Click to report rating    9/2/22   2     2     2     1   This vet is outrageously expensive with constantly raising prices and staff that barely speak any English. Examples - $319.00 for an annual checkup. $882.00 to neuter a 14-month-old male dog. Who do they think they are kidding with these prices? Stay away from these robbers. RID: 70427
Click to report rating    12/5/12   5     5     5     5   I love this facility, the staff and Dr. Lannes. I needed to bring one of my cats there for laser treatment that my (previous) vet does not do. I was so happy with the staff and Dr. Lannes that I moved all my cats (2 others) to ATAH. I have never had to wait long and the staff is extremely helpful and curtious. The cost of services that I called around for quotes on were very fair at ATAH RID: 38878

Click to report rating    9/10/12   5     5     5     5   Only the best at Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital! I can't remember all the names (and they are all good), but I especially enjoy interacting with Jay and Vanessa, and I completely trust both Dr. Lannes and Dr. Duprey. You are the best at providing personal attention, knowing clients and their history to watch for anything unusual; also I believe that as soon as my calls are answered, the reception team brings up the records to be able to speak specifically about that pet (either that or they have amazing memories!) I drive past the front doors of at least 7 vet clinics between my home and ATAH because of the quality of care my pets always receive at ATAH. Unless it's an emergency that can't wait the 40 minute drive, I would not go anywhere else Diane N. RID: 37112

Click to report rating    8/31/12   2     1     3     1   beware it really depends what Dr. is on staff the day you are there. If you pet is on long term meds and you miss any time they will not refill the med unless you have a full exam and that equals big bucks when they are done. and on the phone not friendly. and plays the victim when questioned.. they really think they put your pet first NOOOO its money in their pocket first RID: 36925

