Thank you, thank you to Dr. Hess and his wonderful team. Dr. Hess saved our mastiff from the brink of death. Through out the entire process, we were always kept updated on his progress. Miraculous is all we can say of Dr. Hess and his team. Dr. Hess and his team of great ladies were always friendly and compassionate. We can't thank them enough.

My kitty had to undergo major surgery and I was scared. Dr. Hess and the staff at this clinic took such great care of my cat and she recovered beautifully. I would not trust her veterinary care to any other clinic. It is worth the drive to Acton!

Dr. Hess and his staff saved my kitten last year. Dr. Hess is a confident and experienced surgeon, and he was easy to talk to during a difficult situation. My kitten Miles faced two options euthanasia or exploratory surgery. Dr. Hess performed the exploratory surgery in December 2014 and found a 2' tear in the kitten's small intestine. This problem could only be found by a look inside rather than just tests, thankfully Dr. Hess had the intuition to look. Miles is a very social and smart kitten, just like the staff in Acton like Kayleigh. Miles spent much time in Acton Veterinary Clinic's boarding facilities as a baby and I think the attention he received helped form his pleasant demeanor. Since December, Dr. Hess performed a declaw on Miles and it went perfect as expected. I would highly recommend Acton Veterinary Clinic and their friendly staff. Dr. Hess is the best surgeon in the GTA, but his bill was very fair.

We could not be happier with the care that our pug Cooper has received from Dr Stephen Hess and his team. Cooper was having an ongoing breath odour issue, which was not comfortable for anyone. We were advised to try water treatments, chewing treats and tablets. Dr Hess immediately came to the conclusion that the issue was Cooper's teeth, and he proceeded with an extraction of bad teeth, and a thorough cleaning. We have not had an issue with his breath since, and were very confidant in leaving him in Dr Hess's care. A bacterial infection was also detected in Cooper's ears, and this was addressed at the same time, which relieved Cooper of a lot of discomfort. There was also a growth on Cooper's snout which we were concerned about, but hadn't brought up. Dr. Hess immediately addressed it for us. Acton Veterinary Clinic has become our vet of choice, and it is absolutely worth the drive to Acton from Burlington for us.

Our beloved little Yorkie jumped off of our bed and displaced his knee cap and tore the cruciate. Dr. Sharon saw him the next day and Dr. Hess was operating on him a day later. This is the second knee this has happened to and Acton Vet Clinic and their staff were extremely professional and had great empathy for our little dog. We had to leave him in their care and they took excellent care of him. Dr. Hess called us immediately after the surgery and explained everything to us and anstwered all of our questions. Any time we have called, he has always called us back to address any concerns we have had. Dr. Hess has an excellent, caring, compassionate manner and we have complete trust in him and his staff. I highly recommend the Acton Vet Clinic.

We live in Hamilton and were referred to Dr. Hess by friends in Halton. We were not satisfied with the professionalism of the Hamilton Clinic, so took our friends referral to Acton. We have had two cats and a dog treated by Dr. Hess in the past couple of years. We have been super impressed with the dedication of the vets and entire staff, and the care our animals received is by far the most exceptional. Most recently, our beloved 6 year old Yorkie was treated by Dr. Hess after developing a problem with an eye, and what appeared to be a hernia. While on March vacation this year, Molly was taken to Acton for treatment and surgery. Here's why Dr. Hess's Acton Vet Clinic is the very best While on March break in US, either Dr. Hess or his assistant called us DAILY, with reports on the progress of the surgery and eye treatment.I can't tell you how relieved we were to receive this daily reports.It relieved the stress of not being there. Acton is the very best care for your pet. Anywhere

Dr. Hess & staff are the greatest. They have saved my pets many times and I/we live in Mississauga! There is not a Vet I trust more on the planet then Dr. Hess! The quality of services & their vet medical knowledge is 2nd to no one! I have always found them to be very friendly, courteous, & sympathetic, never rushed,...and if you have questions...they always have the time for answers/or to explain things. Their services are VERY reasonable compared to any other vet out there. I`ve known people to regularly travel there from the east end of Toronto/or Niagara Region to see him & staff for their expertise, services, and advice! Trust this Vet, for he IS the best! * Sidenote*,...:the person who took their injured pet to Dr. Hess & was upset they were sent somewhere else,...the Doc was probably already in an emergency surgery, couldn`t see their pet in time, & WASN~T GREEDY to keep the pet waiting there, but rather sent it else where to save it.

