I left the hospital in tears with receptionist Lydia Ortiz mocking me with: "Have a nice day." Three weeks earlier I had been told: "If he loses more weight, we have to talk about cancer." I arrived for the follow-up 10 minutes early with a cat who had been fasting and had not taken his meds. I was not called or told when I checked in that they were running more than an hour behind. I asked to speak with an office manager, said I would be going to online reviews, asked for a discount on his meds. I was told by Ms. Ortiz they don't give discounts to rude people. I started to cry in frustration and fear that I would not be able to see a doctor. They agreed to weigh him and test his blood, while I waited in the waiting room, still crying. He lost a pound -- or 10% of his weight. Because I didn't talk to a doctor or the office manager, I don't know what is the next step. I paid the bill, shaking and crying, Ms. Ortiz waited till I turned to go before her cruel farewell: "Have a nice day".

I have been going to the Nutley Animal Hospital for years. My 2 year old golden was very sick and I took her to three different vets. She was getting sicker by the day. Then I went to see Dr. Re who was very patient with me while I even cried in his office. He was able to help her when no one could. He was warm and patient. That was nine years ago, he will ALWAYS be my vet. I tell him I only wish he could be my doctor. I would have rated this hospital EXCELLENT if they had the rating.

I had a horrible experience with this place. My rabbit, Biscuit, stopped eating and had a head tilt. I rushed him to the nearest emergency clinic and they sent me here. I got to the hospital at 1:30 PM. These people made me wait over an hour and a half in the waiting room before I was seeing. This was an EMERGENCY! After all that way, I was taken into see Dr. Re, who is by far the worst vet I have ever gone to. He started off by lecturing me about keeping two rabbits together when he found out Biscuit lived with another rabbit at home. He said it was bad to keep rabbits together. This is hugely untrue as rabbits bond very closely with others. Anyone who knows a thing about rabbits will tell you this. He did nothing for me and babbled away for ever and then I had to wait another hour in the waiting room for the bill while the receptionists chatted away. By the time I left it was 5. Biscuit died that night, and I partly blame them for wasting so much (4 hours!) of his precious time.
