This vet came highly recommended to me, however I am extremely disappointed to say, I had a very bad experience with him. He misdiagnosed my pet - I cannot say whether intentionally or not - and wanted to perform an unnecessary "emergency surgery" on my pet, without any substantial diagnosis to qualify such a motion. He said without surgery my pet would DIE. Furthermore, he was unable to tell me how much it would cost and made me wait for a very long time before he came back to the room. He started treating other patients and avoided me when I would ask questions about my pet or any costs. He was rude and very hostile towards me and towards his staff, screaming at them in the hallways for all the clients to hear. Very bad attitude and not caring whatsoever. Thank God I took my pet to another vet for a second opinion because my pet is doing just fine now and did NOT need any surgery, just some antibiotics. In my opinion, if you care about your animals, DO NOT GO TO THIS VET.

Dr. Scherr is an excellent diagnostician, and has onsite chemistry analyzer, surgical laser, EKG, x-ray, as well as outstanding monitoring equipment including BP for cats. Among other things, I have used him for extremely difficult diagnoses, orthopedic surgeries, and excellent management of complex chronic conditions. He is conservative in the tests he recommends, often encouraging observation when an animal was not in immediate danger when other clinics had recommended surgery or extensive testing. I have taken over 500 animals to him (I rescue dogs and cats), and have always been extremely satisfied with the care we have received. He emphasizes preventive care including proper weight management and dental care, avoids over-vaccination, and will make referrals to specialists when he feels a case is beyond his expertise. He communicates openly, will pull out texts to show clients relevant information, and works tirelessly to stay current on changes in veterinary medicine.
