my kitten in, we suspected he had worms. He has weight loss, bloating, trouble defecating, and later on lethargy. So, we gathered a stool sample for the vet and the doctor kept him under observation all day. He told us he didn't have worms and to keep him in close quarters at night because of the problem****ing. He didn't get better. I made another appointment two weeks later but before I could bring him in, he passed away. Thanks for nothing .

It is evident that Dr. Hartney and the rest of the staff really love animals. He always takes the time to diagnose the problem, explain it to us, and treat it. Unlike other vets, he often only charged us for the big ticket items, injecting fluids or antibiotics for free.

I took my Husky X Shepherd to see Dr Hartney, when my dog first showed symptoms of being out of sorts. The staff were all incredibly professional, sympathetic and supportive. Dr Hartney was very thorough & honest with his exams, and explained his procedures in terms that I could understand. In addition, he ALWAYS kept my financial situation in mind, his fee estimates were consistently accurate. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Hartley and his staff to anyone with a dog or cat.

Dr. Hartney and his support staff have been treating our animals for several years. I love the support staff (they take time out to love up our animals and are very helpful). Dr. Hartney is very patient and explains things well. (I also like the other vet that subs in sometimes. He is very kind and knowledgable..Dirk I think it is?). I wish they subscribed more to a holistic view (were up to date on RAW diets/supplements etc) but for basic care, I am very happy with the service! Once, they had charged me too much for a medication and phoned me to tell me so right away! Will continue to take my animals there! It's a good sign when your dog doesn't balk at even walking in the door!

(it's been a few years since I've been there, since I moved out of the area). I always just loved all the staff at Blue Cross! I took my pets there for years and when I moved out of the area continued to go there for many years because I couldn't find anyone here in the burbs that I was equally happy with for the longest time. I always felt the staff and doctor took the time to give me as much info as possible, and we always really wonderful with my many pets. Can highly recommend them!

Basic care is acceptable, and they saw the animal very quickly, but vet refused to send injectable supplies home with animal (after indicating he would) and refused to come to the phone to explain why in response to a direct request. Receptionist seemed to think she was the veterinarian and told what I believe to be falsehoods (such as that it is illegal to send injectable supplies home with animals). Basically, I felt there was no committed follow-up to the situation once they had been paid and no thinking "outside the box." Animal did get better.
