Click to report rating    12/14/13   1     4     4     3   Quakertown Veterinary Clinic claims to offer 24 hour emergency service to any animal in need. When my 31 year old Mollucan Cockatoo broke his leg late 1 night last May we were told Dr.Clark was too busy to see him & we were turned away. Our Cockatoo wasn't just "any animal in need", he was (notice I said "was") a patient of hers! Click to report rating    9/14/11   5     5     4     5   I trust these professionals with my dog's lives. What more can I say? I've never had a negative experience and I expect to pay the going rate for their expertise. RID: 27582
Click to report rating    4/4/11   5     5     4     4   I'm thrilled with QVC! They diagnosed what my regular vet could not and treated our baby with care and kindness. Dr. Irwin is amazing and I will continue to take Riley to her - as she seems to be the only vet he isn't terrified of! ;-) Thanks for giving us our Riley back! You guys rock! RID: 24107
Click to report rating    4/4/11   5     5     5     5   I will always be indebted,to QVC for saving the lives of my Tyrone and Gizmo on Christmas Day 2011, due to severe chocolate poisoning. RID: 24092
Click to report rating    3/20/11   5     5     5     5   I do not know what I would do without this bet. They saved my dogs life twice. And the care was incredible. But the last time my dog got sick they could not handle the type of surgery he needed. And referred me to univ of Penn. They are so kind and caring. I have so much faith in there entire staff RID: 23701
Click to report rating    2/18/11   5     5     4     5   Overall I would say this is one of the best veterinary practices around. State of the art 24/7, they are caring and knowledgeable. Used them for 21 years, love them! RID: 22978
Click to report rating    11/8/10   5     5     5     5   I won't go anywhere else. While there are many vets on staff, you can select which vet you want. I prefer Dr. Nancy Barin for my Chihuahua and previously for my Jack Russell. All the vets will spend as much time as it takes to diagnose and treat your pet as well as answer questions. In the event of an emergency, every vet there is competent. My family doctor charges me $95 for a 15-minute rush job. Q'town Vet charges $48 for an exam and diagnosis. Bloodwork, X-rays etc. are added costs, but if you tell them you have a limited budget, they will find ways to minimize your cost without jeopardizing the diagnosis and treatment of your pet. One of the vets even directed me to a med available at Wal-Mart and wrote on paper the exact dosage and how to split the tablets. Some vets have personality. Some don't. But they're all very competent. RID: 20721
Click to report rating    10/21/10   4     4     3     4   The staff is most considerate of you and your pet and have gone out of their way to help us and our pets through some tough times. We drive 40 minutes and pass several other vets to use Quakertown! RID: 20429
Click to report rating    9/16/10   5     5     5     5   We drive nearly an hour to QVC and it's well worth it. The facilities are very clean—we got a tour of the horse hospital, the small animal surgeries, the boarding/daycare facilities: there was no smell, no flies, no dirt. The staff is friendly and efficient and the doctor we saw, Dr. Barin, is everything we want in a vet: reasonable and realistic, kind, compassionate, professional yet very personable. They don't use those nasty, evil lift tables for exams; rather, they get down on the floor with the animal (we have German shepherds) and check him out. Our dogs show none of the usual stress and anxiety during the exam and if they're happy, I'm happy! Pricing is comparable to other vets and they have a "first visit free" coupon on their Website. Good place, good people! RID: 19754
Click to report rating    9/12/10   5     5     5     5   In February 2010, one of my cats began having trouble breathing, so my mother and I rushed him to his vet (Quakertown Veterinary Clinic) and they helped him pull through. Even though my little boy passed away in July 2010, I thank the doctors at QVC for giving me another five to six months with him after his first illness in February, months that I may not have had if it wasn’t for all their love and dedication to animals and to my little boy. All the doctors and QVC staff went over and above board especially Drs. Wright, Dzienisiewski and Lehr to help my little boy. I have found the staff at QVC to be very friendly, helpful, caring, knowledgeable and compassionate. I will not take any of my other three cats to any other veterinarian; I will drive the 45 minutes to an hour to take them to QVC. If you are looking for the best veterinarians, look no further then Quakertown Veterinarian Clinic, the drive is worth it. RID: 19699
Click to report rating    3/15/10   5     5     5     5   Excellent caring staff, nice facility, full service. Great to have 24/7 availability. Options are explained, quotes are given. I have used both the small and large animal vets, and have always been satisfied. Equine vet saved my horse's life. Prices are fair. Local vets speak highly of them. My neighbors also speak well of them. RID: 17065
Click to report rating    1/10/10   1     1     1     1   I took my Dog Bear 7 year old male rotti DVM Linda Otto and DVM PhilSvor overdosed my dog Bear and killed him Bear was 54 KG they him 600+ miligrams of Lidocaine 12 miligrams per kg . Lidocane becomes toxic at 6 miligrams per Kg and totly toxic at 8 miligrams per Kg they gave Bear 12 miligrams per kg causing respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest. When I came to the clinic Dr Otto told me she felt it was better Bear die at her clinic. What gave her the right ? I reported this to the Pa Vet licence board . When I started looking into what happened they sent me a nasty gram at work and tryed to harass me at work . If you love your animal stay away from quaker town vet clinic. If your one of there victoms contact me at Charri3122@aol.com RID: 16071
Click to report rating    12/29/09   5     5     5     5   I have had both of my Boxers treated at Quakertown, they are excellent. The Allentown ER wanted to put my one Boxer down, they "Suck", he lived a healthy normal life after their diagnosis. Our Female Boxer has also been treated at Quakertown, they are the best as far as I am concerned, its a drive, but well worth it, I would and have recommended them. They are the most compasionate people, they truly care about the animals that you are taking to them, they treat them with dignity even in their death, wonderful people. RID: 15913
