I will be finding a new vet for my next pet. I noticed there seems to be a high turn over rate in veterinary staff, so the continuity in care my cat received was disjointed. New vets didn’t know the history of my cat(s) and when I brought my cat back two weeks later the vet didn’t even remember me. Wanted to charge $25 me to bring her in for regular sub-q fluids, which is something I can easily administer at home simply by giving me refresher lesson and supplies.

took my hamster in for upper teeth trimming. when i was there the experience felt like it was great but after 2 weeks i noticed my hamster still completely unable to eat solid food his teeth still too long. I called in to discuss with the clinic and was told "if you cant afford your hamster give him up to the humane society". I will say this right now having paid $230 i expect the issue to be solved i mean i paid for a teeth trim so my hamster could eat & still cant? I didn't call in saying i wouldn't pay a cent to have it fully fixed i called back in to work something out so my hamster may have a good life. at this point i am not coming back to this clinic for any of my pets. this treatment at the price point is ridiculous I expected better than what i got from that receptionist.----Final note: paid for teeth trimming, teeth were not trimmed anywhere near enough. Paid twice the price i would have if i had just gone to the vet the Guelph emergency staff recommended instead.

Worst vet clinic ever. They kept brushing off our concerns about our cat. He ended up with crystals in his bladder which was diagnosed at an emergency clinic in the middle of the night. We took him back to Amherst the day after that. He caught a secondary infection there. Between the emerg clinic and Amherst that cost us $2000. They put him on a special diet you could only buy there & low and behold he got the same problem. Another $500. They ignored our concerns about his rather large & sensitive stomach. We moved to another clinic but we were too late. My cat had a very large tumour that had blocked off his arteries & took over his liver. Our new vet tried in vain to save his life but he died during the operation. Had they actually run tests in the 4 yrs that we asked it would have been caught in time & he could have been saved. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY AND NOT YOUR PETS.

My parrot had his beak and nails trimmed at this clinic. I should say that my issue is not with the treating doctor (who is no longer there) as he was the only one to provide proper response. The beak trim caused my bird pain. When I called, only other doctors were available who did absolutely nothing. I ended up in an emergency hospital which completed a full exam and blood work. Even after reading reports on the beak trim and seeing normal blood results from the other hospital they could not figure out the issue and were not competant enough to prescribe pain medication. Only asked if new people are in the house that stress the bird?!? Hes fine now (after pain meds). My only reason for writing this is to help other pet owners.Staff seems nice when its time to take your money but be prepared for lack of compassion, rudeness, un professionalism, and overall incompetence if something goes wrong. Please save yourself stress and money. Save your pet suffering. Pay more and go elswhere.

I agree with you, they are money hungry. I have gone there many times with my dog and they couldn't say really what was wrong with him. They gave me 4 different medications for my dog all suggested by many different vets, everytime i went there, i was seeing a new vet with a new analysis, they didn't seem well versed, it was like they were straight out of school - i felt like my Baldwin was a guinea pig, only to find out much later when visiting another clinic that none of these should have been prescribed. Now months later, my dog is dead and had a very painful demise.

Not helpful at all. My poor bird of 6 years was sick, they could not diagnose him with ANYTHING after 3 visits and they tested him for so many different things and gave him 3 different types if medicine. In the end nothing helped and he got worse and eventually died...I would NOT reccommend this place at all. They overcharged me for services I told them I didn't want to do
