Our dog had a seizure and was put on a fluid pack at the facility which was fine but they wanted to keep him for "observation" and charge us major bucks for it. When we refused, we were told it was "against medical advice." He was fine the next day and at home.

My dog had life-saving surgery at the CARE Center and I was truly impressed with the compassion and concern that was shown to me and my family as we were going through this very difficult time. Everyone from the staff that greeted us to the nurses and doctors that took care of our beloved "family member" treated us with respect. We were always made to feel welcome to check in on our dog and felt he was receiving the best of care at all times. I hope no one has to go through what we did for our dog but if you do, I would highly recommend the CARE Center for their level of expertise and caring staff. What a top notch facility!

CARE Center is an amazing vet. They helped my dog when he was very sick and provided great care to him while he was hospitalized. The Dr explained everything clearly to make me understand and the staff was wonderful when I called for updates. I would go back in an instance and WILL recommend CARE center to everyone I know. You guys are great!

We took our cat right after midnight for potentially being "plugged" on April 14th. They that he did not seem to be plugged, but sent us home with a nearly $160 bill, about $70 of which were two prescriptions. The next morning, our normal vet called asking us NOT to give him any more of these prescriptions (we had given one dose), and suggested an antibiotic. After a discussion with Dr. Carey, one of the owners, they refused to do anyting to help us by meeting us halfway on what we think was an amount of drug for a much longer time than needed. We asked if they might provide a reasonable discount on another visit if needed during the next year to , but Dr. Carey felt this was not reasonable solution. We suggest going to the Emergency Veterinary Clinic on Redbank Road, which we hear is less expensive and more reasonable. It's a shame medical people think they are above providing value, thinking through only giving a day or two of medication and negotiating in "gray" areas like this.

Do not expect speedy response to your animal's treatment, especially if requiring surgery. Our experience during the treatment of our dog was not very positive.

Communication is very weak, did not offer much information as far as options available to my animal and after taking my animal to another vet I called to discuss and was only offered an oral apology for the treatment. NEVER going there again & will tell EVERYONE I know with or without animals not to go there. They seem to be in it for the money ONLY. The entry previous to this seems to have an animal they would LOVE to see all the time (at $5000). My animal was in pain from swelling but they sent him home with me & did not return a message left about his continued swelling for more than 12 hours. (They only called back b/c I called again to see if they got the message) I took my animal to another vet where I was able to get answers and communication. Very frustrating for this to be a 24/7 Center, but you could not get information on your animal after the hours of 5:00 (which seems quite ironic to be a 24/7 place). New vet solved in two days what they couldn't in over a week.

This facility is an emergency hospital as well as a specialty clinic (cardiology, oncology, orthopedic surgery, soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, etc.) with state-of-the-art equipment. They truly do some amazing things there for pets. It's almost as advanced as a people ER. They've saved my dog's life on more than one occasion. Although they do have a couple of bad eggs working there, on the whole the staff is caring and curteous. It *is* very expensive to have your pet treated there, but what you have to understand is that there aren't any pet HMOs (that I know of), so all treatment is a la carte and the financial responsibility lies on you solely. Over the past few years, I've spent close to $5000 on just one of my dogs there. He is kind of a "special needs kid". I guess it just depends on the individual pet owner as to how to put a value on your pet's life. It's been financially exhausting, but my doggie is still alive and is happy.
