I have been breeding Havanese since 2001. Dr. Abernathy was recommended to me by another breeder. I discovered many breeders go to him. In 2006, I moved to Colorado & had a dog neutered by a local vet. The dog brought Parvo home to my dogs & puppies ready to go to their new homes. I called the clinic on a Sunday when I realized they didn't have a flu bug. Dr. A answered the phone & told me to get there as fast as I could. I drove 6 hours, but I knew Dr. A was thee best. He told me not all 5 would go home because the average success rate is 50% & his was 80%. I knew he could do it & I told him I knew he would. 5 days later he called to say they were all going to go home! I still drive 6 hours each way to go to him when it is something important. Dr. A has met his calling. The animals love him. When he gives puppy vaccines, he cradles the puppy in his arms, sings & dances a bit around the room while giving the vaccine. I've seriously considered moving back just to be near him. BEST EVER!

He diagnosed my Bichon Frise in the first visit, kept him in the Vet Hospital over the holiday weekend, was the Doctor that came in to do the checkups, did the emergency surgery and saved Casper's life...FANTASTIC

Doctor Abernathy is an excellent veterinary Doctor..You won't find a more qualified,kind caring man. He loves his animals as much as the owner does
