They have brought her through a difficult time last year and today she had an awesome appointment. Her body is as firm as a 6-7 year old, her teeth were fine etc and overall very good. She was difficult as usual hissing and growling but Dr Marsig is so patient with her. We will go no where else at all. If you want an honest Vet who really cares, thsi is where you need to take your pets for care My cat is called Princess and i am her proud mama RID: 52720

Click to report rating    4/16/09   1     3     1     1   First off I felt they were extremely expensive...I spent over $5000. My Golden Retiever had to have her pelvis broke to get to a tumor to remove it. She was sent home not eating and in bad condition. I had to force feed her after so many days. I was considering I made a mistake on having her go through surgery...and was thinking of letting her go. I went on line and looked up her medication and to find out (myself) that her pain pills could be why she was not eating. Then one night her belly opened up and was bleeding....this was around 3 AM....we rushed her back to the hospital. When it comes for this vet hopital to call you back......they call at the very end of they day. When I called I would like to know the condition of my dog and what was going on! No one during the day will let you know (even with all the staff they have) It seems rude and frustrating not knowing what is going on. That was my biggest frustration...was them not letting me know....that I would rate a 0! RID: 12467
Click to report rating    7/17/07   5     5     5     5   My cat was a patient at this hospital for the majority of his almost 18 years of life. Earlier this year he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He was seen by several different veterinarians there, all of whom took the time to explain to me what our options were and really seemed to care about my cat. They were there for me when I decided not to prolong my cat's suffering and then afterwards, they sent cards, gifts and flowers to my home to express their condolences. I cannot say enough how grateful I am that my cat received his medical care at VCA West Los Angeles. RID: 5250
Click to report rating    11/16/06   1     1     1     1   I took my dog to this vet hospital for 4 years. I changed and found out that she had terminal renal failure. The new vet looked over the records from VCA and found out that they could have saved my beautiful dog if they had bothered to read the records. You see a different vet everytime. They are extremely expensive. I was told that the tech assistants to all of the surgery as the vets do not have time and make all the phone calls to clients. The vet I go to now does their surgery and will only let the assistants help. The vet I go to now phoned me and then phoned me when our dog died. Our little dog had wonderful care, but died because she was not taken care of by VCAWLA. I spent thousands of dollars there. RID: 746
Click to report rating    10/24/06   5     5     5     5   I raced into this hospital one night when my cat had a heart attack. I was devestated of course, not knowing what had happened to him. The staff whisked my pet to a table to try to revive him. The staff was very consoling and comforting. The veterinarian on staff came out and gave me the news that my cat was already deceased, but her tact and professionalism helped me in such a difficult time. I asked for a necropsy to be done. The results were in the next day; I was called into a special lounge set up for grieving owners and the same veterinarian explained to me in detail about my cat's heart attack and apparent congenital heart defect. The staff at the facility took care of transferring my cat's body to the animal burial services I wished for. They charged me an after-hours emergency fee and a necropsy fee. . nothing more. I can't say enough how they helped me through such a difficult situation. RID: 178
