Honestly this clinic is the reason why I can't take my cat to the vets anymore. There was this one female vet who was great with him he actually enjoyed going to see her so I asked if she could be his primary vet and I was told that wasn't a problem. The next time I took him in we saw a male Dr and he man handled my cat and pinned him on his back while shoving a thermometer up his rear. He was then neutered by them and I couldn't figure out what was wrong when I brought him home. I couldn't touch his side. Low and behold I ended up taking him to an emergency clinic to discover he had a contact burn from the heat puck they use to warm their bodies after surgery. They proceeded to tell me that they didn't do it and to prove it I had to pay $500 for a biopsy. So we never went back! I'd advise against anyone going here!

I took my 3 dogs to this vet over an 8 year period. All in all I didn't have too many complaints until the last 3 years. Prices kept going up, they are generally higher than other clinics for non day to services (ie: teeth cleaning, xrays, boarding etc) They try to get you do pay for things that other clinics would not push you for or wouldn't always charge for. I find if you can't afford something they automatically offer you a credit card application. I find that offensive. lately I have found them to be behind schedule and really dislike the numerious phone calls and emails about setting aside an appointment for me I did not ask for. The final issue for me was when my dog had a severe fungal and bacterial eye infection and they kind of fumbled around for 2 weeks trying a few drops and charged me $600 and ultimately sent me to an emergency eye specialist hospital who my dog was on the verge of loosing his eye. This clinic charged me $900 over a 6 week period and fixed the eye. It was

Disappointed with this Vet Clinic! Was away for vacation came back saw that I had an email, a reminder card in mail, a phone call saying we have a tentative appointment for you followed by another email stating in 2 days my pet has appointment at 930am! Usually One reminder should be sufficient and let the client phone when they have time or in country!!! Who does this??? Can't wait to see if they try to send this to a collection agency for never even communicating with these people! Should be interesting! Sooo now I had to email saying how disappointed I was with them and leave a review here! I have better things to do with my time then being harassed by this overpriced clinic! Wow....

My dog and myself love the technical staff and vets. My issues have always been with the front desk. As mentioned in other reviews, they tend to be rude and abrupt at times. Sadly, they are the first representation you receive when visiting or calling the site. I must say it is not all the front staff but there are a few in particular whom I always seems to be uncomfortable with. I have had billing issues (double charges) a few times and it has always been the same girls who create the errors. I have always managed to have them corrected but with difficulty, it is such an inconvenience for them when asked to deal with it. I don't know if they are stressed at work or just simply in the wrong field but it should definitely be something the company needs to look into. As far as pricing, it is getting a bit expensive. There has been an increase twice this yr in the food I was recommended to purchase. I have also been pressured to buy unnecessary and expensive products. That, I don't like.

The place looks so clean and well-arranged. The rooms are comfortable. The vet was so nice to my dog who is very anxious whenever we've gone to vets before. The clinic offered a complimentary visit and they were actually very thorough and kind. The front staff were so nice too. I had my dog's nails clipped by the tech and she was so good with him. He was happy. This place has restored my faith in vets. (I went to a few before this, long story, but I did not feel my dog received appropriate care). The vet at Eastside was very knowledgeable. Couldn't be happier!

i feel that the previous 5* rating review should not be judging the treatment given to other customers - i too question the owners ethics & prices at times -overall the staff & doctors are wonderful but 1 bad experience or staff member can make or break the overall clinic

I have taken all my pets to this clinic for 10+ years, never had any issues with anything. They have always been very good at their job and nice to my family. Some of the previous reviews complain about having to pay for services ?? They are a business just like any other vet.. One person complained that the front desk staff was not knowledgeable? She's not a Dr. Or vet tech I do not see why you would be asking advice of a secretary. I have nothing but great things to say about this vet, all the vets and vet techs are extremely knowledgeable and my animals love them.

THEY LOST MY BUSINESS because of arrogance of the staff. I went to pick-up food for my dog and asked for a refill for some ear drops he has used in the past. One of the person from the front-desk kindly took my request to the veterinarian, which said that I need to bring my dog to for a consult. I expressed my disappointment saying that this is a business and I shouldn't pay the consult for a refill. Normal at this point I already paid for the food and ready to go when, another staff which did not want to tell her name, start lecturing me that even we (humans)cannot have refills by phone. I argued this because we can get refills by phone and she replied that this is the POLICY of this place. She continued to say that I have to pay 50 dollars if I want to SPEAK with the veterinarian like we have to pay for the doctors!! Maybe others can uses their judgements before going to this place. I will recommend to my friends to exercise caution if they bring their business to this place.

Cash grab only!!!! Reception staff and administrators are rude beyond all belief. They missed customer service classes during their whole day of training for this job. You can tell from the attitudes of the receptionists that they have very little education and are only there to make a quick buck, and have the illusion of some power. They schedule appointments for things that do not need appointments just to charge the client. Stay away from this place, and find a place that has people that actually care about your pets and not about their bottom line. Too bad that a management of individuals that have attained a high level of education cannot see these horrible and rude receptionists are driving away all their business. Do yourself and your pets a favor and go to Beattie, or even PetsMart, because any place is better than PetVet Eastide.

I brought in a sick and DYING stray rat. It had eaten rat poison and when I found him he was barely moving and having difficulty breathing. I had brought in a bird to them once before that had hit our window for euthanasia. And they did it at no cost. Then I go in with this rat and they say the vet that is on doesn't know how to euthanize a small animal. I've actually worked at a vets office before, for 10.5 years, and I know it isn't hard. This poor animal was suffering and they chose to do nothing for it. What great compassion. I eventually found a clinic to help me. I'll always recommend them... The Millen Road Animal Hospital. Use them instead!!!!