Dr Hess is amazing !saving a life is not just a job for him, it's a cause. He does it out of love for the animals and that shows when you pay the bill. He will work out a reasonable price considering the situation.He saved my pigeon when every other doctor i went to refused not giving him and chance of survival and my cats when they were a step from dieing. I cannot thank him enough for every life he saved every time I needed his help. He is the best doctor I know!

Quite a good veterinary clinic that took care of my rabbit for several years. Only some of the vets here can handle rabbits. The quality of care was quite high, and the cost is excellent, they try to save you money. They lack some of the latest equipment and the clinic can be noisy with dog barking etc. that sometimes made my rabbit nervous, but apart from that I can recommend this place as a good knowledgeable vet clinic.

Dr Hess is one of the hardest working men and the best vet I have ever met. He is an everyday hero. Our pets are more like our family members now and he will stop at nothing to save and make sure our families are happy and healthy. I have loved and lost a few animals along the way and Dr Hess has always been there for them through the good and the bad. Also the staff are kind and down to earth. The Acton Veterinary Clinic will always be my #1 choice

I am very grateful to Dr. Hess and his staff. I was very nervous about having dental work and a lump removed from my dog' face. The surgery and procedure went really well and my dog is doing great. The staff really helped my pup and I through what I thought was going to be a difficult time. I recommend this clinic to everyone. Thanks.

Im a dog breeder and twice Dr. Hess has helped me yet again with a puppy I was concerned about. He shows concern and eases my mind while he checks the little one. She is going to be just fine he said with a smile. Dr. Hess calls to check her progress. He was right, she is just fine. Thanks Dr Hess

We are new clients and very impressed with the friendly and knowledgable staff and vets.We received printed information by Dr. Butzke to take home which was very useful, following a pancreatitis diagnosis for our dog.We like the extended hours for appointments and like the fact that there are so many services in-house. Great thinking to have a grooming salon at the clinic too. We are happy to place the health of our pets in their capable hands!!! Thanks Dr's Hess & Butzke and staff - you are number one.

We have had 3 border collies under Dr. Hess's care since 2004, we travel 45 minutes to his clinic and would not take them anywhere else. He has been wonderful and our dogs love him, he is so gentle with them and takes his time. He saw 2 of the dogs through cancer treatment as they aged and he was marvelous. He even let me stay for one of the surgeries. He is an outstanding vet and is always there in an emergency. We have recommended him to many people. He doesn't only care for the animals he also watches over the owners, giving advice and compassion where he felt it was needed. Always available if you need to speak to him. The dogs are extremely comfortable with him. He has a calming effect over the dogs and they seem to know he is helping them. Our pets are part of our family and we consider Dr. Hess and his team to be a large part of our family.

I am a registered cat breeader with a dog. I have been going to them for 6 years with all my animals since I moved here to Milton Ontario. I get all my kittens dewormed & shots there too. I have brought some friends to see Dr Hess when their vets could find out the problem with their pets & Dr Hess would be able figure out what the problem was & cure their pets. Of all the vets I have had in the past 30 years, he has been the best one & I have been with him the longest. They are reasonable in price, very frendly & honest people there, I always leave satisfied.

Our family made the switch to Acton Vet after an emergency visit on my daughters birthday. Her cat came to the back door severely injured that morning. We rushed her to the Acton Vet, where she received immediate care. She had surgery on her leg that day. Thanks to Dr.Hess and his staff, their hard work, caring words and reassurance put a smile back on my daughters face. We took our cat home a few days later, she recovered extremely well with no issues and is walking and running like her usual self.

