PLEASE do not go to this man. I worked for him and saw horrible things, he would perform surgery on animals not completely under anesthesia, crying and moving, his "adoption facilities" were filthy and had many sick untreated animals. He would give a lesser dose of vaccines than recommended to save money, would not use pain management for the animals, he would recommend services for animals that they did NOT need to make money, he has NO ETHICS and it all comes down to the dollar for him.

I agree, Dr. Lucas is SCARE-REEE! He is so arrogant it's hard to believe he can get away with treating clients the way he does. It was obvious to me that he wanted to get more money and was very condescending to me. He seems to have an anger management problem and his staff are just plain snotty.

I went to this facility for approx. 4 years and found Dr. Lucas to be aloof and he never spoke to me except if I was in the examing room. Many times I was in there to buy supplies and he would just act like he never saw me before. Also he always was wanting the do more things with my pets than I was there for. It always appeard he was just trying to run up the bill. I am with another vet now and he is a wonderful,caring man and even "likes" and "acknowledges" my pets which Dr. Lucas never did. He also would never call after surgery but rather would have a tech do so. Then if you had any questions that the tech could not answer then you just didn't get an answer.

Dr. Lucas is very scary. He believes and has stated that osteosarcoma (bone cancer) is curable, if caught early. This is not a true statement and can be very misleading to clients in a very emotional situation. He does not recommend amputation along with chemo therapy which is the prescribed protocol. He has stated that as long as a tumor is caught early, osteocarc can be cured and dogs can live 10 years. This is completely contrary to research results. He believes "clean bloodwork" is an indication that the cancer is gone. Again, completely contrary to research. He does not believe that clients are entitled to a second opinion and is outraged when questioned or challenged. This type of mindset and ego is extremely dangerous to pets and pet owners who look to their vet for guidance and knowledge.

The vet was condescending and arrogant. He told me one price to clean my dog's teeth and then kept adding to it once the dog was dropped off. In fact, his staff seemed to be in on it as they acted indignant when I said the price that the vet had quoted me.
