We took our dog there to get neutered a while back. It was more complicated than usual because our dog had a retained testicle. Initially, we were told that they had found the retained testicle and everything was fine. However, after the biopsy report came back, it turned out that they had found excess spleen tissue instead. Whether it was a lack of knowledge and experience or incompetence, it is not reassuring at all that a vet could not tell the difference between a testicle and excess spleen tissue. Because of this, our dog had to go under the knife a SECOND time. The staff were not apologetic and advised us that we will not be charged, as if that was the real issue. They even had the audacity to charge us $20 for antibiotics when the stitches showed some signs of an infection. Overall, this clinic seems to be all about the money and it's safe to say, we have moved on from this heartless and inexperienced veterinary hospital.

This Veterinary clinic is difficult to deal with. They will not give out a perscription unless it is filled out by themselves. Their prices are over double with what Pets Drug Mart a on line service charges for the same medication. They offered several excuses why they would not give me a perscription but none of what they said had any value. I explained that it is my choice to get the perscription medication at any place that I wanted to use. However they refused tof provide me with a perscription and would only sell me the medication from their place. As mentioned they charge over double for the same medication I can get on line from a licensed distributer. As I required this medication for my pet it left me with no option but to purchase it from them. As far as I am concerned myself as a customer has the right to get a perscription that can be filled where I want and not be held hostage.

The front desk staff are helpful, but as for the actual animal care, I find the office poor. On two consecutive occasions, I ordered a pain killer prescription for my dog who was severely suffering and when I went to pick them up (at the allotted time) they didn't have them... And claimed they were never ordered. so I was left with my dog who was in pain with nothing to do for her. Another important thing, I've never had the same Doctor two visits in a row, they always have a different doctor and I'm having to re describe the case and the issues happening over and over again. Clearly that's not valuable for the animal if each one doesn't know what's going on? I think it's a terrible clinic

The staff are nice in person, but i have had issues, one in person and one over the phone. The facilities are what you would find at a standard vet's office, the punctuality is there, but they really do charge you alot. The charge a minimum fee of 75 dollars for EVERY visit and they say thats a fee that is done when they do a full physical exam of the dog..i asked when they do physicals and they said every time before a vaccination, i also went there for stuff not related to a physical and they still charged me 75 dollars, they really do only care about the money, make you order unnecessary tests to "rule out" bla bla bla. they charge a wack load of money and do not provide nearly the amount of value..put it this way, the vet i came from, full set up of shot was maybe 50-60 bucks including examinations..i follwed my vet to this clinic and they charged 70 for vaccinations plus 75 for vet fee, it was well over 150 after taxes. AVOID THIS PLACE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY, NOT YOUR ANIMAL.

I absolutely love these guys! My cat was in for a dental, as a first time patient, and they treated her like gold the whole time. She came home with a cute pink bandage and very specific medication dosage instructions. They called the following day to make sure that she was feeling alright and, at the free followup exam 10 days later, sent me home with samples of toothpaste to keep my kittys teeth squeaky clean. They clearly care about their patients and the owners.

Dr Leah is my only vet for all my cats and dogs over 6 years. She was with us thru good times for our animals and thru hard times, she was with us crying when we had to put our kitty down. Prices are very affordable, the vet is ethical, reputable, and she does care for each cat and dog and bunny and whoever else she takes care of! Professional, always ready to adjust to our budget, always ready to do extra research to find out what is wrong! We did numerous spays and neuters for our kittens and I would never trust another vet to do it at such young age - Dr Leah is the best! National Treasure Vet!

I've been going to this clinic for many years. They've just added a new Vet to the practice. Both Dr. Montgomery and Dr. Danyluk are wonderful! The girls at the front are extremely caring and helpful. I have never been charged for quick follow up appointments and they are always upfront about costs (no hidden fees, like I've found at other clinics). They have always been there when one of my pets is having an emergency, either by getting me in right away or telling me what to do over the phone. I've always been encouraged to ask questions, I've even been able to email the doctors directly with any concerns. They always call to check on my pets if they've been sick. I have been many places over the years and I'm defiantly sticking with them! A few of my friends have switched to them and they have never had a problem either.

