Our 2 yr old Golden had ingested something potentially poisonous & fatal on the first and worst snow storm of the year. After several attempts, the driving conditions were way too insane - we were not able to get up to our regular vet in time and very desperately needed help. We were seen and treated IMMEDIATELY by Dr. Dabir and staff within minutes of us calling them while we were on our way there - almost after hours. By the time we arrived, they had our dog’s vet records sent over and they were ready to treat him. They treated him and they did it fast - and they saved his life. If I ever had to switch from my regular vet - I would come here instead. We showed up there hysterical and scared and upset and they were nothing but professional and calm and kind to us. I will never be able to thank them enough for what they did for Ben, our Golden - I don’t have human children, he is like a child to me. I will be forever grateful.

Dr. Marsig and the entire team is absolutely fabulous. They cared for both our previous dogs throughout their lives, and they care for our current one. Dr. Marsig is also Fear Free certified, which is great news for pet parents who don't want to use aversive methods with their animals.

Money Grabbers! Over medicate! really do not care about animals they treat! Cold and uncaring. Before going there compare their rates to any vet in Toronto and Markham and you will see how they over charge!

Their receptionist Karen is amazing and the vet who does the night shift. However, they are definitely money grabbers. I would not recommend, on that alone.

Thank you to the entire staff of the Animal Hospital of Unionville for a positive experience. The receptionist was friendly and made my pet and me feel welcome. The doctor was knowledgeable and provided valuable recommendations for care. The veterinary assistant outlined my options before proceeding with any tests. My pet was loved and well taken care of.

Brought my 4 month old kitten to this vet for needles - they said $98 for 3rd boosters including check up. Waited 45 minutes b4 being seen even though we were the only ones there. Their tech took down notes of what we said then Dr Goldman came into examine our kitten who had soft poops for 2-3 days. She said have his anal glands expressed to relieve gas, put on meds for 10 days & have fecal test done. Would not give kitten boosters because of soft poop (kitten was otherwise healthy). Cost: $243.80! 9 days later, kitten was having full blown diarrhea. Went to Kim's Pet Hospital & was told kitten should never have been put on antibiotics. Said it was a diet issue. Put kitten on prescription food only. Gave him his boosters (said he was healthy enough!). Filed insurance for Unionville animal hosp & TECH LIED ON NOTES saying kitten had diarrhea for TWO WEEKS. OSPCA insurance REFUSED to pay vet fees & food. Total? $700! Kitten is also fine now with diet change! AVOID THIS PLACE!

First time today. I left with a good experience. Dr Marsig was great. He spent a good 40 minutes with me . Very thorough . Reading all the feedback . Get your pricing first . I was surprised first consultation / exam was complimentary! Yea I agree about the blood collection fee . That should be reconsidered since my previous vet did not charge that .

Princess our cat has been coming to see Dr.Ernst Marsig for the past 13 years for her shots and check ups.She does not like other people but Dr Marsig has a way about him that really works. One year ago Dr Marsig recommended dental work for a canine tooth that had swelling around the gum. We put it off due to $$$ reasons until SEPT 11 this year. 6 days ago Aug 15 we had no choice as our darling had been off her food, hiding, puking up hairballs and drooling constantly and started to lose weight so we took her in.Dr Marsig immediately scheduled her for the next morning and not only the canine came out but another tooth that had a cavity down to the pulp.Poor baby must have been in such pain.Today Aug 22 she had her check up and her gums are healing nicely, she is eating again and coming for belly rubs etc.We are very happy with the followup done by the clinic and the courtesy and excellent service we receive there every time. Thanks a lot to Dr.Marsig and team.We will go no where else.

I brought one cat to the vet with increased thirst and loss of weight. And the cat was elderly. The vet said no problem, just old. Sure enough, one year later, my cat hat major kidney failure, which the vet offered to treat for thousands of dollars. He died. Stupid me, I brought my other cat (14 years old) to the vet because of mental problems with the first cat dying. She was peeing and defecating everywhere. I had a one year baby. The vet was very rude and obnoxious.

I took my cocker spaniel to Dr Marsig for years. I really wish I hadn't. He jumped to expensive testing and basically scared us into doing it. He had found during her exam that she had an irregular heartbeat. He worried us so much because he said we need to test her today, he made us feel that our beloved dog would die of heart failure if we didn't test her. After all the tests it turns out her irregular heart beat was because she was nervous. (I think I would have been nervous to if he were my doctor) I'm glad that I found a new clinic that takes care of my sweet girl. They inform us properly why we need to test her, not scare us into testing.

EXCELLENT VET. High praise. Dr Marsig and his team have been taking excellent care of our dogs for over 15 years. The clinic is very clean and the front staff are always friendly and professional. We have had three bulldogs in Dr Marsig and Dr Goldmans care, each dog with their own complicated health issues. This team has been extremely knowledgeable in dealing with their care in a way that has been caring, insightful, resourceful, kind, and budget friendly. I am extremely appreciative of their budget friendly practice with such a complicated breed. Dr Goldman is absolutely fantastic, great addition to the team. Dr Marsig always takes whatever time necessary to explain everything, we are never rushed, and is always extremely kind, resourceful and caring. He cares about our pets as we do. He is always willing to research and find a way to make it work. I always find great information readily available at the office on food, pet ins., etc., We highly praise and recommend this clinic.

