I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. The incompetence of Vanessa Fussell killed my beloved dog. We went in to get treatment for a torn nail and we got him back in an urn. Please be aware of who is treating your pet and the recommended treatment. Do your own research first.

We brought our puppy here a couple weeks ago. The staff (front & vets) were excellent. (This is an Emergency place, as such we assumed the costs would be higher.) The costs are quite high. Unfortunately, we lost our puppy. But the all the staff were compassionate, caring & extremely empathetic. The vets also don't sugar coat things & assume the worst, which is kind of what you want in an ER. In an Emergency, I would gladly bring any animal back & recommend to anyone. If you're looking to save $$ however, you might want to shop around.

I am getting ready to go pick up my cat. I used this site to find a good vet and had to respond to the negative remarks. Sure it's expensive, but there open 24/7. I felt the staff was very experienced and took lots of time to explain all that needed to be done with my cat. the estimate I was given was pretty much bang on after 3 days. The surgery that my cat now needs is done at this hospital, but they know it is a lot cheaper elsewhere and advised me to take my cat to another clinic. They are forwarding all of the results and info to the new clinic. In the 3 days that my cat was there, every doctor starting his or her shift would call to let me know how my cat was doing. Would I go there on a regular basis? probably not. But after 9pm when all the vets are closed and you are worried about your pet, I would go there in a heartbeat. Everything about this hospital made me feel that leaving my cat there was a good idea.

Bad bad bad. I called ahead to make sure they had time to fit me in as I needed to have my cat euthanized and didn't want to stress him by waiting for a vet (it was a weekend). I arrived shortly after and was left standing in the lobby (sobbing) while the receptionist casually chatted with someone for a long time. I finally piped up and let them know I had called and need to have my cat attended to. I got the feeling I was being judged because they thought I was just trying to kill him off and not treat him. I advised them he had heart failure and had been on meds and had check ups , but his health had taken a major dip that morning. The apppointment went horribly (my cat vomitted on himself and they would not clean him up, horrible way to die). After that they messed up on the arrangements I asked/signed/paid for with his body. Overall - completely unhappy with the service I was given. No compassion either.

brought my cat in who it was discovered had something wrong with his spinal cord/spine, affecting the use of his rear legs. I didn't have so much of a problem with the actions of the vets when i was dealing with them as i felt they did a decent job of describing options available. My issue is mainly with what seems like a blatant running up of the vet bill (mine ended up being well over 2500 for one day). When you get a printout of the services rendered it seems like they went overboard. $200 for misc.. isn't that a car mechanic thing to do! we talked to specialists thinking they worked at the clinic only to realize later they didn't and we were charged through the nose. Unless you are very affluent, do not bring your pet here, there are much better, and affordable options available.

I brought my dog in because she ate some unknow substance and was very sick. The vet decided it was pot! I don't ever smoke pot. I said it couldn't be pot. He insisted it must be. The next morning when I picked up the dog the receptionist said it was pot too. She couldn't understand why I was offended. Oh and $1000 later. Way too much money for services rendered. I guess I should be thankful my dog is still alive.

My cat, Billy, came home with an open wound on his hind leg and I brought him here. We had to wait a long time to be seen, even though the place was completely empty; when we were finally let into an exam room the vet seemed unsure about what he was doing (just trying to take his temperature, even), suggested Billy had been hit by a car (simply because his nails were a short and a little frayed-looking) and quoted an absurd price. When he came back with a paper detailing the costs, the final price was almost double what he had initially stated. I paid them to shave and clean the wound, and the next day took him to a vet in Surrey (Allondale) and paid less than a tenth of the price this Langley vet quoted; after Allondale, Billy was better within a two weeks (whereas this vet wanted him to undergo surgery, euthanasia was even mentioned as a possibility - ridiculous!).

Took my dog there new years eve cause he was having trouble breathing. Cost me $75 just to walk in the door. They ran test after test and kept him overnight to run more tests. $1700 later I asked what was wrong him, "we dont know" was what I got. Could be this could be that, here's some antibiotics. While I was there, there was another dog being examined who was screaming in pain for the whole two hours I was there. They did nothing about it. I cant imagine how that would affect the other animals there. I was dealing with Dr. Collingwood, what a complete jackass. Nothing but attitude. He started discussing my dogs heart condition and when I tried to tell him about my dogs diet he cut me off and said "whatever". Did'nt want to hear it. No compassion or caring at all. He even suggested I should put him to sleep, a year later my dog is still fine. I hope karma catches up with you.