After being referred to the Acton Veterinary Clinic by a friend, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff, Dr. Hess and Dr. Sharon. At another clinic I was quoted a significantly higher amount for a toothscale for my dog. She also had a lump on her neck that Dr. Sharon examined while I had my dog in for her annual vaccinations. I was able to have her teeth done and have the lump removed for a very good price. I felt confident in entrusting my dog under the care of Dr. Hess and Dr. Sharon, and will be a returning customer for many years to come. The prices are great, the staff really care about the animals, and the facility is very clean and modern. I'm very happy to have found them!

I just have to say how impressed I am with this vet hospital. I brought my cat in because she was not eating and losing weight. Dr. Hess ran a few tests, put her on IV fluids and medicine. She had to stay a few days but when I got her home she was back to her old self. In my opinion, she was very well taken care of by the wonderful staff and vets. My family is so happy to have Sheena healthy again. Thank you!!!

Dr. Hess and his staff go over and beyond the call of duty. My dog has was afraid to enter vet clinics before he went to Acton Vet Clinic. I feel totally confident that my dog is getting the best care he could possibly receive. I can't say enough about the special care and loving kindness that was shown to my dog as if he were the only dog in the world. Thx again Dr. Hess. You are a gem!!!!

Our older dog came down with a mystery ailment which appeared be back related. Surgery was discussed however Dr. Hess treated with medication and rest. Our dog fully recovered. Dangerous and costly surgery was avoided. This is a great clinic which I whole heartedly recommend for top pet care to my friends and family!

My yorkie had knee surgery at this clinic. The staff were so kind and understanding. They didn't mind that I asked 100 questions. I am very pleased with his surgery and the kindness Dr. Hess and Dr. Sharon showed our family over his weeks of recovery.

This is by far the worst vet clinic I have ever been to. To start I have a cat and a dog that were patients here. With my dog, she was a golden retriever. She kept chewing on her paws and she kept having nose bleeds. They charged me so much money on allergy creams, xrays etc and told me that she had just fallen up the stairs and hurt her leg. My dog was supposed to go in to get an xray done on her chest and head and when I brought her in Hess did not do the xray. 5 days later my dog went through complete hell and the tumor in her nose had burst. The emergency vet that I had to take her to said she has no idea how the Acton vet did not notice that my dog was completely full of cancer. This vet knew before she had even done any tested because it was so bad. I had to lay my dog to rest that night because I could not stop the bleeding. If Hess had done his job, my dog would have never had to go through the pain and bleeding she did that night. :( Take my advice.. go somewhere else!

We used to take rabbits here, and the vets were great with them. We took our dog there for yearly shots, and everything went well. When it came time for an emergency surgery, the clinic couldn't give us the time of day. They kept us on hold for ten minutes before telling us to go elsewhere. Not at all impressed. We've since changed vets.

What happened to this place? This clinic was the best, but since Dr. Hess left it has gone to pot. I only kept going because of Dr. Debbie but now I heard she is leaving now. I will never be back. The staff are very rude too and act like know-it-alls.

Dr Hess knows more about an animals health than any other doctor in ontario he is usually right on the first thing he says ,plus he can do almost all surgerys very few vets can do as much as he can or knows how to.

Fabulous vet! Willing to care for animals that many others find too finicky. The compassion shown is extraordinary which is why many rescue organizations feel it is worth the lengthy drive to go to such a wonderful vet practice. The prices are far better than vet clinics in surrounding areas.

This clinic is the absolute best! I am a chihuahua breeder and spend alot of time at the clinic and always get the best of care for my babies and moms. I travel 1.5 hours each way to go to this clinic. Dr Hess is an amazing surgeon and I always recomend him to all my customers, family and friends. Whether it be just for shots or major surgery this is the place where they really care. I cannot say enough great things about Acton Veterinary clinic!!