In September 2012 we adopted a shelter dog. From our first visit, Dr.Marsig and his team provided compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable advice for our new girl. The clinic is clean and well organized and the staff made a point of greeting our dog by her name at each visit. As it turned out, our beautiful dog had lymphoma and a short while after we adopted her; we made the painful decision to euthanize her. While it was a devastating loss, we drew great comfort and strength by Dr. Marsig's gentle and kind nature. He stayed with my dog and I as she peacefully passed away. Both of us shed tears at her passing. We have since adopted a second shelter dog and did not hesitate to bring her to meet the team at the Animal Hospital of Unionville. As was the case with our first dog, their respectful, thoughtful and thorough approach was first-rate. We would recommend this Animal Hospital to all pet-lovers. Christina S.

I have a three year old skinny pig which developed an infection in his foot. Being a rarer breed and originally bred for medical testing, skinny pigs have virtually no immune system. That being said, Dr. Marsig, took the time to reasearch, treat and follow up with me ( this has been a six month process) I am happy to say that the finish line is just around the corner and if it weren't for Dr. Marsig's perseverance I don't know if my skinny pig would still be alive. My skinny pig is a member of my family and not just a rodent. I have recommended Dr. Marsig to many people already and hope that this posting sheds some much deserved positive light on their services. One very satisfied and loyal customer. Thank you again for caring!

I have been going to this vet since 1994. I am very happy with them. They saved my 6 yr old cat who was in liver failure. She is as good as new now. Dr. Marsig easily accomplished a procedure that an emergency vet at an after hours clinic was unable to do. They really know their stuff. I also compared their price to others for canine teeth cleaning and they were significantly better. I find that all the staff and vets are professional, friendly and caring. I currently have 2 cats and one dog. Another cat I had lived to the ripe old age of 18 thanks in part to their great care. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

I didn't know about all these comments and ratings before I've been to the clinic, but I have the same experiences and comments as other people. We were caring for a relative's dog for half a year and racked up quite a bill for them. There wasn't a single visit when we brought the dog to the clinic that we left with just a regular examination's fee. There were always further tests that needed to be done. Of course we consented because we believed that they were absolutely necessary for the dog's health. We have since returned the dog to the owner and have brought home our own puppy. We chose to take our puppy elsewhere and have had only pleasant experiences, with very thorough explanations of what tests are absolutely necessary and what are only strongly recommended. While we understand that often a variety of tests are required in animals, and each pet is different, we felt it was excessive!

booked a regular check up session for my cats, quoted $75 per cat. Walked out with a $700 bill, they claimed that the additional cost are for check are for lab tests. 2 days later they called back and ask me to bring back the cat for more tests which will cost another few hundred dollars. Wish I have read the reviews on this site sooner, would not return again.

This clinic couldn't be better. We had the most wonderful experience. They truly care for pets and people. We are seniors and don't have much money. Our dog was very sick for a week and we waited (too long) until Saturday to bring her in. Dr. Marsig saw her after a short wait and was visibly worried about her. He suggested to keep her on fluids adn do some tests, which we simply could not afford. I told him we had $400 to spare. He understood and spent 5 minutes crunching numbers to give us the best "bang for the buck". Then he gave her some fluids and pills and took a sample to send out. We were all afraid it won't be enough to pull her through but it worked but we had no choice. On Monday he called us and she had started eating again. THANK YOU!!! They did their best within our means. They truly care and want the best for their patients and undestand the owner's circumstances. You are wonderful!

Went there with my dogs to get their rabies shot since it was close to home. The needle of the shot broke off since the vet pulled it out improperly. He didn't notice until I'd asked. Which he then proceeded by laughing it off. I would expect more from a vet who is charging premium prices. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Marsig is a tall and handsome man but I dont think he has what it takes and/or should be a vet. I brought my cat to see him because my cat coudlnt "poo" for 3 days. After a 5 mins basic check up, Dr. Marsig said my cat ate something that got stuck in tummy. Dr. Marsig suggested a X-ray to have a better look, after that Dr.Marsig wasnt 100% sure what it was and suggested a surgery - He said that was ONLY way and would cost me $3,500.00. I didnt have that amount and he basically left me only 2 choices: 1.) borrow money and pay the bill 2.) Surrender my cat to SPCA. I told him I would go (Still I paid the $300 bill for the day) and think about it, he bluffed me a criminal charge if I didnt take care of my cat and I had to sign a form for not taking his advise. After I got come, an agent(police like) with OSPCA showed up at my door because he received a call from Dr.Marsig's office. Story short, I went to see other vet,a full check up and prescription that cost me ($50) and recovered.

I've been going to UPH for years for my cat and rabbits. Naturally, I brought my puppy there. When the dog was about 1.5 years old, it started retaining water in her abdomen. I went to the clinic and they suggested me to run a few tests. Tests after test and scans and more scans and they still couldn't find the cause of the problem. I spent literally thousands of dollars for diagnostics and they never found the cause. Fine, sometimes bad things happen. What really prompt me to write a bad review is that the vets doesn't really care about the animal's condition and generally gave me a feeling that they just want to run tests for money. The same vet could not be booked since they have 3-4 at the site and the new vet has no clue about the past symptoms. It was a horrible experience and the clinic showed no signs of understanding. At the end, I brought her to another vet and found out that it was cancer. Could've saved myself 1000s if the UPH were honest. Bunch of scammers!

Over precribed medication. Not very understanding to my concerns. Had to speak to Dr. Marsig to get any results at all. If you do go to this clinic only deal with Dr. Marsig.
