Click to report rating    6/10/23   1     1     1     1   If I could provide a zero I would. The owner and main vet is a very pathetic and sad man. We are currently issuing a complaint to CVBC for his actions after the most recent visit. He lies, does not properly care for the animals, and overcharges when given the opportunity. STAY CLEAR AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE FOR ANYTHING OF A SERIOUS NATURE. HE WILL BE A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PERSON TO TAKE A PET TO WITH ANY SERIOUS ISSUES OCCURRING. RID: 70723
Click to report rating    8/25/20   1     2     1     1   Dr Mangat is good but their staff... Jesse doesn’t look at you when she’s speaking, she has a sarcastic tone and she’s uncommunicative. I went in to get my tabby’s booster vaccine and they came out having given her a rabies shot and filled a prescription of dewormer as well. I suspect this is because I mentioned that we’ve been starting to leash train but at least you could tell me that would be happening - I couldn’t be present in the exam room so I had no way to know they were planning to. I literally was only told when she told me how much the bill was and was handed dewormer pills and rabies tag. I would have chosen to do the rabies vaccine and the booster on separate occasions because of the intense effect the rabies vaccine can have - this is a general recommendation within the industry. And worse, she didn’t say anything about how lethargic she would be all night. I will be cancelling my upcoming appointment. As a professional in the industry I would caution you strongly. RID: 69486
Click to report rating    3/9/20   1     2     2     1   this clinic is only open for extra tests to be done on your animal. Every time we visit the clinic he wants to do blood work or dental surgery. I wanted my dog's prescription to be faxed to another clinic to fill which he signed on Sunday when I called on Monday to have a new prescription for additional tablets to be faxed he refused unless my dog comes in for a blood test. I transferred my dog's file toV veterinary hospital right away. The staff are also dishonest as they didn't speak to the vet but then said the vet is unwilling to sign the amended prescription. Pet owners beware. This clinic is like Atlas animal hospital. Bad service bad staff nothing good about this clinic RID: 69113
Click to report rating    1/5/19   1     1     1     2   Eek. I am an animal welfare professional and have had a number of interactions with this clinic. Rescues often use this clinic for its low cost, but that’s it. Recently took a kitten that was feral and I have been working with. The receptionist/vet tech toll is into the room and I directly said that this cat would very challenging to handle and they should not try without being well prepared. As I am speaking she simply opens the crate, a second later the cat is bouncing around the exam room trying to escape, hurting himself in the process. All she said was “oops, I thought he wasn’t going to move. Man, these cats are crazy *eye roll*!” This is not how a professional interacts with clients. During pick-up we waited in the waiting waiting room for a long time and finally had to peek into the back where we found the receptionist looking at her phone. Worst of all the stress on my cat set us back months in building trust, and months later has not recovered from the trauma. RID: 67188
Click to report rating    2/17/17   1     1     1     1   incompetence and poor customer service. This vet should have his practice reviewed. No answers no treatments that work. 10 days late delivering a lab result for clostridium intestinal bacterium. Will take your money no problem not confident in his diagnosis Should be barred from doing business. RID: 62721

8/10/15   5     5     5     5   I don't understand all the negative reviews. This hospital is awesome and I have been using them for years. All of my dogs have been seen by Dr.Mangat. He's always been gentle and takes his time when doing an exam, He explains the procedures and always give estimates. I would not go anywhere else with my pets. RID: 57994

6/23/14   5     5     5     5   Dr. Mangat and Dr. Dhunna saved both our dogs this year. One was attacked by a pitbull and one had anemia. They performed two major surgeries on my dog that was attacked and the medication prescribed for my dog who had anemia had her up and running in no time. The facility has been clean every time we have been there and the staff is very friendly. We feel very safe entrusting our dogs to Killarney. RID: 52228

10/11/13   1     1     1     1   I would never go to this clinic again. Dr Mangat didn't even show up for the appointment I booked. Instead some other doctor came in, and he didn't know what he was talking about. When I finally did see Dr Mangat he told me to do every test possible. He has no compassion for clients to even show up or to keep the charges low. I should have listened to all the bad ratings and never go. Beware! RID: 47565

