They systematically remove negative reviews on the popular review site. I’ve been searching for a new vet and noticed that compared to a few months ago many 1-star ratings and negative reviews have disappeared. It’s obvious that this clinic is illegitimately flagging legitimate reviews and getting them removed. Also obvious is that many 5-star ratings without reviews get posted at an unrealistic rate. They must think potential clients are stupid. Won’t bring my pets to such obvious phoneys. It warns of high risk of very poor care for my beloved pets. I thought I would warn others.
Also, it is very useful to read the “Read this rating’s feedback” sections on this site. It is quite evident the level of dishonesty and hurtful this clinic is capable of.

I am incredibly impressed with Dr. Enna Hughes and associates (Dr. Emily Yu, Dr. Monica MacIsaac) and the clinic staff!!! They are caring, knowledgeable, genuinely compassionate and fully interested in our pet’s well being!! They go out of their way to make time for our dog to be seen if there’s a health concern requiring clinical attention. The clinic is always spotless, and they have a lovely fenced in yard attached to the clinic. I love that they take the time to explain everything and anything, and follow up by phone to check-in and see how our dog is after any health concern. They also sell great products and dog food, at reasonable prices. No price gouging! I can’t recommend Don Head Village Animal Clinic highly enough!

Dr. Enna Hughes is the first vet my cat has seen who has spent a lot of time explaining to me, in detail, about my cat's blood and urine test results. This has allowed me to pray specifically for my cat's kidneys with my Christian friends which has led to a complete (miraculous) recovery. Her encouraging comments about my prayers shows me her humble heart. Coupled with her great knowledge and skills, she's a definite blessing!

Best animal clinic. I am so glad that we chose Don Head Animal Clinic. Great service , very kind and friendly staff. I can always trust them. They don’t try to sell on unnecessary tests like other clinics do. The people who make up this clinic are amazing. I could not have asked for a better group of professionals to help treat my dog.

Unforgivable. I agree with the reviewer of 03/22/19 and I offer my heartfelt condolences. I know how much pain you are in. Dr. Hughes put my cat through a lot of hell because of her lack of: care, investigation, monitoring, follow up. She chooses when to provide adequate service depending on if it suits her, who the client is, the money. My cat suffered far more than she had to and passed away sooner than what was uncontrollable because of it. Beware also of other things that happen there because of their unfairness and inequality towards patients, and their prejudice against the client’s own views/beliefs and knowing their own pet. I post a bad google review and it keeps mysteriously disappearing. Bad reviews not allowed on that website? I will keep fighting in honour of my baby. I cry for her every day. I love you my baby.

Cat died of insulin complications DKA due to negligence of this clinic. Cat diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Hughes did not show up to discuss her condition on Jan 3 & a young technician showed up to demonstrate injection. When asked about details, they sent me an email on what to watch out . No vet talked to me. Cat's glucose was still high after the 2 week checkup and no actin done. Hired their cat sitter to care for cat for 5 days. she noticed cat not eating & said she talked to vet. I called 4 times between Feb 20-23 to say that cat was losing a lot of weight. vet called back on 22nd at 9 pm. & I missed her call. I called back & no one called me even after my cat went into hospital on feb 23. they never did glucose cycle nor followed up after I called. They are negligent. most staff are young. The owner Dr. Hughes never bothered even when I sent message. No one followed up when I said she did not eat on Feb 23. My cat went into the hospital & now died. Cared $ & not patients.

I consider this clinic and the amazing team of women that work here to be like an extension of my family. I’ve been taking my dogs to Don Head Village Animal Clinic for many years (15+) now, and I would never consider going anywhere else. I would never trust anyone else to look after my dogs. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the endless patience and consideration of the team, I always feel my dogs are well taken care of. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful minds of all 3 doctors within the practice, and their dedication and passion is consistent across the board. The technicians are incredible and always eager to help or assist in any way possible. They take the time to follow up, no matter how small the problem, and are very patient with any questions or concerns along the way. I cannot express how truly grateful I am to this clinic for all they do.