We went there on Christmas night because our dog had an abses on her side and it needed to be dealt with asap. They were very nice and professional. She stayed overnight and they phoned us as soon as we could pick her up. They seemed a little expensive but on Christmas night I wouldn't expect anything else. Great clean facility and we were not nervous leaving her in their hands :)

I took my cat in when she was crying in pain and wouldn't eat. It was a Sunday and they were busy but we were able to wait. The receptionist was awesome. She looked at the kitty first to make sure she could wait. There was a couple there crying and they obviouly needed to be seen and attended to first. The first woman vet was great. She told me what she thought was going on and let me decide what to do about further tests. I decided to have her tested and admitted for observation. They said I could call or come by to see how she was. I dropped by the next morning and the second lady vet was great. She came out to talk to me. The male vet later in the day was kind of odd (no eye contact, uncomfortable with talking to me and mumbled under his breath a lot). Maybe he has Aspergers. Anyhow, kitty was great. Bill was high but I do have pet insurance. You really shouldn't buy a pet if you are not willing or able to pay for it. GET PET INSURANCE!

it would be a frosty day in hell before I would ever return to this clinic. They treat everyone like they have a meth lab or grow op. They just assume everyone has poisoned their dogs. Money is the number one motivator for this clinic, I do think the veterinary care is excellent but their people skills and client interactions are the worst. Very very overpriced, but being that all the other vets get a cut of their profits by referring them, I guess we have to pay for it. They tend to NOT use antibiotics when very very necessary, so if you do go in, do a follow up visit with your own vet ASAP

My advice - drive into Vancouver. All they care about is your money. My dog was critical and we never got any straight answers out of them. They wanted another 300 dollars just to go over all the lab/biopsy reports after we spend thousands on diagnostics and overnight care. My own vet spend 40 minutes out of his busy schedule going through everything with us for free. Paid for a rush fee to get biopsy results and they sat on the report for three days and told us our vet should have called us. Sorry, but we paid you and you should have let us known the report was in. Front end staff and vet techs were fantastic but that's where the buck stops. Most frustrating ordeal of my life. We never had any follow up calls how our pet was doing once we were discharged.

I brought my dog in last week for being lethargic and collapsing. The doctors for fabulous! They removed a mass out of my dogs abdomen, and now with the specialty hospital they are 24 hours! My dog stayed for 3 days and was treated like gold! Beautiful large hospital and great staff! I would highly reccomend this clinic! Price didnt matter to me as I think of my dog as family and I would do anything for a family member

Most of the staff seem informative. They are very good at dealing with the most critical patient first, but not so good at letting clients know there will be a wait. The money is a little high for minor things, but if I was there for a true emergency I wouldn't feel bad paying the price.

This is a good clinic and are open mostly all the time. The staff varies between shifts so I dealt with one vet that had a great personality and then another that was a bit less personable but equally as knowledgable and good at their job. My dog wasn't critical so I had to wait to be seen but as I sat there I saw one dog be rushed in seizing and another that looked like it had had some sort of trauma. I was happy to wait knowing they were dealing with cases in priority of need. I would want my really sick dog dealt with first. The facility is clean and spacious moreso than lots of other clinics i've seen. It is expensive but I think most of the costs are probably due to the fact that they have a full staff on at all times and have such a nice facility and I thought my dog was taken very good care of. I would recommend them for any emergency but probably stick to your regular vet for minor things.

I was only there 20 min, charged over $400 and my dog died in that 20 min. No sympathy at all, rushing me out because they were closing. This is NOT a 24hr emergency hospital at all. Nor are they any good at a thing a vet is supposed to do. Time to put these quack types out of business. Who takes care of these bad doctors?

After being referred to this vet I am highly disappointed, sad and most of all angry. With all their technology and training that these vets had to go through, It was strange how my dog could have several different blood read outs. and on top of it all the Vet couldn't decipher what it meant. My Dog was in critical condition and they wanted me to transport it back to my regular vet because they were closing. Absolutely very disappointed in this vet. It makes me realize that Canada or maybe simply BC is in serious need of a SERIOUS and CARING Veterinary Hospitals with GENUINE Animal DOCTORS. I do not suggest this clinic to anyone.

