They constantly over charged me, raised their prices, wanted triple the cost for medications and never once made me feel like they genuinely cared about their animals. They would gladly see my 17 year old Italian Greyhound, run a million tests, and send me of with over priced medications without even caring about his health. The first time I brought him in for seizures, they tried to sell me on $2,000 worth of tests! And one time in an emergency, they had a sign on their door that they were closed for a staff meeting!!! This is supposed to be a 24/7 EMERGENCY VET!! I even called the phone number on the door multiple times and no one answered. What if my dog was dying?!?! Take your money and your animals to small business vets, family owned operations, and your local pet hospitals. Avoid this corporate monster who just wants your money!! RID: 48276
Click to report rating    11/12/11   5     5     5     2   Best staff on Sunday anywhere. Doctors were kind and effecient. They do have some strange thing where you are offered a nurse instead of the dr. These people do not resemble any type of professional "nurse". Avoid this offer unless the problem is minor. Click to report rating    7/20/08   1     1     1     1   STAY AWAY FROM TLC & READ REAL HISTORY OF TLC BELOW! History posted on TLC’s website is a lie! Owner,Matt Krieger is NOT a vet,he's a slimy lawyer pretending to care about animals. Krieger & Dr. Howie Baker did NOT start TLC. A legitimate vet who used to run SPCA started TLC-can't remember his name. TLC was funded by a rich guy named Henry. Krieger is lawyer who put deal together & became silent partner. Now he wears scrubs pretending to be a vet. Financier Henry died &Krieger inherited TLC cuz the way contracts were written. Actual vet who started TLC left, probably cuz he realized how crooked Krieger was. Howie Baker was only an employee.CHECK W/ WEST HOLLYWOOD CITY COUNCIL. I have been a W.Hollywood resident for 18 years & attended most of the hearings when TLC was applying for business permits. Dr. Baker was never there. Only person who spoke was real vet who started TLC and Council liked him. KEEP YOUR ANIMALS AWAY FROM TLC! They lie about everything & only care about making $$. RID: 9383
Click to report rating    12/23/07   4     4     4     1   The cost for a visit and any type of service is extremely expensive. Their referral partner for surgery, ASEC, is even more expensive and very rude. RID: 6734

4/24/07   1     1     1     1   My cat has FHV. Present in 80% of cats and often resulting in ulcers in the eye if untreated. I took my cat in 3 days after his eyes started running. Ultimately one of his runny eyes developed an ulcer on it. The vet removed the ulcer 3 times before he referred me to an eye specialist. It cost a lot of money, time and most importantly pain to my cat. 10 minutes online showed me how common this is so I can't help but wonder why the vet at TLC failed to diagnose it. Later I took this cat's sibling in for a check up. The vet suggested I get her vaccinated even though she is an indoor cat. We spoke at length and ultmately I figured she was a vet and knew better. Lily became sick that week and I had to take her there on an emergency basis, then 2 more follow ups. I had to wait almost 2 hours past the scheduled appt. for one. This cost around $500. Numerous vets there said it couldn't be from the shot she just received. She has never been sick since. Never again and shame on TLC. RID: 3609

Click to report rating    11/2/06   5     5     5     5   I had a great experience at TLC when I brought my pet in for emergency care. They did a great job, and, cared about my pet and my emotional needs. I would go to TLC in the future without hesitation. RID: 447
Click to report rating    10/17/06   1     3     2     1   I had an emergency w/ my dog-disc eruption. He walked when he went in, never walked out after xrays. Never gave me any instructions on how to take care of a dog with a spinal injury. Gave him the wrong medication and he was lucid and in pain. Ran out and replaced it didn't put it on chart. Dr. was snide and impatient. Over charged me by for drugs that are normally 10.00 for 20, cost me 80.00. Paid 800 total for visit. Didn't return my phone calls when my dog began to become paralzyed. Found out he had an 80 % chance of recovery if treated within 24 hours and was never given the option. Had surgery anyway( CA Surgery center) and he was too far gone. I would NEVER take my pet there again. Afterwards I found out they were notrious for bad over priced care but it was late at night and the closet to me. I should have sued them but I was so distraught over the loss it didn't occur to me until I started to do research and it was too late, and my sweet dog couldn't be brought back. RID: 20