They don't care about your pet's health,all they care about is getting a big fat paycheck.They charged $700 for a single visit,to run every single test they could,so after $700 for tests, Dr. Adrienne Wong then prescribed medication for $100,so a single visit cost $800 plus tax(so $904).Then they call me every couple of months to say "oh we miss your cat, you should come in for another visit." They use this place as a money making scheme,when I told them my cat is getting sick with the medication,they said well come in and they'll run more tests and prescribe some more meds.Then they send me a Christmas card with all of their signatures,a total marketing tool:when they made my cat sicker.Also they claimed they couldn't perform a certain procedure even though it is advised on their website,and I called ahead to make sure they did,instead Dr. Wong referred me to a 24 hours vet hospital in Toronto which is extremely expensive.A Total bait and switch.Find a New Vet. Avoid this place. Bad.

I've been a client with my pets at this veterinary clinic for about twenty years and have experienced only excellence here, from all the staff. All the vets I've had here, from Evie Hertzberg through Maret Aun and Enna Hughes (these are the only vets who've seen my pets here) have been top-flight people and professionals who truly care about providing the very best for our pets, as well as compassion, good communication and education for pet owners. I would continue to go to Donhead Village Animal Clinic, if we were not moving 50 miles away. Very sorry to leave such a great clinic and people. I give this clinic my highest recommendation.

If you want a clinic that loves your animals as much as you do this is the place! The staff are all very knowledgeable and treat them as if they were their own. Dr. Hughes is always willing to answer all your stupid questions to try and understand what's going inside your fluffy friends. The receptionists and assistants are all friendly and have compassion in bad times. The only bad side is because they are such an amazing clinic sometime you wait past your appointment time, which I'm more than happy to, worth the wait.

This was my first visit to DHVAC, we brought our rescue kitten to the vet clinic to have a wellness check. I only have wonderful things to say about this clinic. I emailed in to find out the fees for a wellness exam/check and got a response within the hour and was able to get an appointment the same day. ALL the staff were very friendly and were easy to talk to (which is very important to me). Dr. Rattray was great. She answered any questions and concerns we had and handled our scared kitten with ease. I loved the fact that she opened his carrier and let him come out on his own and was very gentle and slow with her approaches towards him (this was only his second visit ever to the vets). I felt that the staff were knowledgable and were great with animals. I will be using this vet clinic as my main vet from here on out. I would highly recommend this vet clinic to other people looking for caring people to look after your fur babies.

Our 3rd cat, 2 years old Zara, was diagnosed by Dr. Hughes with heart murmur & overly enlarged heart, despite her medical chart from Vaughan Animal Services being all good. There were endless extra steps that Dr. Hughes had done to arrange promptly Zara’s appointments with the specialists incl. multiple cardiologist' consultations to insure that the treatment plan is absolutely the best. For almost two years, together we took great care of Zara.
Sadly this heart condition cannot be reversed, but Zara comfortably enjoyed her life two years longer than she would have thanks to Doctor Hughes' substantial experience & love, not to mention her generosity throughout this entire struggle & especially when we knew the end was near. Dr. Hughes is an amazing human being who is caring for her patients from the bottom of her heart & her expertise is outstanding. She is nothing but true to herself, to her patients & their owners.
We stand by Dr. Enna Hughes as an outstanding vet.& a fine person.

THE BEST CLINIC! I can't say enough about Don Head Village Animal Clinic. We have 4 cats and when one became sick I needed to find a new vet fast. I was reluctant and scared to try a new vet so I looked up this site and saw the ratings. The rating should be a 5! The staff care so much for your loved ones and really know how to comfort you. I can't say enough about how skilled they are. We've been to 3 different vets in Markham but choose to travel to Don Head (30 mins away)so we can give our cats the best care in the area. I've never had it where I could trust a vet completely and at Don Head, Dr. Hughes and Dr. Wong are knowledgeable, comforting and will always take the time to speak with you. The clinics Vet techs are amazing and you can tell they love what they do and care. They’re the first clinic where I've seen a genuine and loving staff that cares for your family as if they are their own. The entire staff is exceptional at what they do and I have to say we're lucky to have them.

Dr. Hughes is great! Easy to talk to and understand. Will take the time to listen to your concerns and questions. She won't brush off any questions or concerns you may have regarding treatments or procedures, as unnecessary. They won't try to 'up sell' you on things your pet doesn't actually require. The Clinic is Clean, Bright & Welcoming. All the staff are nice, and make you feel more like a friend or family member, than a customer. They all in this line of work for the betterment of the animals, than they are just to make big bucks. :) Thanks for the good work you do.

