This Dr. Regan is horrible. I thought my pet was acting unusual but at the vet's he showed no signs of illness. For no reason, Dr. Regan immediately assumed I was mistreating my pet. She wanted my pet inhospital for observation & incurred a large bill for me but my pet was not sick. Sadly I was too young to know this is her way of gouging customers. I also do not appreciate that she at times takes photos of our pets to post on their website, as it is a breach of patient privacy. When I came to collect my pet, she did not have the decency to see me but sent the other vet instead, who was actually really nice and so was the receptionist. I notice Dr. Regan tends to petition issues associated with a particular country which makes me wonder about her dislike for certain kinds of people. I highly do not recommend her.

I took my cat to this clinic for a check up and for an update on her shots. The staff was extremely welcoming and were very gentle and loving to my cat. They had a great "cat room" for the examination that included fun cat things (stairs a little hiding dome and toys)'. They were very clear on what shots they were going to give my cat and explained why she needed to get them (one was a booster and the second one was for rabies). They taught me how to take better care of her teeth and her nails (no cost and not trying to sell product). Contrary to other comments, they did not try to up sell me on anything and the total cost for the visit was very very reasonable. I would highly recommend this clinic!

We had taken our cat to this clinic because of the close proximity to our house. Starting from our initial visit it was clear that the emphasis was on the $$$. The vet tech looked at the list of shots they were telling us were necessary, and after my wife explained that we could not afford to purchase all of these, the tech said "Well, just pick one then." After my cat received this shot, she came home and was a zombie for a day. When she continued to become even more lethargic the following day and would not eat or drink we returned to the clinic, and they said "oh she must have had a reaction to the shot" Ugh! And then they flushed my cat with a water injection. A year later when my cat became ill the suggested path of treatment quickly approached the $3,000 mark, with the disclaimer that there is no guarantees. We started down the path, but our cat's conditioned worsened and she passed. I never felt that this clinic had our best interests at heart.

My pets are rabbits. I went here for years, but I won't be going back. AHHP is a teaching hospital, and the student techs are really inexperienced: three times I watched them mishandle my bunny, and twice almost drop him on the ground. Otherwise, the service is high-efficiency, low-intimacy: I never had to wait long for anything, and they have the best equipment, very clean facilities, and high levels of expertise, but they're also the most expensive in the city, and I couldn't talk to the vets about my deeper questions and concerns (finally I opted to PAY for a conversation, but even that was rushed). The vets always jumped to the most expensive options (i.e. overnight intake) and were generally unwilling to help me help my rabbit. Considering they aren't a 24hr facility, and considering they know damn well that the local 24hr facilities are far from ideal for rabbits, you'd think they understand how important it is that health begins at home, but no.

Great with my exotic fur-babies as well as my dog. they listen to my concerns and are very knowledgeable. I fell in love with this clinic after my first couple of visits. my ferrets and dog love the staff (and my dog is not typically vet friendly). they genuinely care for pets.

I brought my pet cat there, greeted very friendly by the receptionists and had a technician start the appointment she was very through with her questions, finally when the vet Dr. Chung came in she was friendly and very knowledgeable. They gave me a cat folder which had emergency clinic phone numbers which i now keep on my fridge. I got my kitty vaccinated he got worm medication and some blood work and i found the costs to be reasonable. I was very pleased with my visit there and i recommend this clinic very much

Absolutely horrible. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THIS PLACE!
My girlfriend and I brought our cat to here becuase she was making snorting sounds. The vet told us that she required immediate surgery or she would die.
After we left, the vet did an x-ray and found no evidence of what she thought the problem was. Disregarding this fact, our cat was taken into surgery without any additional diagnosics and without informing us. This surgery was extremely invasive, invovling her being cut from her rib cage to her pelvis.
After the unnecessary surgery, we got a bill for $3900...
We then took the cat to another vet who told us that SHE HAD A COLD and the sound she was making was her trying to clear her nose. The other vet also told us that if we continued to give her all of the antibiotics that Animal Hospital of High Park had prescribed, it would likely kill all of the good bacteria in her digestive tract, and told us to cut the dose in half. NEVER BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!!

