We were loyal 8 year customers of this hospital and thought it was a great place but again we had never had anything serious ever happen to any of our pets until this past July. Our dog had HGE diagnosed by one of the doctors at this horror hospital Dr. Lepkowski. Our doctor Keith Gordon did not agree and insissted our dog ingested a foreign object despite two ultrasounds and a barium study that were all negative for an ingested foreign object. Instead of treating our dog for HGE he and doctor Cavallaro without our permission did exploratory surgery on our dog and performed another surgical procedure on our dog while he was opened up that gave him severe pancreatitis that killed him..but before he died they shipped us out to Red Bank where our beloved Napoleon died four days later..So many more details to the story but this site only allows 1000 words .. I wanted second opinion as to radiation treatment as I felt that 5 days a week radiation for 5 weeks seemed a bit of overkill, particularly for a Pug as they have to be put under for each treatment. I was a nervous and anxious wreck when I went to Dr. Robert Cohen for a 2nd opinion. I was told that sometimes radiation is more detrimental and this type of tumor usually doesn't matastisize but can return. For the first time in 6 weeks I felt a bit of relief as I don't want to put my precious baby thru horrific treatments if it is not deemed totally necessary. I was treated cordially and in a concened manner from the moment I walked thru the door until I left happier than when I came in. They will follow up my Pug's progress every few months. I was quite pleased with services rendered and was not overcharged for exam, nails, ears, tush expression, bloodwork. Even got a 10% senior discount. RID: 23455
Click to report rating    3/1/11   5     5     5     5   Bay Street Animal Hospital has been a life saver to my girlfriend and me, We have a chihuahua named Abby who is very finicky, like all chihuahuas. But she, in particular, has low self-esteem and very bad panic attacks. She begins to shake uncontrollable and yelp and scratch the door. We have gotten complaints from tenants and calls from the landlord every time she has been left alone. Recently, a medical emergency forced me to make long-term daily "babysitting" arrangements at Bay Street Animal Hospital while I go to work. Abby is the first client in and the last client out everyday. Even though this is on a day by day basis and sometimes my schedule forces Abby to have to stay overnight, the staff has been pleasant, patient and completely understanding. They make me feel like I am more than a client... I am part of the family. Thank you, Bay Street Animal Hospital. If not for you, I don't know if we would be able to keep our baby, Abby.