7/12/13   5     5     5     5   That's a pleasing experience to have services of Killarney Animal Hospital. I am overwhelmed by the care and affection my Moti is given. Dr Mangat is the finest vet i had came across. He is a compassionate man. His understanding about pets is excellent. All my queries are explained sincerely by him. I can easily see the positive change came in my Moti. All thanks to Dr Mangat and his concerned staff. RID: 44148

9/5/12   1     1     1     1   They charge me $25, for a check-up but only checked my cats ears because that's where the problem was. The bill was over $200. just to sedate and flush his ears and a couple of injections of antibiotic, The staff is no clue, unfriendly and they don't know their job. The vet just wanted me to pay for this and that. Now my cat has a high fever and still can't walk after the 5th day. I call and they said they'll check him again for $18. Excuse me, but before I brought my cat in , he could walk. They are such ripoffs. Plus they made me feel bad because I didn't have the $40. extra for anti biotics. They even wanted me to pay for anti itching cream but I said I could put a collar on him for that. I'm so unhappy with them that I'm reporting them to info@consumerprotectionbc.ca I only live on disability. The vet had no emotions either and didn't seem to even like animals. My feeling RID: 37021

8/11/12   5     5     5     5   I,m totally agreed with Max cat owner i came to this clinic about two years ago my cat had a problem with some skin issue it was quite complicated case i visited so many vets at that time and Dr Mangat as well he actually suggest one special allergic test that was a little expensive to diagnose exact cause but i was quite confuse to spend that much money after that i went to dermatology clinic at richmond the specialist there recomend the same test and my cat was positive with that one but i was so impressed with the knowledge of Dr Mangat at that time unfortunately i moved from there he is not my vet anymore but i would still say that he is great knowledgeable doctor with good services RID: 36428

2/16/12   1     1     1     1   I had a terrible experience at this vet. The staff are very unfriendly. Kristy and Jessie were the ones who helped me, and they were outright rude and didn't seem to care about my cat at all. The facility is dirty, and I'm sure they wouldn't even treat their own animals in that filth. The staff are just a bunch of immature girls with no professionalism. They didn't treat my animal with the care and respect I would have liked, and I don't plan on returning. Dr. Mangat was helpful, but he didn't seem to love his job or go above and beyond. If he cared about his the success of his business, he would get some new staff and train them to be professional and show a little compassion and respect to the clients and their pets RID: 32264