3/3/10   5     5     5     5   I have been going to Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital for a number of years. Drs. Duprey and Lannes and their staff are the best! Everyone there is very professional and pleasant. They are very, very good with the animals and very thorough. I feel very confident in their recommendations for treatment and the follow-through afterwards. I trust them with my cats. They always answer my questions and seem to have a lot of time for me, even though they are very busy. I would recommend them to anyone!! RID: 16875
Click to report rating    2/13/10   5     5     5     5   * I have had my animal treated by Dr. Lannes and Dr. Duprey for the past two years. The care and consideration that was given not only to my pet but, me as a client was wonderful. I would highly recommend these doctors and facility to anyone looking for top notch doctors and care. RID: 16587
Click to report rating    2/6/10   1     2     1     1   Unfortunately, the top priority of doctors and staff is profit. They may care about animals, but only as a means of income. They spread out treatment as long as possible, and make treatment as complex as possible. This is extremely unfair to and hard on the animals. Thus, the total cost becomes excessive and outrageous. I went here because my regular vet was unavailable. What a huge mistake. It ended up costing me 1200 for a constipated cat. That is utterly disgraceful. They also consistently make you wait a long time. They knew I was coming to pick up my cat and made me wait between 10 and 15 minutes. In the several times I was there, only once was the table in the examining room clean and free from other animals' hair. That does not seem very sanitary to me. The doctor who supposedly cared for my cat is young and probably needs to go back to school. If you value your pet, stay away! I wish I had paid attention to some of the other negative reviews. Those folks were correct. RID: 16480
Click to report rating    1/14/10   5     5     5     5   I love this place. The two dotors that I have had the pleasure of meeting and having care for my dogs are super; Dr. Duprey and Dr. Santiago. The staff is very friendly and helpful also. Five stars! RID: 16141
Click to report rating    12/20/09   5     5     5     4   I've been taking my animals here since 2007. Having a special needs cat I have spent a lot of time at the vet's office. The staff are always friendly, the wait time is minimal, and I have never felt like the vet was rushed. 3 of my 4 animals love coming to the vet (and the 4th just doesn't like going anywhere). Dr. Lannes has worked with me extensively to manage the care of my animals in a way my budget could afford, including phoning in prescriptions to a human pharmacy when possible. We have had long conversations about the pros and cons of different treatment strategies and she is always willing to explain why she feels a particular treatment plan is best. This is not the cheapest place around, nor the most expensive but they do not try to force expensive stuff your animal does not need on you. RID: 15836
Click to report rating    12/13/09   5     5     4     5   We have been using this facility since 1986. Drs. Duprey and Lannes have been treating 2 of our dogs for several years. They are very professional, as is the staff, and present you with all facts and related costs in treating your pet. I find they are sincere and knowledgable. I highly recommend this facility and these doctos! RID: 15759
Click to report rating    9/16/09   1     4     3     1   Very bad Doctors. They are overpriced. Don't give options to treat but the most expensive. The doctor almost killed my cat. She had possible feline Asthma and the doctor stressed her out so much during physical examination. the cat was agitated and the dr. was still very persistent in doing during a physical and was restling with the cat. my cat collapsed. That is when they decided to give her oxygen. Not recommended at all. RID: 14281
Click to report rating    6/4/09   2     3     1     1   Heartworm order to 1-800PetMeds not approved. Forced to pay vet's inflated prices. Pet needed dental surgery. Lannes said must pay cardiologist $350; heart murmur in 2004 (she heard nothing). Said wouldn't do surgery without it. Duprey put pet on antibiotics and said surgery could be done. WRITTEN estimate: "Actual total between $343.06 and $369.56." Plus feeding tube quote of "$40-50 but not more than $100" (Duprey). Gave ok based on this. Bill was $725.88, 75.3% higher than written quote. Discounted to $621 - 50% over. No complications took place during this surgery. I work at home - nobody attempted to reach me for approval. Sarah Jennings, office mgr said Too Bad, So Sad. Cust. since '02. We left. Thank goodness we did. Wrong size feeding tube was inserted. Bandages too tight. New vet says 5 minutes to feed; it was taking 30+ minutes due to wrong size tube. Value poor. Care poor. Prices 25-75% higher. Written estimates mean nothing. Much more; out of r RID: 13008
Click to report rating    3/6/09   4     5     4     5   I was very impressed with this vet. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. The staff and doctors spent a lot of time with my dog and I. RID: 11995
Click to report rating    11/2/08   4     3     3     3   Very friendly and competent staff. Good advice for dogs and cats. Has always taken good care of any problem for us! RID: 10492
Click to report rating    4/14/08   1     2     1     1   They claim to have chinchilla and rabbit experience. I first brought my rabbit in for a runny nose. He didn't check teeth, stomach, or lungs. Just prescribed Baytril, which they compounded on the site. By the time we got home (only 10 minutes by car), half the medicine evaporated. Follow up visits were over $100 and required constant refills of the Baytril. Two months later (and 4 refills/appointments), her nose was no longer runny. Then our young chinchilla (5 months old) had a runny nose. We brought him in, after again verifying he has chinchilla experience. He didn't check teeth, lungs, stomach, anything, really. Took him to the back to weigh him, and when he came back, our chinchilla had a shaved nose! He gave us ointment for it (not to be used near eyes OR ingested!), and Baytril. We have the chinchilla one watered down dose of Baytril, and he nearly died from it. Puffed up like a pinecone. The vet recommended proceeding with the Baytril. We found a new vet. Did not help AT ALL. RID: 8060
3/10/07   2     2     3     1   Does not inform owner beforehand of drugs to be administered during procedures (despite recommendation of drug manufacturer to do so). Does not describe signs of adverse reactions that should be looked for. Administers NSAIDs (manufacturer recommended for pain resulting from invasive procedures) routinely to cats for dental procedures, despite possibility of renal toxicity. My previously healthy cat now has CRF, and is not expected to survive for a year, and it will cost us a few thousand dollars to buy that year. They deny that the renal toxin administered at their office is responsible, and refuse to change their policies. They are not sufficiently experienced, nor to they learn from their mistakes. It appears that their choice of drugs is based as much on cost as quality. RID: 2997