The vets and staff the work at this clinic are truly amazing. They really care about their clients and make you feel like you are part of the family. They never rush you during appointments, and will answer any and all questions or concerns you have with attention and patience. You can call any time and they'll answer any question you have, or will call you back as soon as they are able to get you an answer. You you not regret booking an appointment with this clinic! My dog loves and I mean LOVES the vet and everyone at the clinic. She gets so excited the minute we turn into the parking lot. My only issue is I honestly have a terrible time getting my dog to leave after her appointment, she never wants to leave! Gets too much love and treats while there :). Make an appointment your pet will thank you!!!!

Dr. Hughes is the best vet anyone can hope for. She stayed extra hours because our kitten was really sick. Very experienced and gave us information that other vets could not provide, really caring for animals. All the staff are very nice too and we're just so glad we found this place before it was too late. If this vet clinic is accessible to you, it's a must-go for excellent service.

Don Head Village Animal Clinic is the best!! Saved my dog's life just in time. I noticed my dog was not himself last night when I got home, I called the clinic 2 minutes before they close and Dr. Hughes was so kind and willing to take him in and stayed late for him. Today when they realized that he had a rawhide stuck in his esophagus and needed immediate treatment, they arranged to do the endoscopy at the clinic in the afternoon. They kept me updated all day and my dog is making a complete recovery at home now. I was told if that rawhide stayed in for one more day I may lose my baby. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Hughes and her staff!! They are super heroes!!

I cannot say enough good things about DHV Vet Clinic. We were clients from 1995-2013 when we moved out of the area and were fortunate to have 3 dogs and 2 cats cared for by this remarkable group. Dr. Hughes saved our Golden Retriever's life via emergency surgery that allowed her another 2 happy years, and when her time to cross the Rainbow bridge (at age 14.5!) finally arrived, Dr. Hughes and an associate came to the house to perform the euthanasia with such loving kindness that we will always remain grateful. Even though our new dog is no longer a patient due to distance, Dr. Hughes still provided a very helpful phone consult about a challenging behavioral issue. You will never regret choosing DHV as for your companion animals; I wish I could find a people doctor as competent and caring! I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I came to this clinic, because they had the best ratings. Mostly because of Dr. Hughes. I could go into a lot of detail about many things, but instead, I will just say that Dr. Hughes is as good and caring as all the other reviews suggest. The staff are always nice. Dr. Hughes will always answer any question you have, and even explain it over and over without ever making you feel rushed. She is great with people and their pets. Katie(Mini Aussie) and I are glad we found her.

I have both a dog and a cat. as any other owner, my pets had some health issues(some easy and some more serious).I have to mention the professional approach of the staff and the doctors. whenever my dog or cat did not feel good and I had to make an appointment, I would get the appointment at the same day even if it meant that the doctor was double booked. one of the doctors that work there is Dr Hughes and she is one of the best doctors I have ever met. if I could rate her as a professional and as a person, i would give her "6". love the clinic, the staff and the doctors there. I want everybody to know that.

Dr. Enna Hughes is very knowledgeable and passionate about the care/services she provides. Other staff also very helpful. My most recent visits relate to my cat Chloe who has diabetes and my son's cat Bing who died suddenly over Christmas 2012. I have used this clinic for about 20 yrs with four different cats.

I have had a dog for 8 years now, and have been through a number of different vets. That is until I landed at this clinic with Dr. Hughes. She runs a first class operation. Dr. Hughes and her staff are courteous, professional and truly care for the well being of my dog Oscar, and even myself at times. It provides myself with significant comfort that my boxer is in great hands when we visit Dr. Hughes, and Oscar and the rest of our family are thankful for her!!!

I can't believe that no one told me about this clinic in richmond hill at bathurst and 16th avenue. We had nothing but trouble with other clinics always sending us for more and more tests. Dr. Hughes did a thorough research and was able to diagnose our baby with diabetes. We now know we can look after Sabbie and she will live a long happy life. thank you Dr Hughes.

The best vet clinic I ever try. Dr. Hughes amazing. She was gentle with our older cat. She made the tests to know what was making him sick.He has digestive problems but now after Dr. Hughes recommend special food he has been feeling much better and does not poo everywhere only in his box. we are so happy we found that clinic and especially Dr. Hughes. I have to agree that I have noticed some changes... Dr. Hughes is great but I am not impressed with how rude the front staff is now and I found Dr. Rattray is very rude and short with her clients...I feel like she talks down to me. Going elsewhere.