Worst vet clinic I've been to. From the first second we stepped in we felt pressured into spending money. We saw Dr. Loews who didn't seem too confident with what our dogs needed however she was kept trying to convince us to get extra vaccines that they did not need and told us we need to let them do dental surgery for one of 5 month old puppies because she had her permanent tooth coming in and still had her baby tooth by saying it will not fall out on its own. NOT TRUE. I brought up that we thought our other puppy may have problems with his vision and she dismissed us.The visits were both focused on selling us surgery, supplies, food that the carried etc. They asked us what we feed them and we said Origin which is one of the best foods on the market but she along with the techs said they've never heard of it and continued to insist their food was better. We just didn't feel like they had our dogs best interest in mind and we decided to switch vets. Total money grab is all they are.

I have brought my cat and dog to see Dr. Louws and Dr. Regan (whoever was available) and each time the technicians were helpful and extremely knowledgable about what the best care was for my pets from diet (my cat has horrible teeth) to wellness and prevention. I was given a welcome package, and my cat who is afraid of everything was handled calmly and they were able to vaccinate her without a lot of restraint (something that could never be done at my previous vet.) Ya it costs money for an exam, bloodwork and vaccines... things we as people dont have to worry about. Overall it costs money to have pets and unforeseen things happen just like us, unfortunatly they dont have free healthcare or people wouldnt be complaining. I dont see why all people take about is money when you love your pet money shouldn't be a question. Bottom line is if you cant afford them dont get them. I love my dog and cat and would finance if i had to.. thats a responsibility i took when i adopted them.

Dr. Ginger Louws is an incompetent unprofessional poor excuse for a veterinarian, who clearly should not handle any animal due to her "hard personal life" If my job is to save lives I am going to save them and not make excuses for why I would forget to inform a patient who has paid a costly bill some simple directions such as things that can be done at home to save the life of the sick pet for those who cant afford even more costly treatment. I feel very used for my money and completely disappointed with her moral ethics as a vet. DO NOT TRUST HER WITH YOUR PET RIP CLYDE

My cat was suffering terribly and it was clear that she needed to be euthanized. They kept me waiting and waiting even though I had an appointment and my cat continued to degenerate, suffering horribly. When the vet did show up, she took the cat's temperature for which I was charged a $60 exam fee. While I am sobbing, with no empathy whatsoever I was bombarded with dozen's of up-sells for my cat's euthanization, and when I was not interested - all they were interested in was the type of payment I would be making before I left the exam room. Yes - that's right, they have a register in the exam room. When I received my bill - one of the line items next to it was "our condolences for your loss" and it was listed as $0.00 ON THE BILL. I do not recommend this vet at all - worst experience of my life.

I got taken to the cleaners, I took my 1 year old rabbit in for tummy problems, got guilted into paying over $1800 to leave him there for three days, got suckered into using a medical finance company to pay it. Only to find out that I could have gotten out of there with my bunny, some meds to give at home and would only cost me $300. Now I have an extra $50.00 expense to pay each month, that I don't really have in the first place. Go to another vet for your bunny, or any other pet for that matter.

I've never felt so miserable in my life as when I brought my sick and ailing cat into them. I should have brought financial statements as that's all they seemed interested in. Constant upselling and guilting me, it was one of the worst veterinary experiences in my life. And the costs were outrageous! When I questioned the responses were guilt-ridden. I should have bailed sooner. Subsequently I have found MUCH better care elsewhere.

Had similar experience to other people here. Brought in my 15 year old cat - started with giving me a big package to take home filled with company sponsered flyers for every product they sell (food, insurance, vaccinations, etc.) geared towards a senior cat. Vet tech was condescending. Vet seemed knowledgable but pushing every possible test. Not provided with options.

Allow me to qualify my staff rating - Dr. Lane is THE BEST! ONLY allow Dr. Lane to treat YOUR bird. Other vets on staff here may or may not be qualified to properly treat birds - nor do they have the inclination/temperament to do so well. Be SURE to get ALL charges incl. follow up/meds/ EVERYTHING in writing before you agree to ANY procedure or testing done. Testing on avians is expensive, not all are necessary. I recently ok’d a necessary procedure for my cockatoo. Dr. Lane performed the surgery –FLAWLESSLY. Dr. Watson performed routine bandage change/follow up & (IMO) mangled a perfectly executed surgical procedure - by bandaging so tight circulation was cut off. See ONLY Dr. Lane & get all the charges BEFORE you OK anything.

They wanted $1700 to operate on an eggbound lizard (all it had originally needed was an injection to induce egglaying, but they didn't do it because they wanted the eggs to be laid "naturally") and when I said that price was ridiculous they tried to make me feel guilty for not going ahead with the operation. On a second occasion they charged me over $1000 to *diagnose* cancer in my cat and to keep it alive on fluids until their battery of tests was done. Being burned twice is enough. Never again.
