Dr Flood BEST vet,but-once new location, not responsive to clients needs, now exceptionally impersonal. Can't get reception OR leave a msg (mailboxes always full!, not even an option on weekends-only their hours or the overpriced emerg on Schmon), website address not updated, actual owners rude, cranky. Especially hard when own an older pet like me.

I grew up taking the family pets here so when I got my own there was no question... Thorold vet is like family and I know they will treat my animals as if they are their own. Always able to get an appointment when I need it and the dogs actually like going there and actually pull into the door and greet the vets and front staff with excitement.

Prior to taking my dogs to Thorold, I was taking them to another vet and felt I was seen as a cash cow with all the tests and shots. NOW I have been taking my dogs and cats to Thorold Vet for years and have been very pleased at the customer care for both myself and the animals. In an emergency, they made room. The need of the pet is foremost and then the cost of the treatment to avoid unnecessary tests and costs. My dog had cysts, Surgery was an option but not recommend as most cysts would return in short order, medication to decrease them the better option but again to extend his quality of life only. I was presented with knowledge and Options, my choice. I took the medication and obtained another good month before the cysts started to interfere with his mobility and cause pain. Rough time, very emotional and the staff very caring in his final moments. More tests, surgery, cost and treatment,would not change the outcome.I honestly feel I received valuable knowledge, care and services.

Most caring Vets ever. Staff is wonderful. People have to remember the front staff are not Vets and can't answer a lot of you questions. Give them a break. Back staff very gentle with my dogs. Dogs never like going because they get needle etc. Just like us, who likes to go to the dentist. I recommend this clinic very highly. Just stay away from the after hours clinic near brock. Dr. Rachel rocks.

I have been coming here for about 25+ years. Recently we had a dog from the Humane Society that was possibly having a problem. It was closing time, but they took a look at her & advised to come in the next morning for x-rays. She was then set up for surgery. They saved her life. The staff is great & they feel like family. I would definitely reccomend them.

I got a puppy from the Humane Society and brought her there for a general check up and to see what shots she needed. I had my husband take her in the morning as he works afternoons. The first time they never mentioned shots and just weighed her (for $80). The second time I called (puppy is now 5 months), I made the appointment for for booster and rabies shots. They weighed her and charged us $80. Again they didn't mention giving her shots. I'm sure I could buy a scale for less than the $160 they've charged me. I now need to find another vet to take her to as she does need an accurate assessment and she still needs her shots.

I recently got a new puppy and brought him to the clinic as we bring our other dog here. First, the receptionist had told me to bring him in for shots as he was due for his next set and when I showed up I was told that it was too early for shots and asked what I was doing there. The vet did a check up anyways and told me that the puppy looked healthy and was fine just by glancing at him. I was unhappy with the service so I made a vet appointment at a different clinic in St. Catharines. Well this vet, she took detailed notes about him and his background and his situation with me and what I feed him and how he acts etc.. Takes an ear swab for possible ear mites and sets him up for a stool sample as he is overly skinny. Well it turns out he has parasites and needs medication. Sure, the Thorold clinic is very affordable - but apparently you get what you pay for. I would NOT recommend this clinic. Pay a bit more and get a vet who truly cares about the animal.

This one of the best vets I've ever used. The doctors are very attentive and caring, and go out of their way to help their patients. The support staff are wonderful too, compassionate and knowledgeable. We've had rabbits, guinea pigs, a hedgehog and a dog to see the vets here, and they have all received top-notch care.

I love my Vet Dr. A Ker. I have designer Rabbits. There is never been a time that Dr. Ker has been able to help my animals. There are only 2 Exotic Vets in Niagara. He kind...honest and knows everything. The best! Sandy Pilot

They might be good with dogs and cats, but do not take your small animals there (especially chinchillas!) I found myself explaining things about chinchilla's to the doctor. He ran no tests, I showed him a common problem with chinchillas and he said he didn't know what it was. My 10 minute session cost me $60. It was the biggest waste of time and money, and my poor chinchilla had to wait out his sickness.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Never been here before, had a guinea pig with an injured leg. Dr. Ker's staff got me in within thirty minutes and I live in another city several kilometres away. Extremely professional and caring, Dr. Ker knows exactly what he is talking about. More than fair pricing as well. My animals all now have a new Doctor! :)

Have been going to Thorold Vet Clinic for at least 10 years with cats and dogs. This office has become increaingly busier and busier and many times I call all day and continue to get a busy signal. But I have nothing bad to say about the care and service they provide once you get through to book your appointment. They are caring and compassionate, knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

I have been taking my animals here for almost 2 years now and they are the most caring people ever. The one vet there that is always wearing a green top is so sweet and loving, and cares about the animals. She is so knowledgeable. The prices are fair as well not over priced. The front staff could use a little work, one seems a bit fake but still nice people. This is a very busy place but worth it.

I have been to a few vet clinics in this area, and this clinic was BY FAR, the WORST place I have ever been to. My dog was so scared when the doctor brought him back to me after taking him to the back to get blood from him. He was breathing so hard and salivating like I have never seen him do before! The doctor I saw was so fake! Their prices definately do reflect their knowledge!

Brought my great dane in on a tuesday with all the signs and symptoms of thrombocytopenia, they told me nothing was wrong. Friday, Three days later I brought him back and the next day I had to euthanize him. His internal bleeding was so bad there was nothing they could do. Never bring your pet here. seems like their price reflects their knowledge.

The staff here are very caring and obviously enjoy caring for their animal patients. I have had great care for my daughter's hamsters, and my small dog.

I switched to this vet after having a spay done at my old vet that ended up costing $105 more than probable estimate. This vet is reasonbly priced, and I have had good experiences since changing to them. They have been helpful, polite, and friendly. And, on a disability income, I can afford to go there. I have friends who are breeders who take all their dogs there and are very happy with the service and care.

This vet office is a really busy place, I imagine because the vets are very knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable. I have been 3 times now and they have treated my animals with the best care. My one dog requires extra attention due to vaccine reactions (which she was getting when we were at a different vet office). This year, with the right treatment and medication she did not have a reaction. They willingly kept my dog there for several hours to monitor her each time. Would recommend this place most definitely!
