Having used the same vet for over 10 years before moving to New Mexico I have gone to several clinics searching for something in comparison. When my 9 month old Pomeranian got very ill on Monday and the vet clinic I had been taking him to was closed I rushed him to the next nearest clinic which happened to be Bolton. We saw Dr. Horn and were very pleased with the care he received. I've read some reviews about Bolton being "over priced" and "money hungry", my bill for x-rays, antibiotics, injections, and exam fee was under $250. Something that would have cost me close to $1000 at any other clinic I've been to. To add to that in my panic of my rapidly declining dog I didn't even realize that I had forgotten my credit card at home and that we were only a couple days away from pay day, typically a money tight time for us. After my dogs care I explained to the front desk and they were happy to set up a payment plan with me. Its safe to say that we have found our new veterinarian.

I brought my kitten here for her first checkup. The room was clean, and the vet was on time. The staff was friendly and gentle with her. However, the vet did not check her lungs, heart, eyes, or temperature. The only question I was asked was what kitten food she was eating. What kind of "checkup" is that? Also, I mentioned early on that my kitty had ear mites. The vet did a crappy job of cleaning her ears, but still medicated her. I had to go home and finish the job. (There still stuff I can't reach, but I made a C- attempt an A- attempt.) In addition, the vet suggested using Neosporin to help prevent infections, but I know for a fact Neosporin is not good for cats' skin. My question is why the vet didn't apply something onsite? Lastly, I was forced to pay for the little plastic cone that <I> had to suggest! Not one of my favorite places.