Been going to these 2 doctors for many years for my dog and the girls at the counter and over-seeing visits have always been rude and dismissive. Make you feel uncomfortable for asking questions or expressing concerns. Doctor Leah has been nice to my dog and I think I would trust her to do further procedures as she seems careful and caring. But it has not been cheap, they charge for every single visit, even if it's a 5 minute conversation after another visit. I'm not overly enthusiastic about their over-all level of helpfulness either. The direction has been progressed by the members of my family and personal research.

When we went to Dr Montgomery she was rude and impatient and does not seem to really care or love animals. She just seemed to more interested in how much money she could charge us for her services and tests. She seemed to lose all interest in us and our dog when we told her we were on a fixed income and could not afford all the treatments she was pushing on us!

Amazing clinic! It was my first time there, and I went in for routine vaccines. The staff at the front were super friendly and paid a lot of attention to my dog. Dr. Montgomery was very knowledgeable and caring. I was very pleased when she informed me that it wasn't necessary for my dog to get every single vaccine. She explained what they were all for and which ones he really "needed" for his lifestyle.

We have been visiting this facility for over five years, it took some time to get to know everyone and NOW we do and would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Montgomery and all of her staff whatsoever. Our bunny is boarded there now and again and is spoilt rotten by everyone concerned. Our golden retriever is still a little hesitant on his visits but is always treated with a kiss from Dr Montgomery and a treat and we leave with a happier puppy even if it was not his appointment. Every question, phone call or email has ALWAYS been answered and we have not been advised to make an unnecessary billable appointment. Our belief is you need to do some research yourself if you are worried about your pets and Dr Montgomery and all her staff will guide you expertly through your questions and concerns and is the only practice in this area that had extensive knowledge about rabbits. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Dr. Leah and her staff are amazing! My dog loves going there. She's never tried to up-sell me with anything, and doesn't push unnecessary vaccines or procedures for my dog. She's easy to get along with, has a sense of humor, and her facility is always clean. They're expanding at the moment, and will soon be even more spacious! two thumbs WAY up for dr. leah and her staff :)

Our last dog went to the same vet for 12 years, we switched to Dr. Leah and our dog fell in love with her the day she walked in. Since we lost our last dog I now take my dog there and he becomes excited about 2 blocks away! Great staff, great facility, amazing demeanor.

I've brought my 2 pomeranians (less than 3 lbs each) for Laser spay surgery, 6 baby teeth removed and microchipped. Dr. Montgomery did a very good job and the incision was only 1 inch or even less. They were already back to normal on the next day. We are very happy and will recommend all our friends to this clinic. Thank you Dr. Montgomery p.s. the clinic is spacious, nice and clean.

I started seeing Dr. Montgomery 11 years ago after being to several area vets for my dogs allergies and getting no where! Within weeks she had his skin cleared up, his `chewing``gone! Since than I have accumulated 4 cats whom also receive top notch care. i have referred several people to her, all whom have had nothing but great things to say about her. Her charity work is admirable. In my opinion you get what you pay for.

Highly recommend Dr. Montgomery! She is extremely understanding and while she isn't always the cheapest, she is one of the most experienced vets I have used in 25 years. If funding is an issue, let her know that up front and she will do her best to keep the costs down. She has always made time for our emergencies!

The staff were very obnoxious, they were bickering amongst themselves when i walked in and completley ignored me, my appointment was half an hour late and i was one of the first appointments of the day! The place smelt and seemed out of date and small. The cost of vaccines was insane! There are so many other vets around that are 10x cheaper! Save your time and money stay away from Dr Montgomery! I have been to see her a few times and its the same thing every time, Rude staff, Lazy staff, Late appointment, Dirty Rooms, You can hear staff in other rooms talking about inappropriate things, and a Dr that over charges. I will be taking my Puppy elsewhere from now on!