Completely disgusted. I first visited this clinic years ago late at nite when my dog had a serious eye trauma and was impressed with how they treated him. However now i would say do not bother going unless there is no where else to go. I went at 4pm when my dog was throwing up foam and having difficulty breathing. With an obviously unwell dog in my arms i enter the vets at 4pm to be nearly knocked over by some dog that was hanging out in the waiting room and have a rude receptionist and a snarky vet who tell me they are not open for emergencies until 5pm. I could either come back in an hour or go somewhere else. Really so why are you open and advertise being a 24hr emergency clinic???? thank you so much for your care and concern. So disgusted i am glad my dog vomited all over your sidewalk on his way out!!!!

We took a female there for an emergency c-section on a Sunday.(She was scheduled with our reg. vet the next day,but couldn't wait)It went well, but the bill was $1500. Over twice what we pay at our reg. vet. Three days later, the female passed an afterbirth. This should not have happened,as the puppy and afterbirth should have been removed at the same time. We could have lost the female to infection, and in turn lost our puppies. Would never go back. And the staff have no compassion whatsoever. Just looking for the cash.

I had the unfortunate luck of having to take our cocker spaniel to this clinic after he ate one of the babies socks and it got stuck in his system. This is a cash grab from the get go, with the vet making us put a $500 deposit on our Visa before they took the dog for overnight observation. they put him on an intravenous drip and he eventually passed the sock. The bill was horrendous, the staff barely gave a damn, and the communication between vets and staff and us was disjointed and bare minimum. If you have no other choice, you have to go there and they know it!

In certain situations these people don't know what to do and they don't listen to owners with years of experience treating dogs with chronic diseases. I asked the vet to contact our Neuro specialist vet at CanWest Animal Critical Care and she wanted to do more test to see if my dog was poisoned or having kidney or liver failure (as if the tests we had done at my own vet clinic and I had brought were wrong). They kept my seizing dog there for two days before I had to drive him to Animal Critical Care in the middle of the night, while he seized on the seat beside me(every 20 min or so). At which point the neurologist had him stopped within a few hours of getting him there and onto a drip of phenobarbitol (which they didn't know to do at Langley). I continuously asked them to contact Canwest! The only reason I may have to use them again would be because they are the only option out here!!!

Their response(concern) was very minimal. Bad communication between different doctors (shift changes). Causing more stress on animal, as everyone decided to investigate all over again. Their diagnosis was also incorrect. Quick to blame owner. I would strongly recommend you go elsewhere if possible, and avoid leaving your animal in their hands any longer than necessary.

Puncuality will vary....when I got there the last time, it was a long weekend and the place was PACKED!! Waiting room full of panicky pet owners :( All emergency vets are notoriously expensive, but thank goodness they are there!!!! It's possible my pets might have died at home, waiting for care in the morning. The vet (not the managing vet) I saw last time had no personality whatsoever, but she got the job done. I wouldn't use her as a regular vet (IF she had a private practice) for that reason, but for an emergency, all I really want is someone capable!

I brought my dog in with a ripped ear (almost in half). It was 150 just to walk in the door. They then advised it would cost between 800 - 1000 to repair his ear. I told them to forget it as I can get my dogs ears cropped for $300. I took my dog to my regular vet and for $125 dollars they REPAIRED the ear and you cant tell that anything had ever happened.

This is more for true emergency care ... it cost us $120. just for the vet to see him. However, they are well equipped to handle just about every emergency I'm sure. They even had a grieving room set aside for those whose pet didn't make it. Staff were nice enough, but the vet was wonderful. My cat had a terrible bowel impaction that needed immediate help, and he was well taken care of, and has recovered 100%. It too bad the cost is so high, but since they are open with most others are closed it's comforting to know that when you have a ER case, they are open! (Mon - Friday 5pm - 8am; Sat- Monday 2pm - 8am; 365 days a year) My cat needed x-rays; subcu IV fluids; and she had to extract the impaction manually; + the meds to help him go. We walked out after paying $290. But we left with a living cat, who may well have died due to complications had I waited and worried about the cost! I'm grateful for the service.
