Click to report rating    3/6/19   4     4     5     1   First visit to clinic with healthy cat. Changed vets because husband passed away and had to find new vet close to home. Had records transferred to McL same day close to Christmas. Needed only a nail trim—expected $10 -$15 charge, perhaps complimentary for new client. Charged $28 for service! Not sure if I will return. Perhaps I ought to have spoken up, but still in grief over recent loss of husband, and not wanting stress. RID: 67435
Click to report rating    11/30/18   1     1     1     1   my dog went here as a puppy. My brother got the vet plan that covers vaccinations, spaying etc. Sadly, 5 weeks ago my 16 month old baby passed away (please note: we now go to a different vet!). I have a puppy who is on a vet plan at another vet.Today he received a vaccination to protect against leptospirosis. I didn't know what this shot was so I decided to google it. MOST of the symptoms explained what happened to my baby. I called McLean to ask if my dog was given the shot and they said no and it was a choice. Yet on there website the plan only excludes 2 shots.. and this shot is not listed. I want to know why my baby was NOT given this shot. If McLeans did what they were suppose to my baby may still have been here today!!!! PLEASE choose another vet or make sure that you are getting all the shots needed. RID: 67067

5/25/17   2     3     5     1   This vet clinic is very good at encouraging you to enrol in the annual optimum care plan which costs $ 776.71 (including a non refundable enrolment fee and taxes) for a puppy..mine already had his first shots and deworming at the breeder's vet and McLean clinic did not discount this from their plan. My puppy only had initial vet visit at McLean for a vet check and fecal test the day after I got him from the breeder then visits for 2nd and 3rd puppy vaccines and a couple of dewormings and 2 nail clipping twice and I got charged $484.65 when I cancelled the plan. Unbelievable!! You get charged full price for all services and the enrolment fee is not refunded when you cancel the plan. I asked for itemized charges to explain the $484.65 charges and apparently I have to wait for a week for that info!! Very disappointed! I would definitely not recommend this clinic. RID: 63721
Click to report rating    3/16/17   5     5     5     5   Love this place. Took my new fur baby for his 16 week visit and I will never go anywhere else. Dr Ana and the staff were so kind to Geordi and to me, a nervous mom. They have monthly plans that cover all your pets regular health check up, vaccines and even spay/nutuer. One monthly fee covers everything and eases the cost of pet ownership! RID: 63053

4/4/15   5     4     5     5   I have been bringing my pets to McLean Animal Hospital for the past 25 years. Consistently the Staff and Vets have demonstrated a high-level of medical expertise and professionalism within a caring and compassionate environment. Most recently I have had to face the very difficult and sad decision to have one of my precious cats put down. This was a very devastating decision to make, however, the Staff at McLean's made a tragic situation bearable. I could not have asked for a kinder, more sensitive group of people to help me make this decision. Dr. Colyer was the primary Vet involved and his gentleness, expertise and sensitivity were absolutely astounding. He and the Staff fully understood what my cat meant to me and knowing this, were able to assist me in making and respecting my decision to end her suffering. No greater honor or rating can be given to the Staff/Vets of McLean's than to say that I entrusted them with the life of my precious little one, and would do so again.. RID: 56513

5/27/14   5     4     5     5   I have been a client since i got my pup in my 2009. SHe has had complicated health issues since birth and the staff have been incredibly supportive. They are attentive, work with me to care for her in a cost effective way and make us feel like family. They offer many no charge services such as dental exams, follow up calls and checks and workshops/education sessions. I find their prices to be reasonable and have never felt pressured into high cost procedures. I have worked with all the staff at some point and I can only say good things about them all. Knowledgable and professional. I only knock down facilities one star because it is not a new shiny building like the new emergency hospital but the facilities are completely clean, bright and appropriate. RID: 51805
Click to report rating    12/31/13   5     4     5     4   We got our puppy in February and I researched some animal clinics online and found this one to be the overall best. I wouldn't know about pricing, however since my dog has this unknown condition, I sometimes need to go there once a week or more, they haven't charged me for a couple of visits. Dr. McIninch is awesome. She is very understanding and never rushes you even if you have a million questions. She often returns calls on her day off - she genuinely cares about your pet's well being. I wouldn't hesitate to book her but she's only there 3 days a week. Front desk staff and assistants are good too. I also groom my dog there (better than Petsmart). RID: 49011
Click to report rating    11/14/13   3     3     3     2   The clinic has had changes new vets, they push expensive tests feel like a sales call rather then wellness for my cat RID: 48262
Click to report rating    10/23/13   5     5     5     4   Been using McLeans for approx 45 yrs through 3 dogs & 4 cats always happy with vet, techs, service. Recently had my golden retr groomed there was thrilled with results and amazed and happy with cost will def do again would recommend them RID: 47822
Click to report rating    8/2/13   2     5     5     1   They are friendly, but are always trying to up sell, they are also pretty expensive for basic things. RID: 46046
Click to report rating    5/27/13   4     4     4     3   The staff at McLean Animal hospital are phenomenal, always friendly and helpful. I enjoy my visits with Dr. Cutler she seems to be genuinely concerned about the animals. She recommends procedures, but does not push them as other vets do. Costs may seem high, but I am still willing to pay for the services I receive and at the end of the day it is my choice as to what I will pay for or not. I have heard heard horror stories about other clinics and am very happy with McLean. RID: 42755
Click to report rating    3/10/13   5     1     2     1   I really love this clinic, but every time there's always locum/new vets there. I really love Dr.Cutler but I dont see her anymore. Will she ever be back.....Everything changes in this hospital and the prices are way toooooo much. I really miss the old staff. And I also notes that the facilities are not to good like before. What the owners need to do is build a healthier hospital. they can afford it because they have some many hospitals in ontario. RID: 40975

