Dr Leblanc is very money oriented and not very competent. Clinic is about 10 to 20% more expensive than others. Staff can have attitude and harass on the phone for more visits. Dr Leblanc gave me a 950$ estimate for my cat's dental work. Went to seek another opinion and vet told me to just change dry food. A year later Dr Leblanc tells me how beautiful my cats teeth and gums are. She totally forgot she tried to screw me the year before. I NEVER went back.

While I agree the costs of care and treatment are rather expensive, I strongly believe 'you get what you pay for'. When our dog was hit by a car and we brought him to the clinic, Dr. Leblanc worked on him exlusively for about 2 hours. She even closed the clinic so she could give complete attention to him until he could be transported by animal ambulence to the Emergency Hospital in Lachine. I don't know how many appointments she cancelled that evening to care for our dog, but that is the kind of attention you get there. When our cat injured his paw and needed emergency surgery, Dr. Leblanc and her team stayed after the clinic was closed and worked overtime to do the operation. Again, you don't get that kind of care at a less expensive clinic. I could go on about other acts of kindness and professionalism but that is not necessary. I would strongly recommend this clinic. They love your pets like you love them...like they are part of the family.

Money oriented-mistakes galore. Attitude and contempt for clients always seeking for more $$$. Am done with them.

I brought my cat in because he had been scratched by a racoon and the Vet was very helpful and professional. We got the rabies shot for my two cats and the price was moderately high but not unreasonable. LAter my second cat stopped jumping and we brought it back to the same vet. She was very thorough in her neurological examination and even said that making tests would be a waste of our money. She recommended a course of treatment for a herniated spinal disc and our kitty improved significantly as we followed her recomendations. They do push their food a bit, but they do take 'no' if you say so. I would go back to the same vet.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this veterinary clinic.I have been dealing here since 2008. I owned a senior dog who was under the care of Dr. Leblanc. Her treatment in her old age was extaordinary.I bought another dog after her demise and continued going to the same place. This second dog injested poison in 2012 and Dr. Leblanc saved her life.I only have words of praise for the quick thinking staff.

This vet wanted to charge me $1600 for dental work - which is not what I brought my dog in for, and INSISTED that I change my dog food for their VERY expensive food. They called me 4 times the next week to harass me about the food and the surgery that they wanted to do. I went elsewhere for a second opinion and the price was $500. I almost put my dog down because I could not afford what they told me was immediate surgery and I was being cruel. I almost euthanized my dog!!!! Thank goodness I went for a second opinion and found a GREAT vet! NEVER go there - all they want is $$$$.

I've been a client at Monkland for 13 years, and can't imagine taking my cats anywhere else. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable, from the vets to technicians to receptionists. When I needed an appointment on short notice, I've always been accommodated.
I'm honestly shocked at some of the comments below, especially regarding euthanasia. On the heart-wrenching occasions when I've faced that decision, the vets were always compassionate without trying to influence my choice one way or the other. I've never been pressured to put my cats through tests that don't seem necessary. To the contrary, more than once the vets suggested giving my cat some time before putting them through a test that might not be needed. And yes, good care costs money, but I've always felt like my cats and I are in excellent hands at Monkland, and have never felt like I'm being gouged.

Usually my go to vet but have been very disappointed these past few months. I have brought in my cat couple a months ago because I found a lump on his neck. The vet kept pushing for more tests which ended up costing me over 600$!!The next day I got a call saying they found nothing wrong and wanted to do more tests(To which i refused and he ended up fine). Recently my male cat could not urinate and had to see a vet asap! I called to see if i could see a vet but they were 'fully' booked and could only see him the next day at 5pm!! for which it would of been too late! She then said if anything happened in the middle of the night to call the emergency line. really disappointed and angry! I called another vet and they agreed to see me ASAP even if they were fully booked!Thank goodness

The staff at Monkland Vet. has treated my pets over the years exceptionally well and I am continually amazed at their wonderful treatment of them...and of me! I recently had to make a difficult and painful decision and their compassion and empathy towards me was just amazing. Their fees are extremely reasonable and their knowledge of pet care and procedures are state-of-the-art. They have a bright, modern clinic with a very affectionate cat in the waiting room to greet you along with the staff!! I would highly recommend this clinic and give it TEN STARS!!!

This clinic used to be very warm and homey. Now that it has moved, it is sterile, expensive and cold. I took one of my cats there when she was in severe distress. In order for the vet and team to take blood and do a urine sample, it cost $450. I then paid a further $200 for an antibiotic injection and some Pepsid for my cat's stomach. I have since nursed my cat back to health and have not gotten a call with test results from the vet. When I went to see them, the attendant said that the vet could not speak to me because it was her day off. I could clearly see the vet behind the door. I do not recommend this place. It is a terribly disheartening environment.

Worst experience in all of my years of owning cats! The examining room was so dirty that I thought my cat would catch a disease! The vet was very rude to me and was unnecessarily rough with my cat, shoving and pushing, and rubbing gloveless fingers into my cat's sores for no reason. They don't ask you before adding their overpriced "medication" (that you can buy at any drugstore) onto the bill, and the consultation fee is twice the amount of most vets. Just awful.

The staff was really nice when i went in for the first time and they really took the time to explain to me what is to be expected during other visits. A little pricey but about the same as the other clinics i called before i went there

I used to like them more when they were smaller. And I am not impressed that they sell food there and really push it. I definately think that Orijen is a great food in comparison to Prescription diet and I was told otherwise. The website Dog Analysis gives Orijen 5 stars and Prescription 1 star. So why are the vets at that clinic pushing this Prescription product so much? All the latest research points to a grain free diet for dogs with high quality meat or raw food diets adn the vets at this clinic (or at least the vet I saw) seemed to disagree with that. I have a problem with that. And yes, it is expensive but I did not shop around to compare prices.