This is "franchise clinic", meaning there are about 5 PetVet clinics in Ontario. This has it pros and cons. Pros: their prices are pretty good, and you get more bang for your buck. They can also afford better vets, so you will rarely come across a new grad or an incompetent vet. All the vets are experienced and know what they're doing. Cons: their exams seem to be about 20 minutes each (or less), which means the vet is always racing to the next appointment. They are pretty booked up too, so you always feel rushed. You probably won't get the same vet if you go back more than once, since they seem to have 4 or 5 vets in rotation. The vet won't be familiar with your pet or your case - they will only know what the vet before them has written in the medical record. All in all, I'd say this is a great vet if you're looking to save money or have a surgery procedure done. But if you're looking for that small town feeling/one-on-one interaction, this place isn't for you.

An abomination of communication. This this organization never follows through on the simplest of requests and instructions. Purely a money grab to the core. Amy the self proclaimed manger thinks she is a vet talking down to clients as if she constantly has something to justify. We will never be going back.

I took my dog to PET VET because he had a small foreign object in his paw and they estimated that it would cost $1100 to remove it. The vet said that its a 15min procedure and that he would be out within a hour and we can take him home. My dog previously had more complicated surgery, where he required internal stitching and needed to stay over night and it cost $600. After we told the vet that this price is ridiculous and that we need to think about it, before we left he tried selling us medication, antibiotics, and various other products and he was very pushy. This is a shame because they probably do this to every customer and people submit to their persuasive tactics.

I have been taking my pets here for years, and they absolutely love it!! The staff is AMAZING, they always treat my babies sooo well. They are more then okay with me calling constantly to check up.. and THEY even call me to see how they are doing after surgeries. I find the price to be more expensive then other places, but its well worth it. I would recommend PetVet in Stoney Creek to anyone!!!!

This vet is probably the worst rip off in the industry. My puppy had chronic ear infections for the first few months after we got her. After several prescriptions and visits, they recommended an expensive hypoallergenic food that could only be purchased at their office. That is when I went to another vet and got a seond opinion. The other vet suggested cleaning the ears first and then use a drying agent once a week and after she got the ears wet. Haven't had a problem with her ears after several years. Needles to say I've never been back to this vet as they are only in the business for their own bottom line then whats best for your animal. I strongly recommend shopping around for a different vet other than this one. I've moved around the country since and I find the best vets are always out in the country where the vets just seem to care more about the animals health rather than selling needles tests, precriptions, and special foods. This vet will milk you all they can get.

Think you're being ripped off?? I brought my cat to this clinic to be spayed. Blood test 'results,' indicated that the cat needed IMMEDIATE and expensive treatment or her liver would shut down and she would die. That is what was told to me over the phone, and yes, the vet was sure and no, there had been no mistake. Fortunately for me, she was a very poor liar. A second set of tests performed elsewhere confirmed my suspicions, kitty was absolutely fine, and remains healthy years later. If you must take your pet here, I would highly recommend seeking another opinion if you are confronted with a potentially high vet bill.

I got my puppy spayed there on the puppy plan package and was so happy with the service. The front staff was so polite and put up with me always calling even called me. I STRONGLY recommend this clinic the vets are great and really helped me feel better about her surgery and I'm a very nervous over protective owner. They really did care 5/5!!!

We took our dog here for his entire life (14 years). The staff and vets were always friendly and knowledgeable. The vets always considered our dog first, and never suggested any additional tests/surgeries that would have made him uncomfortable for little results. Our only concern was: when our family was sitting in the room with our dog, waiting for the vet to come in for his euthanization, the front desk staff came in the room and told us the payment for the urn didn't go through properly. Incredibly tacky, we were all very upset. The last thing you need to be dealing with 5 minutes before you put your dog down is that kind of issue.

I have been taking my pets there for almost 10 years. The office staff are amazing and friendly. I see the same faces in there everytime I go in and they always remember my name. I have seen all 3 of their vets and my dog loves them all, which is important. I used to have to drag my dog into his last vet but he loves it there. I was put on a plan which allows me to make a small payment every month so his annual visit isn't such a blow for me. But they have awesome annual packages and I just referred a good friend of mine who got a new kitten. She loves them also. To make things better, I went in to buy food the other day and learned there was a $10 credit on my account, just for referring her. I'm telling everyone to go there!!

Every time I go in they order a slew of tests which I never seem to get the results for. My last visit for a fungal infection with my pup cost me over $800 and two months later the dog is worse than before treatment. Facilities are gorgeous but like previous poster say, I always get the feeling I'm getting ripped off.

I take my pets there and consistently use one of the vets in that practice. I love her, she is amazing and I truly trust her. Their prices are fair, a little high for the annual shots though. They have spay/neuter plans for puppies and kittens which is amazing, but I find the annual shots are about $20 more than other vets I have been to. There are a few staff members that I find very rude and uninviting - rolling eyes when people call for updates on their animals, complaining about people asking questions, becoming short with people who ask why their bill was so high. But I the rest of the staff is amazing and make me feel really comfortable! I am planning on getting a puppy soon and will be taking it there and not thinking twice!

Very nice staff, but felt like they charged me for everything they could possibly think of. I also left feeling ripped off. Aside from that, they are in the progress of building a new multi-level facility that looks like it will be VERY nice.