My puppy is very sick and I felt as though Dr. Montgomery was not interested in my dog's issues but was more concerned about how many other patients she could get in. $$$ Completely mis diagnosed my dog and just gave what he had a name just so we would be happy with her answer, now my puppy is in the hospital on intervenouse because he is so much sicker than we thought. Although her bedside manner is awesome and she seems to really love the animals I would rather have a Dr. that actually knows what they are talking about and get the proper treatment my animal needs. Overall very disappointed

I am SO impressed by Dr Montgomery. I was concerned about having my 2nd yorkies spay surgery after almost losing my 1st yorkie at a different vet. My friend recommended Dr Montgomery, and am I ever glad that I listened to her. The staff was very patient with addressing all of my questions and concerns. My yorkie was in good shape when I picked her up (after a spay and 8 teeth extracted), but what I couldn't believe, was how nice and neat her incision looked! It was teensy, tiny, perfectly straight, and looked like it was healed from the moment I got her (no visible stitches). It isn't even swollen or red, and we're on Day 2 of healing. Dr Montgomery did a top knotch job, that's for sure! My puppy girl has had an amazing recovery, and I'm positive it's due to the excellent care she received. To top it all off, it was the most reasonable price that I have ever paid for a spay. I highly recommend this vet! Laser spay, internal sutures, 8 teeth extracted, meds, microchip + tax = $299

My dog loves it there! She gets excited every time we arrive in the parking lot, the staff were very welcoming and our appointment went smoothly. The DR was very good with my dog and made the visit a happy experience for her. Cost was definatly lower then some other clinics i have been to, but you sure dont loose out on quality!

I took my dog in for teeth cleaning and a couple of teeth extractions. The vet was very informative and caring. I recieved two estimates one best case price and a worst case price the bill I paid was lower than the best case price. That price included all of his take home meds and a follow up visit. I was very impressed.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Montgomery and her wonderful caring staff! I have been going to her veterinary practice for years with my precious Abyssinians (which we breed) and wouldn't take them anywhere else! Dr. Montgomery is very compasionate and very educated in diagnosing and treating (she keeps very updated with the most recent information on health issues and testing) when something goes wrong. She always does her very best and "will not" suggest a test or charge for anything that isn't necessary (which can be a concern with some vets)...she takes things step by step and ONLY does what is needed, and best of all she is VERY HONEST! The animals welfare is always most important. I can't be more fortunate to have such a WONDERFUL CARING VET, one who I completely trust with all my four legged fur babies. My Aby's mean the world to me... and to Dr. Montgomery cares about them as much as I do!

Sold us wrong dose of flea medication that made our dog sick. Charged us again and again to evaluate the sickness before we realized it was the flea medication. They admitted they gave the wrong dose but would not apologize. I asked how I could help my sick dog but they kept delivering a sales pitch for the flea medication. They then had a sales person from the flea product company call us to give us more of a sales pitch. All I had asked for was how to make my dog well. When your pet is sick you certainly don't want to hear a sales pitch. The receptionist there was particularly awful. Definitely these people don't really care for sick pets. Vet also recommended unnecessary eyelid surgery for a normal condition of our breed. Leaves me wondering if money is what they really care about.

Dr. Montgomery made special arrangements with me when I had to put my rescue dog down (at no additional cost). It was very emotional as they knew him. We all shed some tears. Their support that day spoke volumes to me.

Dr Leah is great - you can tell that she loves her patients. She gives mine a kiss when they come in - now that's Veterinary service. She has been there for emergencies for us as well as the sad time when I had to put my little fur baby to sleep - Cant say enough good things about her.

Dr. Montgomery is FANTASTIC! I drove to Vancouver for YEARS because I had a wonderful vet there and couldn't find anyone I was equally happy with until I met Dr. M! She's looked after our pets for years and is very knowledgeable and up-to-date. Always open to input and ideas. Her staff is delightful and knowledgeable, too! I wouldn't do without any of the staff at Shaughnessy, and all our pets love their aunties! :)
