A vet there made me feel like he could give my 11 year old dog a better quality of life if he opened him up to remove a tumor from his liver. I was so upset I looked up to this vet for the right thing to do for our beloved friend. When he ultrasounded my dog and told me about the tumor I realize he never even showed me the tumor on film I wish I was in the room when this was being done. Too quick to operate on an older dog and to say the least when he opened up our dog he called to tell me how widespread the tumor was which probably originated in the pancreas and as I do research I'm finding out so many untruths to this. I think he realized he made a mistake and covered it up by saying the tumor had grown. Our dog was old and had slowed down but to me he wasn't suffering and if I even suspected him of suffering I would never make him live just for me. I'm so mad about the chain of events.

My animal had a simple procedure and ended up in ICU (which I never knew about till I switched vets).Once I switched vets we found out that they blacked out some of his charts from his surgery (the simple one that went wrong). They do not have the best interest of your animal. It is all about making money (pushing to buy pet insurance). They will up-charge you on every little thing and want to run all these different test that are not needed. I am the biggest animal lover and I beg you NOT to send your animal there. Thank you for your time!

I will never take my pet back to these clicnics after over a year of being raked over the coals with allergy screenings and having to make a special medication up to treat his allergies that did then not work. Now they say I need to see a dermatoligist as they have done all they can do

We wish we'd been referred to a certified ophthalmologist & not trusted that the vet here was competent to perform eye surgery. We had more problems after seeing him than when we walked in. He is NOT CERTIFIED in Ophthalmology.

This place is a ZOO! No follow up by vets after surgery...picked up dog who was in extreme pain...they said it was due to neediness. This dog has never been needy. They gave me pain meds and dismissed me. I am convinced that they caused this dogs back to go out during dental surgery. Instead of admitting that they may have made a mistake and referring me to someone else who could actually assist the dog they just dismissed me. To see your dog in extreme pain for over 4 days is horrible. I finally took her to an emergency clinic that specialized in orthopedics. They gave her an epidural which seems to have helped. They also said that for older dogs they do not place them on a hard table but use a special mattress to prevent this type of mishap. I WILL NEVER USE METAIRIE SMALL ANIMAL AGAIN!! THEY ARE NOT ANIMAL LOVERS!!

The front desk must check on answers as they do not treat the pets. There are many doctors and rather than keep you waiting, the next avail will see you. They are great. I would not take my pets anywhere else. I just lost a cat and they cared for her doing all they could. It is clean, very modern, open at all hours, and the doctors keep up with current methods.

The front desk staff can not answer a question, the vets run a post office operation. Never will your pet see the same vet twice. Upsell everything!
