Click to report rating    1/16/12   5     3     5     5   I recently brought my Puggle puppy Murphy to WAH w/severe cough, breathing difficulties, hacking, pleghm one day after I adopted him. At 11 wks he had Kennel Cough bordering on pneumonia. WAH took him immediately, gave him antibiotic & nebulizer treatment. Dr. Carol Jones and staff were great & caring with my pup. They showed me how to pat my dogs side to release the mucus and give him steam from shower. I came back two days later for 1 addtl. nebulizer trtmnt. He is now 4 months old and thriving like a puppy should be. The cost was very reasonable, my puppy is healthy and everyone was so kind and caring. Another comment mentioned their outdated facilities. Don't judge a book by it's cover. The doctors and staff are caring, kind & made me feel comfortable having my puppy in their hands. They are reasonably priced & knowing Murphy was my first dog, did not try to persuade me to get numerous high-priced tests before trying the antibiotic & nebulizer first. Murphy and I thank you all RID: 30584

Click to report rating    2/2/07   4     2     3     3   The vets here seem to care and it's not as expensive as other places. You can be present with your pet while they take blood, administer shots, which is a far cry from the OAH and the FLAH. The facilities are lacking and the overall "look" is outdated compared to the other two, however. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I have to say that the vets and tech staff were all pretty good with answering questions. The turnoff here (other than the appearance of the facility) was when my puppy received a routine series vaccination, it was given in the leg rather than in the folds of up top of his neck, which have a lot more tissue to support a shot given under the skin. He never feels shots here, whereas he was sore on his leg for days after. Their method for giving the shot was to all "distract" him by surrounding, leaning in, and cooing his name, but 6 people + small puppy = panic and he didn't take it well. Ultimately switched to the RVAH in Oakland. RID: 2463
