Click to report rating    6/15/22   1     1     1     1   University of Guelph Animal Hospital gave this clinic # for a semi-emergent issue (suspected UTI). Had a lovely intake call last night (noting our vet unavailable) & staff asked that I call this morning to see IF the clinic could work us in. Morning staff kept asking questions of our vet clinic (took a few min - thought she was having to contact to get past bloodwork) kept asking me ? about their clinic (her tone was incredibly condescending and I couldn't understand why since I was following their instructions from the night before). She apparently 'found' the clinic # and then become incensed and increasingly rude andtold me their office was open in 1/2 hr. When I told her the vet was unavailable, she said 'most clinics have more than 1 vet'. I said they don't which was why I was asking for help & of U of G gave me your #. I am a doctor, I have NEVER had such a condescending conversation with front staff EVER especially AFTER being instructed to call their office back in the morning RID: 70357

5/12/20   1     1     1     1   . At a different vet, We paid $200 for a splint to be made and placed on our new Tagu lizard... they said they knew how to deal with him. A week later, we got news that he had to have his leg amputated due to it being placed too tightly. Very upsetting. We then took him to this clinic where they couldn’t repair and let him die. Absolutely devastating when they didn’t keep us updated. Definitely will be filing complaints with the veterinary board RID: 69235
Click to report rating    2/20/20   1     1     1     1   All they want is your money they r crooks I wonder how brown sleeps at nite a horrible human being they dont care about your pet at all just how big your wallet is absolutely disgusting RID: 69067
Click to report rating    12/15/18   1     4     1     1   These vets killed my rabbit. It is because of their negligence, their lack of testing and their lack of knowledge that my bunny died. I had a bunny I rescued from the wild - and they treated her like a home bunny (she ended up having a VERY NOTORIOUS lethal parasite which is almost guaranteed with bunny's rescued from the wild, but of course, no one at CEAH told me this until after she died). I was at their clinic some weeks 3 days in a row. She was hospitalized overnight 3 times there, and on the third night she died - a new vet oversaw her and didn't even see me when my bunny died (I was told she was upstairs sleeping). They took $4000 from me, and once I realized they were at fault and left a 1 star google review, Dr. Nickey Brown (the clinic owner) CALLED ME when I was at work and told me not to return to her clinic again. When I asked her to send me this in writing, she hung up on me. This is a pathetic clinic that is only after your money. Do not go here. RID: 67118
Click to report rating    2/24/18   1     2     1     1   Horrible experiences with them - we were clients for years before we finally said enough. The last straw was them refusing to treat our dog who was in critical condition, because we didn't have the $2500 they wanted upfront! They literally gave her to us and said "good luck" Money is the most important thing for these people. My dog needs braces according to them! lol Go to OVC instead - they're amazing!! RID: 65644

1/15/17   2     4     5     1   This business wasn't clear about the outcome of the procedure recommended and therefore after a bill of $2000 the procedure ended negatively. I wouldn't recommend them. RID: 62383
Click to report rating    12/12/16   5     5     5     5   I have been taking my dog to Dr. Katie for 2 years. She has always been exceptional. She has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure not only that my dog has the best care possible, but also that I understand all of the options available for treatment. She always takes her time with explanations and ensures the best possible experience for my dog. Since my dog has seen her since she was a puppy, she LOVES going to the vet and actually gets excited when we pull in the parking lot! The reception staff is also second to none, consistently providing amazing service. I have also seen Dr. Mazzocco and Dr. Pascos and they were both exceptional as well. Highly recommend this clinic if you are looking for a team that really has the best care of your pet in mind! Thanks Campus Estates!!! RID: 62185

4/9/15   5     5     5     5   My family and I have been taking our pets to Campus Estates Animal Hospital for 15 years. All the veterinarians and staff are caring and compassionate. They take the time to explain everything to us. My bunny needed emergency surgery in the middle of the night and he has made a full recovery. We will continue to trust all the team at Campus Estates Animal Hospital for many years. RID: 56580