I moved clinics and found Don Head as I live down the road. From day one I and my three dogs have been treated with the utmost care. Dr. Hughes and her staff are always happy to oblige and make every visit as special as can be. I like that I'm never rushed and that they take the time to listen to my needs. They are knowledgeable and thorough, polite and friendly. I highly recommend them.

Amazing vets. treated my cats like gold. Went through every detail with me and helped me understand what illnesses and what needed to be done after surgury. I am not to sure about prices, but for me having 3 cats and them all needing care, it gets very expensive.

I would highly recommened Don Head Village Animal Clinic. Their Vets are knowledgable, patient, and understanding. I've brought my last cat for all of his 18 years, and my new cat to them with confidence. My only issue is the prices. I have not visited other vets so I wouldn't know if the prices are normal, but they seem a bit high....having said that, they have been very nice in giving free samples instead of medication, which helps considerably.

I have been a client at this clinic for many, many years and would only entrust this clinic with my pets. The staff are great - I feel like they are a part of my extended family. Recently, one of my Black Russian Terriers had to undergo surgery to remove a lump on his tail and I know that my dog was cared for with the best care possible. Whenever I have any concerns, I am always able to get an answer quickly and never feel rushed or unimportant. Also, whenever I am worried about one of my dogs, this clinic is attentive to my concerns and addresses them thoroughly. These are the qualities that anyone should be looking for in a veterinary clinic, if they consider their pets to be a part of their family. (Also, the receptionist has beautiful hair and is always smiling.)

After my dog was mis-diagnosed by several vets, I took him to this clinic because I had read so many good online reviews. I saw Dr. Rattray - she is young but WOW does she know her stuff! She correctly diagnosed my dog after one visit and now he's better than ever! I won't trust my boy with any other vet from now on!

Dr. Hughes and Dr. Rattray are great. They and their staff are caring and compassionate and responsive to concerns. They seem very up-to-date in their knowledge of veterinary medicine and they are willing to refer to and consult first-rate experts on complex issues. They treated our little Maltese for a difficult impacted anal gland with an antibiotic-resistant infection (MRSA). They took exactly the steps to treat our dog that the world's leading expert recoommended. They even consulted with him. Most importantly, they sent us to specialist surgeons to perform the actual surgery, which can very very tricky in dogs as small as our Maltese.

the people here are great: gentle, patient, caring. They were wonderful with our new puppy... took lots of time to answer all our questions. Dr. Hughes was so gentle with the shot that our puppy sidn't even notice that he was vaccinated. We were impressed. We got very good nutritional advice - our puppy loves the new food and has no more stomach problems and is growing much better now. The staff that answer the phone are good too. We had questions about training and they were answered and we had great suggestions. We are so glad we came there - all the online reviews recommeded them and they were right! I can recommend thic clinic to anyone who wants a vet who really cares about pet and their family. Five Stars*****

Dr. Hughes is great! I like the fact that she gave the vaccines and draw blood in my presence. She didn't take my dog to the back of the clinic like most vets do. My dog never left my sight. I knew exactly what was done and how it was done. My dog was happy and so was I!!!

We had our first visit with Dr. Hughes last week for a complete annual checkup for my 8.5 yrs old Lab. The staff there are very friendly and Dr. Hughes is very professional and nice. She spent over an hr looking at my dog, checking on him and doing some examinations. I suggested to put my dog on some kind of supplement for his joints as he is a senior dog now. However Dr. Hughes explained to me that it is not necessary and it will be a waste of money plus it's not gonna benefit my dog. it is very important for a vet to stand at the owner's pt view when it comes to decision making. Overall, very professional and nice service. We went home with our boy happily!

Dr. Hertzberg and her staff are amazing. They are kind, caring, professional and very knowledge. My family is very lucky to have them so close to our home. In one particular incident, our cat fractured its jaw in two places. We didn't know this until we came home from work later in the evening. I called the office within minutes of their closing. They knew I was very upset and didn't want to refer me to the emergency clinic. They stayed an hour after their closing, and made special arrangements to perform surgery on our cat the next morning. In addition, they did an amazing job! I wouldn't go anywhere else.
