5/23/17   2     4     2     2   We brought our dog here because they were sick and it was closer than their regular vet. I echo one of the other reviews about billing: they ordered several tests, and then more tests - exploratory surgery was also recommended at one point - for what appears to have been a minor infection. They also DEMANDED payment even though the dog's case wasn't closed, but provided no invoice, indication, etc. of what I was actually paying for. I feel duped and incredibly disappointed with the overall experience. RID: 63708
Click to report rating    3/2/15   1     1     2     1   As a first time dog owner, I think it is safe to say that ensuring you choose a great vet is quintessential. As a first time owner there are many things to learn and you put great trust in your vet to offer the best possible care... My first visit at Smith Vet went well and I was pretty confident with my choice. What happened next is DISGUSTING & PATHETIC!! I was given a standard Deworming Tablet to give to my puppy. After looking at the packaging in closer detail I discovered that the Tablet was EXPIRED & THE WRONG DOSE (MG's). As a concerned first time dog owner, I called the vet in a panic. They were quick to offer a credit for the price of the pill ($7.00). I then received a call from the "Office Mgr" who informed me that they will no longer welcome me & my dog to the clinic as I was "rude" to the receptionist. Is this place for real?!?!?! Please, don't invest in a vet that will fire its clients when they screw up. RID: 56097
9/26/13   1     1     1     1   This is the worst clinic. All they are interested in is billing and will do as many tests as possible, just so they can charge. I took my dog to the clinic for his entire life, as I thought that it was best for him to have consistency. I thought it was the best decision for my dog but I was wrong. I wish I had changed clinics much sooner. In the end, they didn’t even have the decency to express condolences on his loss. And I am so grateful that he spent his last visit for his final rest at a much more caring and considerate veterinary clinic. Do yourself a favour, and stay away from that horrible place. RID: 47228
Click to report rating    11/15/11   5     5     3     3   This vet clinic is very knowledgeable. The front staff are very friendly and willing to accomodate. Prices are comparable to other clinics in the area. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anybody who truly cares for their pets well being. RID: 29154
4/5/11   1     4     4     1   Smith vet clinic tried to charge $1500.00 for our new 3 year old cat's mouth extractions. We had our cat's mouth done at another clinic 2 weeks later. No teeth needed to be removed - cleaning only and the bill was $135.00. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone ever. On top of that they were rude and insulting. RID: 24135
5/7/10   2     2     3     1   my dog came down with an auto immune condition where his body basically rejected his nails. all the vets there had no idea what it was. although rare, we figured it out ourselves online in a day - SLO. they thought it was some fungus infection on one nail. in addition to their lack of knowledge, at one point, they shaved a section of his hair for a needle, but shaved it way too close - so much so that a scab formed. i brought him back the next day and they wanted to charge me for the cream to treat the scab they inflicted. that was my last interaction with them. hear it was a lot better under dr smith. now - no medical knowledge, and money hungry.
