I have always had a wonderful experience at Golf Rose, we had two diabetic cats that we took here monthly over the course of 4 years. They were elderly and when the inevitable time came everyone we dealt with was caring and kind, they cried with us and helped us through the difficult time. We moved to the next town over and still come to this vet because of the kind people and excellent service we always get. Yes, sometimes they get busy being the only vet open 24 hours in the nearby area, and yes sometimes vet services can cost a lot of money, this is why we have care credit and pet insurance through ASPCA. When you bring your animal in you have to remember that they may not be familiar with your animal and there are a million things that could be going on-not just what you say or think-they do the best they can with what they have and they have always been upfront with us about the cost of services, these reviews do not do this place justice. This is the best vet I have ever been to.

I have been using them for my cats for years. The first cat I found in a box, adopted a couple from a shelter, a couple from private parties where they didn't have a good life. They have gotten them all healthy. One wasn't right after a week I brought her in, she had a bad infection, they wanted to keep her there, too $$$ so I got the meds and followed directions, now she is great. They always have different vets and techs, it is a big place so didn't think too much of it. The real sick kitty did cost $700 to save her life. The only thing I can say is we pointed out the that the cabinet baseboard was broken and scared kitty ran under it, we were told they knew but the owner didn't want to fix. I do understand the cost issue people have and it is not the local vet you know and knows you but I never had any feeling of negligence. Went there on referral from friend with dog I babysat for who ate all my chocolate I freaked and took him in, a brief check and all ok NO CHARGE. They're nice.

TERRIBLE! We took our dog there for boarding as she was under their care. When picking up, we were overcharged and no one could tell us anything about her current condition. You wait a long time for curt service.

TAKE YOUR PETS SOMEWHERE ELSE. My two-year old dog passed away during a simple exploratory surgery at this hospital a few months ago. I took my dog in to emergency care here because it was the weekend (normal vet closed)and she had been throwing up thru out the day. The vet on call recommended doing a "simple" precautionary surgery to see if there was something stuck in my dog's stomach. She told me that she would give me a call when the surgery was done. A few hours later I received a phone call from the vet "I'm sorry but your dog passed away while we were stitching her up, I have no idea what happened she just stopped breathing." As you can imagine, I was utterly shocked and horrified. Upon further questioning, the hospital offered me no concrete reason why there was complication with the surgery, which leads me to believe that it was neglect on the part of the vet and staff.

We brough our kitten in because he was stung by a bee & our vet told us to bring him to an ER due to his head swelling so badly. They told us it would be $100+, took his temperature (didn't tell us what it was), & proceeded to tell us they had other emergencies & would be w/us soon. An hour later & no one had bothered to check on our cat or anything! Fed up, my fiance & I walked out, never saw a vet & didn't pay since we didn't see ANYONE! Our cat was fine luckily but based on our experience, this hospital doesn't care to tell you anything except the cost. If they didn't think we had an emergency, the could have told us so instead of making us wait so they could then charge us. Only go here if you have no other choice & it's an emergency!

Just awful experience! When I called here nurse asked me $130 plus is ok or not. After I arrived there , Doctor left my dog and she brought Price paper and showed me the expensive price and made sure about the cost at first. My dog was paralyzed for 4days by too much medicine. After I checked up the medication. I was afraid of them.Stay away from them.

This so called animal hospital is the worst in Illinois, it is dirty, staffs the most uncaring and unprofessional vets, techs and administrative team. I brought my poor pet there they buzzed me in and never came out of the back room when I went to look for someone 3 ladies were sitting in a room talking and laughing while my poor pet lie there in pain, when I called to speak to the owner they told me he only works 3 days a week and did'nt have time to take complaints, that explains why this hospital is run so poorly. I have been left waiting at this hospital for up to 3 hours only to have a vet walk in with smug attitude glance at my pet give me meds and charge me $300. I have heard many terrible stories about this place since my last visit and warn everyone avoid this place at all cost, cold hearted vets, techs that have no training, and a administrative staff that is simply clueless.

This is very expensive place to take your pet unless it is an emergency.I took my cat there and the bill was over $400 for blood work and an X-ray. It is open 24 hours so I would only go there in an emegency.

My two dogs were sprayed by a skunk, one started to foam from the mouth and nose, I drove all the way there, and they refused to see my dog. Telling me to go home and wash out his face, as a result, my dog had to be rushed to another 24 hour vet, almost an hour later, because of the reaction he had towards the skunk! The staff, and vets are down right nasty, and are only in it for the money..they even tried to charge me 100 bucks for walking in the door, and telling me my dog could not be seen! DO NOT TRUST THEM! I also use to live across the street, and could hear the dogs barking in the kennels all night! Even losing one dog one time! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!

EXTREMELY expensive! The costs they tacked onto the final bill blew my mind, it was a full page long. Based on previous experiences with the vet, my high estimate was a few hundred dollars... wrong, try thousand! WOW. Only bring your dog here if all the other vets are closed. Most of the staff was friendly (especially after the bill was paid), I'd consider this place again if I was extremely rich.

The staff are unprofessional, tend to be tardy and unresponive with early morning appointments, the pricing on services is high, and the facilities are in serious need of updating.
