Click to report rating    9/18/07   2     4     2     1   I was very displeased with the service rendered by this hospital/veterinarian..my cat was recently a patient there, due to an abcess in her mouth. I waited in the waiting area, (had an appointment) for at least 45 minutes. When my cat was taken in, we waited in the examining room, another 15min or so. I felt that the staff/vet were unneccessarily rough, and seemed to be fairly uncaring of my cat's comfort. Questions I asked, were either not answered, or I was given the impression that I was sort of ignorant, for asking. The treatment and medications that she was given, had no effect at all on her condition, so in 2 days, I took her to another vet, who diagnosed an entirely differnt condition, provided treatment, and I'm happy to say the results were excellent. I definitely will not return to Academy in the future. I feel that animals deserve to be treated with care and compassion, and owners deserve to be talked to as if they had some level of intelligence. RID: 5928
Click to report rating    2/6/07   3     5     3     3   Awhile back, I had taken my female cat in with pain, and inability to urinate. Diagnoses was a urninary tract infection, and she was given antibiotics. There was no mprovement, she was returned for further treatment, and remained for several days, as an inpatient. After much testing, and no answer as to what was causing the problems, and deterioration of the cat's condition, it was decided that the best course of action, was to euthanize the cat. I was asked to allow the cat to be autopsied, to determine exactly what the problem had been. The autopsy was for their information, and future reference. I agreed, and told them that I would like to have my cat's remains afterwards, so that she could be buried at home. When I went for her body, I was given a bill for over $400! THEY wanted the autopsy done, not me, so I refused to pay. They kept my cat't remains, and my carrier.(I did pay for medical treatment provided) RID: 2677