Click to report rating    12/10/08   4     5     4     4   I have been to both Quakertown and Valley Central. Don't get me wrong, the medical staff at both were very nice and very informative, but Quakertown is less expensive, and you can see your animal right away. I picked up my dog on a Sunday morning after working the overnight shift! I would come here first between the two. Dr Consigli is a wonderful vet. RID: 10861
Click to report rating    8/22/08   5     5     5     5   This hospital has one of the best avian vets around, and yes, if you're an idiot, Dr. Liza Clark won't hesitate to tell you that. Caring, knowledgeable, knows when she doesn't know and isn't afraid to ask. I trust her completely to be honest with me and do everything in her power to keep my animals healthy. She vets my tortoise as well as my parrot and she's EXCELLENT. Just wish I could find a human doctor so caring and careful! I drive over an hour to see Clark and she's worth every minute and every penny. RID: 9746
Click to report rating    7/22/08   5     5     5     4   QVC may be on the higher $ side (they are 24 hrs.), but I would recommend them 1000%. Front desk staff could use some more hands, but they have been there for me thru 9 dogs in a lifetime, have always put me first in emergencies, and thoroughly explained every procedure. They are VERY professional. Through a mishap from a neglectful Vet in my area, I walked in the front door holding my dying dog, all I said was My Baby and they whisked her out of my arms and did what they could, unfortunately it was too late, not their fault by any account. Had I been smart enough to take my dog there first (other Vet was closer) I just know she would be alive today. If you love your pets as I do mine (as much as my kids) This is the Vet clinic to go to. My brother just happens to live by one of their Vets, he is a magnificent person. Only charged my bro. for supplies when he took in a stray cat. They do have a large staff of Vets, so if you have a favorite Vet, you may want to request them. RID: 9402

6/9/08   4     5     3     5   The Avian Vet is an absolute nitemare. Rude & obnoxious treats you like you are a total idiot.Large animal practice is incredibly expensive. Uses Vet students who provide mediocre care & will NOT use them again. Small animal practice is excellent provided you are being treated by one of the vets who has been on board for years. The office staff can be annoying, but it is an extremely busy place. I have used them for multiple bloat surgeries over the years with excellent outcome. The 24 hour feature speaks for itself. If you are local, it is an excellent practice. RID: 8806
Click to report rating    6/8/08   4     5     4     4   I've used this facility several times for my dogs. Seems to depend on which vet they assign to you relative to how caring they might be. The two that I have had extensive dealings with are excellent. One (bloat)emergency call at 3AM, they were ready at the door as I drove into their parking lot and came out to the car before I could even turn off the engine! However, the dog died on route as they were half hour away from my home. They are very well equiped. RID: 8763
Click to report rating    9/19/07   3     5     3     3   Staff doesn't seem interested that I am standing there. Shuffled around paperwork before acknowledging me. I found that rude. Didn't explain to me what was happening and I was nearly hysterical. I won't use them again. RID: 5936
Click to report rating    6/4/07   3     5     3     3   I have been using this vet for a few years now and overall i like them. The good thing about them is they are there 24 hours, and they are state of the art which means when i need something done i dont have to go to a main hospital miles away , they can do everything there.Price wise they are expensive, but you are paying for all that state of the art stuff. Overall Veternarians i like most of the vets that are there, i have only been putt off by one vet there. Grooming facilities and workers in there were very nice at taking care of my special needs dogs, and kept me up to date with everything that was going on with her. RID: 4348
Click to report rating    5/22/07   3     5     4     3   Kennel area and grooming excellent. Large animal excellent. good for emergencies and problems. has lost the small vet appeal since so big and sometimes feel all about money. I have taken animals there over the years and even worked there. It is a lot going on with a staff that is always moving so individual personalized attention isn't priority sometimes. animal care when boarding or in hospital is topnotch. RID: 4051
Click to report rating    4/13/07   1     2     1     1   Called ahead to bring my urinary blocked dog to them as an emergency. My dog was already to the point of shivers and vomiting. Female vet said they would but my dog in the back and get to her AFTER the appointments were finished! Unbelievable! (Should have reported her to the AVMA.) Went to Valley Central Emergency and they unblocked her. Their vets were better able to recognize an emergency, unlike Quakertown. Would drive out of state before I'd return to Quakertown Veterinary Hospital. RID: 3403

3/19/07   3     5     3     2   They are a 24 hour emergency vet,of which a good one is hard to find, and you do pay heavily for that service. But they are also less $ than some other emergency vets. Used them for an emergency operation needed on our cat. I would rate the surgeon there as excellent! The intensive care unit they have is excellent, very attentive to animals'needs, fully and well monitored. However for regular vet care, I would give them on overall poorer rating, SOME of the staff is at times not as well versed as they should be. I had a vet there try to "fix" our dog's cherry eye by pushing it back in place with a q tip (have since had it fixed with laser surgery at our current vet) We also made an appointment for a ferret, the vet gave us basic ferret info, then referred us to a ferret specialist. The thing that upset me most was when I took my 18yr old cat with a serious medical problem there for an emergency, they refused to treat him because we still owed money from the previous surgery. RID: 3085
Click to report rating    2/22/07   2     4     3     2   The staff seem very unorganized, unprofessional, and distant from clients, though the facility itself is very nice and up to date, but the pricing reflects it. RID: 2887