1/4/12   1     2     4     2   Not happy when we brought our Lab x dog to this Hospital. In the past we have been satisfied but not this time. There was no mention of difficulty breathing and the fact water was given to our dog in the morning and she vomited on it and possibly it going into her lungs. Not happy when we brought our Lab x dog to this Hospital. In the past we have been satisfied but not this time. There was no mention of difficulty breathing and the fact water was given to our dog in the morning and she vomited on it and possibly it going into her lungs. When we picked up our dog later in the day.and took her home our dog was very thirsty and we gave her water. She again vomited it up and had difficulty breathing. We took our dog the next morning to the Emergency Animal Hospital on 4th Avenue and they found fluid in her lungs. Where did that start? Possibly at the Killarney Animal Hospital. We are NOT happy with the Killarney Animal Hospital. RID: 30286
Click to report rating    12/30/11   2     1     2     2   Staff are rude, claim to be animal people.... hard to tell. Especially Jesse. Dr. Mangat is monotone, hard to understand and doesn't seem to give a**** about pets overall. Facility is not very clean... Really needs new staff who have some decent courtesy. RID: 30156
Click to report rating    11/7/11   1     1     1     1   I went there to have my almost 18 year old Lab cross euthanized, the so called office manager had no problem taking my money and told me that my dog still had a ton of years to live that labs live til they are 20 or so years old. She is crazy and the rudest person I have ever dealt with. When I went in the room the Dr. refused to do it but insisted that I spend thousands on tests and treatment. I did not make my decision on a whim I loved my dog for 18 years this was a very difficult decision to make and they refused then couldn't refund me my money because they were at there max for refunds (wonder why), the idiot then said she could put a credit on my account (guess what I dont have a dog anymore idiot and would never use your vet services again) but still I don't have my money.  6/13/11   1     1     1     1   where to start Mmmm after knowing about the condition of my dogs sufferings from doing a self search form the internet I took my dog to be seen by this vet that HAD courage of charge me just to let me know of what my dog condition was and give me an estimate for the treatment that was out of this world. This Dr. has a license to print money and not to care about the animals to bar there is no -/+ rating because giving a 1 rate really hurts. My dog could be dieing but I will not take it to this vet. RID: 25576
Click to report rating    2/13/11   1     1     1     1   Dr. Mangat is great but his staff is the whorst i have ever been in contact with . jessi and sheena a bunch of idiots that told me and my husband to only see dr mangat and not i think dr paul . if this clinic has employees that dont like the doctors that they work for that is a bad sign ... Click to report rating    2/12/11   1     3     3     3   strongly recommended unneeded, and potentially harmful pain medication. We ended up throwing it away after looking up the side effects online. now we are out 40 dollars. At least our kitties are ok! We called to see if we could refund it, and were refused. Ridiculous. The surgery went fine, and our cats are happy as ever! RID: 22804
Click to report rating    12/5/10   1     1     2     1   Do not go to this vet! They butchered my dogs neutering. The dog came out with what appears to burnt testicles and was all cut up from being terribly shaven. Was also told that a cone and pain meds are not required after, but was informed otherwise during initial visit. RID: 21260
Click to report rating    10/1/10   5     5     5     5   We have been going to Dr Mangat since he first opened about 10 years ago and have been very pleased with exceptional service.I have referred him to many friends who are very happy also. Dr Mangat is very caring about all pets brought to him, he treats them as though they are his own pets. Has a very gentle nature and knows what he is doing.I will continue to recommend him to everyone I know. We have taken 5 different dogs to him and he has given them all the best of care. RID: 20021
Click to report rating    9/19/10   3     2     1     3   Cheap fees but rude vets. They dont listen to what the problem is, and talk to you as if you are stupid. The staff is ok reception is always nice but the vets are horrid. RID: 19813
Click to report rating    4/28/10   1     1     1     1   The vetrinarians in this animal hopital has no sympathy for your pets and animals. My dog lost appetite and was diagnosed with cancer, the vet at first said they could give her medication which can improve her appetite and move on with treatment etc etc. Then on the third day we found out she still wasn't eating and decided to take her home to make her more comfortable. At that point, the vet suggested euthanizing her. Why would they suggest that only at that point? When we are ready to take her home. After a week, they even have the galls to call us at home and ask how our beloved dog is holding up and if we wanna proceed with euthanasia. And guess what we were quoted for Euthanasia + cremation: $480! We did ask around and the price should've been within $300. We already felt ripped off when they charged $850 for two nights stay, IV fluids, meds and x-ray. RID: 17717
Click to report rating    11/25/09   1     1     1     1   horrible,horrible,horrible...this vet shouldn't even be in buisness!!I had taken my 12 yr old cat to have looked at for a hematoma(blood pooling in the ear)..long story short, the staff had NO idea what a hematoma was,my poor cat was operated on twice and it still came back!!so i took him to a different vet and found out that my cat had an ear infection all along and thats what was causing the hematoma!hundreds of dollars were wasted at Killarney!and frankly, the staff was VERY un educated!they couldn't tell me specifically how to give my cat his medicine...i DO NOT reccommend anyone to this vet AT ALL!! RID: 15465
Click to report rating    1/30/07   4     3     4     5   We adopted the sweetest kitten from Action for Animals in Distress Society, in Vancouver. Along with the adoption fee, we received one free vet visit and neuter. We've only been there the one time, however I am impressed that they are helping the rescue shelter, which in turns helps prevent unnecessary euthanasia. They are open 7 days a week. Four hours after bringing her home the same night, poor kitty developed a high a fever, due to upper respiratory virus + ear mites which needed flushing, so we took him in the next day. These are common problems that can happen to esp rescued animals who are often around many other cats, so I wasn't alarmed, nor do I blame the rescuer - as cats tend to hide their illness often until it's too late. Takado is better with each new day. We're very pleased with this vet and congratulate them for helping this rescue shelter. They are located in the Killarney mini strip mall. RID: 2286
