Best vet I've encountered. Dr. Cara Roten takes her time with your pet and shows a genuine interest. I am a part time resident in the High Country and have been a dog owner my entire life. I had a horrible experience with my Great Dane who died when bitten by a snake. I was going to a different vet then who did not give the proper treatment and showed no sympathy toward my suffering animal. I don't think I would have lost my precious pet if Dr. Roten had been my vet at that time. The boarding facilities are also as good as a kennel gets. My 3 dogs are happy there and the staff is attentive. It is good to have confidence that my dogs are well cared for. Overall, the costs are in line and compared to my home city, economical. The only charge I disagree with is $10 for a prescription if you want to get heartworm meds from an online service instead of Dr. Roten. Since I am away 1/2 the year I must order online at times and the charge from Dr. Roten is unavoidable. A small price to pay.

Dr Roten is the best vet in the high country. unfortunatly, over the past few years, like people doctors have, the staff have become versed in seling additional medicines and squeezes as many visits into the schedule. Dr.roten is great but now you can only catch a glimpse of her genius between 2 techs and fecal tests and a quickie on the nails. Cara's the best but she's no country vet any more.