2/16/15   3     4     4     4   Our experience with Dr. Katie Morin was dissatisfactory. We were hoping for a way to save our beloved rabbit, but were told that he was too weak to be saved, and that euthanasia would be the best option. Dr. Morin rushed through the euthanasia process without offering us a chance to say goodbye or to prepare ourselves. In addition, she left the room immediately after the euthanasia and never came back to ask if we had any questions for her. Dr. Morin could have shown more care and sympathy but obviously she did not offer any of that. We cannot comment on the other vets because this was our only visit to this particular animal hospital. However, we would not recommend Dr. Katie Morin if you want a vet who cares about your pet and sympathises with you when you mourn and go through this difficult process. RID: 55907

Click to report rating    11/3/13   5     5     5     5   Love this clinic. They absolutely saved my beloved rabbit's life, and it was off-hours too and a situation that developed very quickly. Vet techs are also very caring from what I've seen, including the one that nursed my rabbit overnight during that incident. Dr. Brown is the expert for rabbits but I've seen every other vet and all were above-average. Yes, like every vet, they are expensive. It's what it costs. They've never billed me for anything without clearing it with me first. And they even did me a solid a few times and didn't charge for a few things that I know they did, because the bill was getting big. This is the only reliable 24h vet/emerg clinic in Guelph. We are lucky to have them. RID: 48036
Click to report rating    9/20/13   5     5     5     5   Took my 8 year old rabbit here for a potentially very serious issue...left with peace of mind, insight into his overall health, and a bill less than anywhere I have ever taken him before (vets in Sarnia, Brights Grove, and London). The vet (Kim) was fantastic. Very intuitive and caring, and actually knew how to handle a rabbit (sadly hard to find). She was also very upfront about he costs of each thing she did/medication, and how necessary they actually are, and made things as affordable for me as she possibly could. One of the best vet experiences I have ever had. Worth the half hour drive from Elmira. RID: 47080
Click to report rating    4/23/13   4     5     2     2   Nice clinic in handy location. Vets seem good but punctuality has been an issue every visit. I find the "upselling" offensive. RID: 41977
Click to report rating    3/7/13   5     5     5     5   The staff were helpful to get my sick rabbit in ASAP. The vet was extremely knowledgable and caring. The prices are half the price, to what they are inToronto. So I'm not sure why people are complaining about their prices. RID: 40915
2/19/13   4     5     4     5   I have been going to this clinic for a few years, people do not understand the true cost of health care for your animals, if they did realize the true costs of our OHIP program then they would not bad mouth vets and there charges. These people worked their buts off to save my cat, their sole focus is to do what I asked and they did. I was very impressed and gladly payed my bill.Yes it was a steep bill but I got my family member back! Dr. Brown and Dr. Pascos (awesome) are the best. If you cannot afford to take care of your pet as they will eventually need care, then don't have one RID: 40553
Click to report rating    8/31/12   4     4     4     4   I find all the staff easy to talk with, appraochable with questions and with good "bedside manners" with my pets (1 dog & 1 special needs cat). Although not cheap (but what vet is?), I do believe they don't gouge. They offered me options for tests and treatments (conservative route vs more extensive route), explaining both and allowing me to choose which I wanted (I chose one in the middle) & they respected my choice. RID: 36922
Click to report rating    6/9/12   3     5     5     4   On a Sunday we needed emergency care for our old cat and this was the closest clinic. The overall experience was satisfactory and Dr. Brent Fischer appeared caring and competent. The average score on "Staff" is due to the following points which we offer as much for the clinic's review as your's. The receptionist was a little too brusk on the phone though she did soften up in person. We think introductions are important and that we shouldn't have to ask. Finally, we don't feel being asked if you want to pay before or after the pet has been euthanized is appropriate. RID: 34862