7/30/12   5     5     5     5   My wife and I want a vet we can trust. We want to know that they are treating our dog as their own; and want to feel we matter as customers. With Dr. McIninch all of these needs are beyond fulfilled. During consultations she is very thorough and technically skilled, but also gentle and considerate with our dog. She takes the time to explain every test she does and why; even responding to the endless barrage of questions thrown her way. Her consideration for our understanding of our dog’s condition and peace of mind is amazing. Dr. M has made herself available to discuss our dog’s condition throughout his treatment and listens attentively to our updates. When it comes to procedures, Dr. M offers several options. She always makes sure we understand what the tests involve and will cost, and what the results of these tests might mean. We have never been surprised or unsatisfied with any of the costs we’ve incurred, and we truly feel this is the best vet we can ever remember dealing with. RID: 36172

Click to report rating    7/16/12   2     2     2     2   Not a fan. Didnt like the vet. sometimes you just get that feeling, and with this one I felt like they just didnt care. They try to upcharge ALOT, and they couldnt give me a clear diagnosis. I left this clinic feeling dissatisfied and alittle confused, with more questions then answers. RID: 35668

4/9/11   5     5     5     5   the staff is really great, as is their treatment of our pets. excellent vet clinic. RID: 24264
Click to report rating    1/29/11   5     5     5     5   I love this clinic!!! Even though they have had some changes with their vets over the years, I still go to Mcleans because the all the other staff is still there and they know my dog so well. They are a great group people, always pleasant and I trust them with my dog 100%. In terms of cost, I find most clinics are expensive, but I would pay any amount to bring my dog here, it's so worth it for the care they give! RID: 22464
Click to report rating    11/9/10   5     5     5     5   Best vet clinic I have been to in 25 years of cat ownership. Would definitely recommend. Not sure about the price comments here as there is no noticeable difference from my previous clinic. RID: 20739
Click to report rating    9/15/10   3     3     3     2   I'm not a big fan. Far too costly for the exact same treatments I can get at other clinics. They charge too much for the current economic times. RID: 19734
Click to report rating    9/6/10   5     5     5     4   I would pay for the great service they give here...no doubts about these vets for my dog. RID: 19600
Click to report rating    9/2/10   3     5     5     2   I stopped going to Mcleans once it changed ownership and Dr Hammond left. The vets that own this clinic now I feel charge way too much for the same service I can get at the clinic I go to now. RID: 19535
Click to report rating    6/6/10   2     3     5     2   I did not like the new vet they got, he seems a bit uptight. They had another vet but she left and she was awesome. The front desk staff are really good tho, but the prices are high, especially after getting second opinions. RID: 18269
Click to report rating    8/20/09   5     5     5     5   We love Mcleans and so does our dog! She loves visiting and because of her special food needs, we are there a lot. They are always friendly and consistent in ordering her food and calling us when it is ready. Would readily recommend them. RID: 13926
Click to report rating    12/6/08   5     5     5     5   I honestly can't imagine taking my animals anywhere else. I have two rabbits and two cats, I love the staff but as far as veterinarian I would have to suggest Dr Hammond. The other vets are amazing but Dr Hammond just has this energy and love for the animals she treats that I haven't seen in any other vet, she's also the only vet there that treats rabbits, so make sure to ask for her if you have bunnies. They also do a lot of follow up, when my animals have gone in for surgery I always receive a call right after surgery and a call a few hours later to update me on their condition, both calls are made personally by the vet. They also offer a free check up a week later to monitor healing. RID: 10814
Click to report rating    8/13/07   5     5     5     5   I want to say that we have had dogs for the majority of our lives, and been through many different vets and vet clinics. Never have we experienced such professional and friendly service from everyone we came in contact with. Everytime we bring our dogs in to see them, they make us feel as though our dogs are part of their family as well. Highly, highly reccomended! RID: 5571
Click to report rating    6/28/07   5     5     5     5   I am going to admit 100% with the previous evaluation. McLean's is WONDERFUL! They really care! From the front desk staff to the vet techs to the vets, everyone makes you feel really at home and they have taken wonderful care of my pup! RID: 4962
Click to report rating    1/30/07   5     5     5     5   I moved to this vet after being very unhappy with my previous one. They are AMAZING! The place is clean, the staff are wonderful and personable. They make you feel like they truely care. There are 4 vets on site so you have access to four opinions instead of one. They will take as much time as you need to answer your questions or concerns, and even call to do a follow up to see how your animal is doing. They have gone out of their way to help me time after time when my cat is sick! I highly recommend them! (we have 5 cats total in this house) and they are great! RID: 2322
