A 1000 character limit means my review must be in point form.
I question the impartiality of any reviewer who awards this dingy and depressing facility a five star rating. Office is a dive. Parking is a hassle. Thrift shop area is sketchy, though I admit, my car tires have never been stolen while parked.
Expensive. 3X more $ than a good country veterinarian. Buyer beware: Shop around.
Support staff so so.
Punctuality: Poor. Bring a book, or make sure your smart phone is fully charged.
Dr. is OK, hasn't killed/injured any of my pets whilst in his care. I do not want to trivialize this feat because I know of a vet in the Bathurst – Dupont area who killed a friend's dog and who's general liability insurance company had to pay out a stiff settlement.
in terms of general care, I can say I am satisfied. But, forgetting the dingy facility for a moment, my experience with price gouging and upselling prevents me from lavishing this business enterprise with anything but a medio

I took my old dog to Wychwood Animal Hospital because I ceased to trust most other animal clinics as they seemed far more interested in the welfare of their bank balance than in the welfare of my dogs.
She was having difficulties with urinating inside the house and I did not know if she was suffering from a disease/condition or it was just old age. It seemed to me like a gravy client for an unscrupulous Vet.
Dr. Levine performed a thorough examination and took blood and urine samples. His diagnosis of a simple infection proved right on the money and in no time flat my old Lab was back in form.
Dr. Levine's concern was genuine and my suspicious old Lab was putty in his hands. She has a great BS detector and I have seen her become very antsy in the hands of other Vets. His treatment was professional and he fixed her problems immediately. He didn't try to tell me that she needed $2000 worth of dental surgery to fix a bladder infection as my previous Vet did.

Dr. Levine recently treated my cat Tiggy for an upper respiratory infection. I was very impressed by Dr. Levine's gentle handling of Tiggy, as well as his comprehensive manual examination and careful attention to my list of Tig's symptoms. I was prescribed the appropriate drugs, which have quickly eased my cat's breathing and general comfort. Thank you Dr. Levine. The price was very reasonable, for the care and drugs provided, and as I explained that I was on a restricted budget, Dr. Levine was still able to take his time with me, and delivered excellent care with no unnecessary tests, however we did discuss further blood and dental work which could be done at a later date, should I have the means. Nicely done. Warm atmosphere. I will be bringing my cat here for any future care requirements and highly recommend this vet, certainly over St. Clair Veterinary or Bathurst Dupont Animal Hospital.

I recently had a great experience at this clinic . When an out of town friend of mine's cat fell ill, we got a recommendation from friends to go to Wychwood. The clinic made room for us to bring in the cat the same day we called. The front staff was amazing and we even met some great folks in the waiting area as we all shared pet stories. Dr. Mike (he asked us to call him Mike which was cool) looked her over and in laymen's terms gave us various options on how to proceed in light of her condition. In the end he prescribed some medication and gave us an important tutorial on how to administer the cat's medication which was extremely helpful as she is a bit of a feisty cat! The cat quickly got better over the next few days. Mike followed up with my friend after the appointment. There was no hard selling or excessive/expensive recommendations which we both appreciated and my friend found refreshing. Thank you Wychwood Park Animal Hospital! You guys were great.

'Hey, what a great site! I have 2 cats who were adopted
from there, waaay back when Dr. Levine started. He is so
passionately involved in the care of my male cat - who has
serious issues medically. He has been amazing with trying to
both accomodate my cat's health, and my limited income,
making sure my boy cat stays healthy. I am wonderfully
grateful for his extensive experience, compassion & the
fact that when he comes out of our appointment, he is
covered with cat hair - even on his beard!

My dog was just diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. I have a health
care background and some very recent experience with terminal cancer in the
family so I knew exactly what this process was going to look like. Our
experience at Wychwood with Dr. Levine and his staff was superlative. All of
the required as well as optional tests were explained in detail, as were
all the options. I felt I was getting a very accurate picture of the costs. Not inexpensive (x-ray, ultrasound) but MOST
CERTAINLY not as expensive as other vet clinics! Far from. I appreciated that there was no 'push' for unnecessary
tests/treatments.
So, if you bring an animal into your life you are responsible for all
of its needs. Companionship and love yes, but also vetting, food, training, etc. If you don't feel you have the means to do this, then I agree
with the previous author . You SHOULDN'T have that animal. But if you do, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend this vet and this clinic.

Good as long as you can afford their prices dont be fooled by honesty, bla bla bla The bottom line is there are no good honest vets that are sympathetic to people that are broke. If you cant afford the big bill dont have a cat.

Each time I was satisfied with the level of service, experience and price point. Dr. Levine was very open and informative and offered various options. There is never any pressure and I always feel at ease. There is no price for that kind of experience and honest information sharing. The comment from a previous post that the hospital fees are double is completely false (the fees are actually very competitive and very reasonable).

I have been at this clinic for 8 years. The kindness, care and attention Dr. Levine and his staff pay to my dog goes beyond my expectations. I have recommended friends and family to this veterinary clinic and will continue to for years to come. I wouldn't put my dog in anyone else's care.

Dr. Levine and his staff are fair, clear, honest, available and very good at caring for their animal clients. I've lived in a lot of neighborhoods in Toronto over the past ten years, and I've been to a lot of vets. Wychwood Park is the best so far.

I've been seeing Dr. Levine for my dog for over 9 years and recently started taking my cat. Very honest, dependable, explains all situations with care and easy to follow. Great follow-up as well - in situations where tests were required for my little ones, the clinic always followed up with results - putting my mind at rest. Will continue to visit this hospital for my pets :)

Dr Lavine and staff are very good to our adopted animals, 2 cats and in the past a mouse - all rescues. We will be fostering Dogs stating soon; Dr Lavine took time out of his day to return my call regarding our concerns on becoming a foster family and made us feel better about helping animals in need of fostering.

Wychwood took great care of our cat - she had issues with her hip of a genetic nature that caused her significant pain, and now she's happy and walking well ever since. To comment on the rating categories... Staff: they've always been friendly and professional with us. Facilities: good...not big, but quite sufficient. Punctuality: Never had any problems - our cat was examined, diagnosed and treated. Cost: On par with any private vet clinic - the professional fees are competitive and medicine cost is generally set by Big Pharma. I gave all 5's because there was nothing that was not good. I read other comments and all I can say is pet health is not different from human health (other than coverage) - sometimes Nature deals us a bad hand and we have to deal with it. The folks at Wychwood helped us and we're quite pleased - I never thought of going anywhere else.

I posted a rating of this vet below, I have informed you it was an a misunderstanding and that the doctor had a family emergency! I emailed you and explained that the doctor's cell phone could not get a good single where he was and the staff was afraid of privacy issues to talk about the doctor's personal life. The vet called next day and ordered meds for the cat and checked him. The issue with bill was a matter of me being upset and not grasping what the vet. said. My cat is 22 years and is getting better, it took a little time for the meds to start working. This rating was written in anger, without having all the information. You have my I.P. address, so you know its not anyone other me who asked to remove the post. This vet help the same cat 2 yrs ago. The cat almost died from a **** cat infection. I should realize vets are people too and can have real personal bad things happen to them as well. Kate :)

I took my cat there for 4 years and was very pleased with the service. The staff are friendly and Dr. Levine clearly communicates your options and doesn't pressure you. The only reason I left was because I moved to another part of the city and I needed to minimize travel time (ie carrier) for my cat.

The staff is very helpful, always able to fit in emergencies and very caring. The vet is understanding and never pressures you into expensive treatments without suggesting cheaper alternatives first. Also offers inexpensive neutering/spaying of cats.