Click to report rating    3/14/12   1     2     1     1   I brought a dog in for overnight monitoring of an IV. It was completely ignored, when we picked the dog up the next morning it had an edema the size of a tangerine on the shoulder where the IV went in, that is the worst so-called monitoring I have ever experienced.  2/1/12   4     4     4     4   I have to say I am very surprised by the negative feedback about Campus Estates!!! I have brought my pets here many times, and I have ALWAYS been impressed. I don't think they are all about the money at all, although I think when you bring your pets to a clinic with higher quality equipment for monitoring and treating, and that runs a 24/7 emerg clinic, higher costs come with the territory. But robbing you of money? No way! I brought a newly rescued cat in for a quote for dental work, her teeth were awful. I was quoted $1600, pretty standard. I signed the estimate and brought her in for surgery. Came back to get her and pay, it was $800. If they were trying to rob me blind they could have inflated it to the estimate, but they were honest that it was not as bad as they thought! I have brought in my rabbit for urinary stones, a rescued bird with a cut in his belly and a mouse with a skin tear, and they have always been amazing. Dr. Marco, Dr. Kim Pascos (my FAVOURITE) and Dr. Brown=GREAT RID: 31954
4/19/11   1     3     2     1   WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS BAD EXPERIENCES FROM THIS CLINIC, FROM BOGUS CHARGES ON OUR BILLS (IE:$20.00 PERSCRIPTION CHARGE FOR INSULIN, WHEN YOU DONT ACTUALLY NEED A PERSCRIPTION TO BUY HUMAN INSULIN FOR CATS)....... TO POOR TREATMENT OF OUR ANIMALS (ONCE TRIED TO SHOVE A HUGE PILL INTO OUR KITTENS THROAT UNTIL SHE CHOAKED - FINALLY GAVE SMALLER PILL)......TO EXTREMLY POOR BEDSIDE MANNER - TOLD HUSBAND AND MYSELF OUR CAT HAS A TUMOR AND HE WOULD DIE WITHIN ABOUT 6 WEEKS (THAT WAS OVER 4 YEARS AGO, HE IS STILL ALIVE). ALSO SPENDT $1300.00 ON TESTS FOR MY DOG JUST FOR THEM TO SAY "YEP ITS A TUMOR ON HIS SPLEEN, THERES NOT MUCH WE CAN DO...HE ONLY HAS WEEKS TO LIVE BEFORE IT WILL EVENTUALLY BURST"...U COULD FEEL THAT HE HAD A TUMOR...DIDNT REALLY NEED TO SPEND $1300 FOR SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHAT I ALREADY KNEW AND THEN SAY THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS IS THE WORST VET WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND I FEEL STUPID FOR GOING BACK AS MANY TIMES AS I DID...NEVER AGAIN!!! RID: 24497
Click to report rating    11/3/10   1     1     1     1   Exotic doesn't mean they are experienced in all exotics.I had an iguana that I was worried about. To keep it short, I was concerned about his health, they sent me home, I brought him in again, they did minimal work and sent me home again(but charged me each time). Two weeks later, I was back again. They took him from me, told me he his immune system was breaking down and that he wouldn't make it.I asked if I could take him home, they said no.I made it very clear that if it appeared that he was going to die, that I NEEDED to be there.I waited until morning...calling, calling...they finally answered the phone..to tell me he had died...alone (15 mins before I called). They even used the wrong equipment to listen to his heart(one for warm blooded mammals). Talking to my new vet, it seems he may have had a condition from the start. Their own website stated that blood of the reptile should be tested ASAP.I agree that they used to care when at their old place.never go here. go to kit/cam/wat. RID: 20634
Click to report rating    6/13/10   5     3     3     4   While not the best vet I've ever seen, they are good enough that I drive a half hour for my animals' yearly appointments. We always see Dr. Nickey Brown and she is fantastic. She picked up on my one dog's blind eye and was able to tell us what it was, something previous vets have either not noticed entirely or been unable to explain. She works with us and while she makes us aware of expensive options for some of our pets' issues, she never pushes it and always has cheaper ideas as well. RID: 18360
Click to report rating    6/8/10   5     4     4     1   The vets at this hospital are very knowledgeable with small domestics such as guinea pigs and rabbits, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable (one receptionist remembered me and my pets after not being there for over 2 years!), and the facilities are quite good. I don't go to this hospital on a regular basis due to the costs. Some of the vets often recommend every last diagnostic option which unfortunately isn't realistic for a person on an average income - I luckily have enough medical knowledge and experience with my pets to know which tests to agree to, but most people don't. However if my regular vet were no longer available, Campus would be next in line for me to go to. Their emergency service is amazing, I have utilized it many times and am forever grateful to them for it. RID: 18295
