Expensive but good. Vets are the best we have found anywhere. Pay attention to what the vet tells you while examining your pet, because sometimes the prescriptions are incorrect and some charges may be off. Office has recently been sold to VCA.

when we got our new puppy, expensive vaccinations were expected.... but I will agree with some of the other posters with one vaccine here and another there...it adds up quickly. I will also agree with other posters that the girls behind the desk did NOT impress me at all. They were rude. They often forgot there were people in the waiting area while they talked about the people who were coming in for appointments that day and how stupid they were. I even witnessed a poor man needing someone to look at his poor bleeding cat and they refused because he didnt have an appointment and then talked about him, calling him an idiot after he left. My pup is getting some work done there next week. I am STILL almost regretting that I am taking him there. I am sure the doctors are very good, I only see the one doctor that works weekends (she isnt even the one working on my poor pup while he is getting fixed). So far nothing has impressed me. I will be searching for a new vet soon.

I have been taking my dog here for 3 years without complaint. The staff is friendly and the Vet's are very knowledgable and caring. I have moved out of the area but continue to bring my dog here for care.

My wife and I have taken our Shar-Pei to Herndon Reston Animal Hospital since she was a puppy back in 2005. The staff is very friendly and capable in dealing with a "high maintenance" breed. We wouldn't trust any other vet. I can't believe some people will judge the quality of care their pet will receive just because the building is old with outdated 1970's architecture. I see it as a positive- they have been around since the 1970's and have built up a great reputation!!

Hernodn Reston Animal Hospital overall is wonderful. We have been going for over three years now. While the prices have increased so has everything else! They treat your pet as a member of the family, not "just an animal." After reading several posts, comments have been made about long wait times and the general "appearance" of the facilities. Wait times have improved considerably over the last year. As for comments on the facilities, the building itself is old but all the equipment and quality of the Vet staff is top notch. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

The first few times I took my dog to HRAH was without incident, but noticed the prices seemed high, they charge a waste removal fee of $2.50 which should be included in the office visit price. The last time I took my dog for a skin infection the vet told me the 2 tests he needed to take would be $16 each and I that I could use hydrogen peroxide and neosporin to treat the area as well as the 2 antibiotics I had to buy. When reaching the front office to pay the test were $22 and $25 each and they also charged me for ointment I didn't need and for a fecal sample I never gave them! The bill came up over $200!! I had them take off the ointment and the fecal charge and the toothpaste and still paid $156! These people in the front office like to gouge you left and right and they are rude to boot!

I had heard good things about this animal hospital; however, my experience there was terrible. I moved to the area from California and this vet was NOTHING like the gem we left. The facilities seemed dirty. I know animals are dirty, but this one seemed out of date and just grimey. The receptionists were excellent, but the rest of the staff were just unbearably rude. The wait seemed to take forever. The prices were unbelievably high for a yearly exam and vaccinations of my cats. I couldn't help but wonder where all the money was going. The staff seemed preoccupied with their relationships with one another and were very inconsiderate to paying customers. I will NOT be back.

If you value your pet do not take them to HRAH. They lost our cat that we loved for 13 years. We boarded our cat Simba with HRAH while we went on vacation. During this time they called reporting they had accepted a flea infested animal in the clinic. They needed to remove all their patients to deflea the premises. They asked for permission to take our cat home for the day. When they took our cat out of the clinic they transported him in a CARDBOARD carrier. The bottom dropped out. If you love your pet do not take them to HRAH under any circumstances. Our loving cat would not have been lost other than for their complete and utter negligence. They shouldn't have accepted a contaminated animal without taking proper precautions and they certainly should NEVER place someone's cherished pet in a temporary flimsy CARDBOARD carrier!
