And then there's the lack of knowledge when you ask them questions. It would seem they like to do all the talking because they know it all! It's very hard to find people in this business that A know what the H there talking about and B don't try to rip you off!! Click to report rating    3/4/18   5     5     5     5   The very Best place to have your loved pets taken care of. We drive 40 minutes to go there. Pricing is always very fair. They truly care about your pets and you! RID: 65697
Click to report rating    8/18/16   2     4     5     2   I went for my dog’s annual visit at Lake Emma Animal Hospital and wanted her nails groomed. I was told the nails were included in the $143.00 visit. When I received my dog, her nails were chopped off by clippers not ground down ( I prefer this method) so I asked why they were not ground and I was told that was an extra $22! So I say fine just do it, I get my dog back again and it looks as if NOTHING had been done. Long story short I expressed my irritation to the Dr. and the manager and told them I should not have to pay $22 for something that was hardly done. I was told that at this point the would have to sedate my dog to do it! Um no! so again I say I am not happy and do not think I should be charged the extra $22. They told me sorry we did it so you have to pay (bad customer services) needless to say I will not be going back there again. RID: 61361
Click to report rating    12/11/15   1     3     2     1   We took our cat in and his condition was misdiagnosed. Three different types of pills were prescribed but within 4 weeks he was dead. Staff seemed uninformed and when we called to double check the prescription we were given bad advice simply because the information we provided wasn't relayed to the doctor. AVOID THIS PLACE. Click to report rating    6/5/14   1     1     1     1   I have taken several of my older pets to Lake Emma Animal Hospital and each pet had to be put to sleep. Yesterday my female American Eskimo just 12 years old had to be put down. They did all kinds of tests which cost over $1000 only to find out they did not know what was wrong with my beloved pet. They suggested exploratory surgery for what? If they didn't have a clue what was wrong. Unfortunately my little Precious steadily went down hill and was put to rest yesterday. RID: 51971

Click to report rating    8/25/11   5     5     5     4   My pets have always received excellent care here. I never ask for a specific doctor because I have used them all at one time or another and they are all great. I highly recommend them, they are caring, dedicated and professional. RID: 27179
Click to report rating    6/13/11   1     2     2     1   Dr. John Dee, Lake Emma Animal Hospital is currently under investigation as a result of a complaint I filed with the Board of Veterinary Medicine in Tallahassee regarding the death of my cat Bandit. The Case Number is 2011027249. Bandit hadn’t been eating well the last few days. Dr. Dee did sometests on her and called me the next day and told me she had kidney disease. He told me that I needed to bring her in for IV fluid treatment that would last for 3 days to get her stabilized. This treatment is safe and without risks unless the cat has heart problems like Bandit did. She had a heart murmur. They noticed she was having trouble breathing at 5:30PM and she was dead at 6:45PM. If a cat can be dead from this treatment in 1 hour and 15 minutes how can it be safe to administer IV fluids overnight when no one of there? I know that Bandit was 17 years old, but the result of Dr. Dee treatment is she had a shorter life not a longer life one because of his complacency or carelessness. RID: 25577
Click to report rating    8/16/10   5     5     5     5   Lake Emma Animal Hospital is a great place! Everyone who works there generally cares for animals. Other people who said negative comments about L.E.A.H. are crazy. I would never take my animals anywhere else! HIGHLY recommended! RID: 19253
Click to report rating    7/26/10   1     1     1     1   HORRIBLE TREATMENT NEVER GO THERE. DOGS ARE LIKELY ABUSED OVER THERE. PLEASE AVOID GOING THERE RID: 18956
Click to report rating    6/10/10   5     5     5     5   I have been taking my pets to Lake Emma Animal Hospital and Dr.Dee for over 13 yrs. Dr. Dee is fantastic. I live 30 mins away from Lake Emma Animal hospital now and I continue to make the drive because I am so happy with their services. The staff always remember my pets and I have always been impressed with the care provided. As long as I live in Florida, Dr.Dee will be the only vet I want caring for my pets. RID: 18322
Click to report rating    2/16/10   1     1     1     1   I recently picked my dog up from boarding with LEAH. While waiting for her to be brought up to the front, I notice her weight on check out. She had lost 10 lbs while being boarded for 5 days. I asked the vet tech how could this be and she read off a kennel card that said "did not eat", "did not eat", 10 times. When they finally brought her up she was noticably thinner and we reconfirmed her weight while I was there. What is even more insulting then the complete lack of care, was while we were away we called to check in on her. EVERY time we got " She's doing great, eating, walking on a leash well with the techs ". I called to speak to one of the actual vets, and he blamed the weight loss on a misread scale. How about each of the times she was weighed, while she was there, there was a 2 lb loss at each weigh-in? They actually recorded the weight loss in the computer and it printed with my receipt! No one noticed this, even as they recorded it?? RID: 16640
Click to report rating    6/12/09   1     4     2     1   The staff here is rude and made snotty comments which were inappropriate, which made things worse when a loved one, even a pet, was ill. We were never given different options on the available treatment for our dog and were basically given an ultimatum. Luckily, we found a compassionate vet elsewhere. This place is a ripp off and the staff is awful. RID: 13159
Click to report rating    5/20/09   4     4     3     3   I love Dr. Dee. He's pleasant, super-knowledgeable and informative, but doesn't talk down to you. He's also very current on new treatments and what's best/safest for your pets. On the whole, the office staff are polite, and I really like that the techs remember my pets. I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Kendig - but I think our personalities just clash and he always seems to be in a huge rush. That said, I'd still trust his advice and care for my puppies. I've thought about changing vets to one closer to my home, but I doubt I could find the quality of service anywhere else. I highly recommend Lake Emma Veterinary Hospital. RID: 12857
Click to report rating    5/24/08   5     5     5     5   Dr Dee cared for my pets for over 7 years. He genuinely cares about his patients, understands the animals/human bond, and treats each patient as his own. He explains everything in layman's terms, and for anyone who would love a vet who reminds them of James Herriot, Dr Dee is the man. My only regret is that his clinic is too far away now since I've moved, but if any of my pets were in a dire situation, we'd be on the road to his clinic in a flash! RID: 8601
Click to report rating    9/6/07   2     5     4     4   The veterinarian at this facility seem very knowledgeable. Nice, clean facility. I was unhappy with the vet tech I saw though. She took my dog into the back to get blood and a fecal sample. My dog freaked out and she almost threw her back in the room with me. I will NEVER let anyone take my dog away from me to perform an exam or test again! Poor thing was freaked out and the vet tech was unprofessional. Don't get mad at the dog!! RID: 5845
Click to report rating    7/6/07   5     5     5     5   Vets and staff are great. Nice facility. Staff is knowlegable and caring. The prices are fair. I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone! RID: 5108
Click to report rating    5/29/07   5     5     5     4   I saw Dr. Harvey. I was impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the entire staff. I also like that the veterinarian was conservative with his treatment options! RID: 4213
