Click to report rating    8/8/12   1     1     1     1   They handled the dying and death of our dog very poorly. They told us that he was ok, but needed fluids so to come back in 2 hours. An hour later we were called and were told that our dog died! They couldn't tell us any reason why. We were told if we wanted to come and say our good-byes we could. We told them we would be right over with our whole family (young children). When we arrived and were taken back to view our dogs body they had him in a kennal laying with his tongue out and eyes open. My daughter busted into tears and asked what did they do to "Bailey". I had my wife remove her from the room while I had a strong conversation with the vet and the staff. I will not go back ever! RID: 36348
Click to report rating    3/23/11   5     4     5     4   I took my cat in for a check-up, choosing this place upon a friend's recommendation. The staff was very friendly, and made me and my cat feel welcome. We arrived early, and were seen right away. The Vet Tech and the Vet were both very polite, gentle, and projected confidence and competence. The service was impeccable, and they took care of us and got us on our way quickly. RID: 23769
Click to report rating    10/7/06   2     3     3     1   "Animal hospital" is a gross misnomer, as I learned when my cat needed before-and-after surgery care. Because they don't have staff at night, I had to transport my cat to an emergency clinic for overnight monitoring, then back to the vet each day. Needless to say this was very stressful and expensive. I'm also very unhappy with the high staff turnover. It seems like good vets don't stick around at VCA. These people seem much more concerned with making money than providing quality care. I was charged $200 per hour for anesthetic for my cat's surgery. Bear in mind that they don't have a dedicated person administering the anesthetic... that's just the cost of the anesthetic itself. So they charged $200 for something that probably cost them less than $10. They also prescribe special diets that you can ONLY purchase from a vet, at 6-8 times the cost of good quality pet food.