Click to report rating    5/19/10   4     4     4     4   I've had several very different experiences at this vet. Every time I took my parrot or ferret in, they were really great - the vet who treated them was very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind (I can't remember her name, sorry). I've given the clinic an overall good rating largely based on the excellent treatment my parrot and ferret received. On the other hand, I took my dog in (she twisted her knee and was limping very badly), and the vet (Dr. Marco Mazzocco) looked at the WRONG leg, and diagnosed from that. When I corrected him, his response was "Well, it's the same thing" after poking the correct leg for about 10 seconds. I was NOT impressed, and ended up having to take my dog in to my usual vet when the weekend was over. RID: 18019
Click to report rating    3/23/10   1     3     2     1   I will never go back to this clinic. Their service was good before they moved to their new facility, but like other reviewers, I agree that they are now all about the $$. I have spent a fortune there on my two dogs. They understand the pet owners' fear and uncertainty and play into that..recommending unneeded tests and medication. They overcharge for everything! Their support staff is unknowledgeable and uncaring. An example...my dog went in on a Wednesday for blood tests for a very serious condition. She had been there many times previously. They asked if I wanted her nails trimmed and I agreed. When I took her back on Friday (2 days later) because she was not doing well, they asked me again if I wanted her nails trimmed!!?? They don't even bother to look at the chart. You and your pet are just a # with a $ sign on your forehead. Dr. Kim Pascoe is the worst! Yes, the fancy new facility is nice, but paying for it at the expense of your patients is despicable. RID: 17194
Click to report rating    1/12/09   2     2     2     2   I have gone to this vet for my rabbits at least half a dozen times and feel like I was taken for a ride. It seems like Dr. Kim Pascov is only interested in getting you to come back so as to charge you more. It also feels like too much money goes into the "appearance" of the establishment which is strange as it feels really cold and uncomfortable. It makes me think that they are trying to rip off their clients to pay for their fancy building. The services I received for the monetary value is low. I was expected to keep coming every couple of weeks for a very short appt charged a lot, and constantly told to come back. Also, the people at the front desk are useless...after being called and driving all the way in to pick up meds that arrived, the people at the front desk (the people that called me) had no clue who I was or why I was there. I do NOT recommend this vet at all and was very disappointed with the services rendered!!! RID: 11196
Click to report rating    5/13/08   1     2     2     1   I do not like this veterinarian nor would I recommend their services to anyone that loves their animals. The clinic itself feels sterile and cold and the staff are not courteous to you but rude. They cost more than any vet I personally have ever used before, and are not willing to help with payment arrangements for the good of the animal. RID: 8493
Click to report rating    4/17/08   1     3     2     1   I never want to go to this vet again. They cost an arm and a leg, and the vet I saw was very rude to my rabbit and me. I don't know if she is simply bad with people skills or if she really doesn't care about my bunny at all. She kept going back and forth with her advice, it was very difficult to tell which one was the truth. Not only did she not properly treat my baby, she was also very pushy on additional unnecessary services and I did not appreciate that at all. RID: 8129
Click to report rating    11/10/07   5     5     5     5   one of the best places to go for rabbits and other small animals, they know them VERY well and will do everything in their power to get them well. They also have a vet on call 24/7 for emergencies. The only emerg clinic i would ever go with rabbits is this one. RID: 6415
Click to report rating    7/2/07   5     5     5     5   I am absolutely pleased with the experience that I had at this animal hospital. The staff are wonderful and very knowledgable anout small animals. I take one of my bunnies there for her teeth to be trimed semi-annually. The prices are very resonable in comparison with other vets that perform the same procedures. I cannot rave enough about them! RID: 5039
Click to report rating    6/27/07   5     5     5     2   Pricey, yes! But an excellant Emerg. clinic!Been there a couple times ove rthe years. RID: 4895
Click to report rating    6/19/07   5     5     5     4   Although a little far from me, their 24 emergency service has been a life-saver! Extremely well-versed in rabbits and small exotics, they have leading-edge equipment and incredibly knowledgeable staff that are not only helpful, but comforting and understanding as well. A bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny. RID: 4645
