I cannot say enough about West Chelsea and Dr. Homan. I rescued a 7 yr old dog and stumbled on West Chelsea - best thing that ever happened for Hilda & me! Hilda got older, couldn't walk all the way and I would pay a taxi service ($50 each way)to get there - that is how exceptional WC is! The staff is amazing and LOVE animals - they knew Hilda & I by name! Hilda got a nasal tumor 2 months ago and palliative care is all they could do - I could have gotten a $4,000 CT to find out more information about the tumor, but it wouldn't change the outcome. Dr.Homan did not pressure me to do that and supported every decision I made. I called her almost every day. If she wasn't there she returned my calls -explained everything and answered all questions. Calls were 15-25 minutes each. Do people doctors do that?(btw I was never charged!) I wouldn't have gotten through this without her. She helped me make the hardest decision and finally came and put her down at my apt.I am forever indebted to WC

Dr Farber & Dr Mlekoday are excellent, staff friendly and helpful. They have taken care of our 3 Rottweilers with skill and compassion - I highly recommend. I can't say they are cheap, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". We love them.

Excellent vets, very knowledgeable and very caring. Really get to know you and your animal. Extremely courteous staff. I have had two disabled cats cared for by Chelsea Vets. My present cat has cerebellar hypoplasia and some gastro-intestinal problems. I couldn't be happier with the care she's been receiving. My vet is Dr. Rose Burdon and I could never praise her enough. I just think she's the best. But all the vets there are good. Their prices may seem high, but for New York City, and especially for Chelsea, they are quite reasonable.
