I brought my 1yr old Cat Simba in for emergency care, he ingested toxic insecticide and was suffering the effects of sever toxic poisoning.
The staff at Atlas immediately admitted Simba into 24hr care and started Simba on IV Fluids flush, and treatments. Within the next 24hrs Simba started responding well to his treatments. I am so very grateful to the team at Atlas, all the staff and Doctors: A very special thanks to Dr's Rand & Dhawwan they took such good care of my baby Simba to ensure he would make it through to recovery. I 100% recommend anyone to take their pets to Atlas if you want the best quality professional care and treatments for your pets. My total invoice was surprisingly less than I had even anticipated. I can't thank all the staff and Doctors enough for saving the life on my precious Simba. I could not imagine my life without him. I will always be grateful to Atlas for their excellent care and treatment of my Cat. Totally Recommended as the #1 Best Vet in Vancouver.

I've been taking my dogs here for awhile and I am extremely satisfied with the veterinarian and front desk staff. They have been nothing but kind and understanding. I will continue to bring my dogs here because I trust them. I also really appreciate them.

Dear Public this man is racist against Chinese people and will try to lure you in with low prices then when you have an actual emergency he will not provide proper care and take advantage of your emotional state.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. My girlfriend brought her dog here for some small stomach pain in the middle of the night (thought she might have eaten something funny), was immediately told it's a cancerous tumour and your dog will die. They immediately suggested invasive surgery and removed half a foot of supposedly dead intestines. When asked for pictures, or proof, they could not provide it. They refused to give the animal back or provide updates and we had to hassle them nonstop. I took photos of the area where they keep your pets, its extremely dirty and unhygienic with small cages, pets crying etc. Her dog was covered in it's own dried vomit, and has now passed away from infection on the inside of the wound 2 days later. This is honestly the worst practice I've ever seen and should be shut down.

I brought my chihuahua in for a dental check and teeth cleaning (shes very bitey when people try to touch her teeth- so they put her under anesthetic like we requested them to). Teeth were well clean and she seemed absolutely fine at first glance- just happy to see us! However, when I got her in the car I noticed she had dried feces all over her bottom half. It was very noticeable as soon as you touched or smelled her. I cannot believe they let my dog poop herself in the cage she was in AND didnt clean her? When we got home she was barking at the door and I thought she was just happy to be home but when she got inside she immediately gobbled down her whole water dish - did they not give her water either??? I was a dog handler for two years and I know it is NOT that hard to take a little sedated chihuahua out to poop / wash her AND give her water. In short- the services they provide are cheap and well done but the animals are not taken care of behind closed doors.

Dr Bhullar is an amazing diagnostician and has been one of the best veterinarians I have ever known as a breeder of more than 20 years. He's fair, reasonably priced and is great at diagnosing things that other vets have often missed. They are a very busy clinic and sometimes you have to wait, but the price is worth it! I have heard lots of terrible things but you need to go and see for yourself. They are not true.

Their front-end staff were not very hospitable or helpful. I felt that it wasn't good to ask too many questions, that I was wasting their time. I switched to another vet, and we had to wait for days to have my pet's records sent over, which the new vet needed. The procedures they did, which were expensive, did not help my pet. The new vet suggested something totally different right away, that explained what was going on with my pet. I could forgive the unnecessary procedures, I know sometimes it's guesswork, but I really did feel disrespected by the attitude of some of the staff I came into contact with.

My dog has an ACL tear and a luxating patella. During the examination, the vet was extremely rough with her. My dog is extremely sweet and calm but the way he yanked her leg around was horrific. I find that after the visit to Atlas, my dog's leg was worse than when we came in. Took her to another clinic for the surgery even if it costs a few hundred dollars more. Absolutely do not trust this vet. Would not leave my dog overnight there for anything.

We are not affiliated with this clinic. We have used it since 1999, and recent minor surgery June 2012 for our old standard poodle. Dr. Bhullar provided excellent surgical care and good communication with us. We could not afford to have pets if we had to rely on the local vets. We travel a few hours to get to Atlas in Vancouver and it is worth it. We think the other vets try to shut him down because Atlas charges significantly less. All the vets we have seen there have been excellent and knowledgeable. They have never recommended unnecessary procedures. The reception and front end are not impressive, but medical care is good. We stay the entire time our dog is being treated. It can be a busy place and we want our dog in our care as soon as possible.

I visited this place couple times. To be honest, if you are just looking for a regular injection, then i would suggest their price is lower. But, if your pet is really sick, then dun bring it here. I brought my cat in cuz my vet are fully booked, and i wanted to save money for not goin to emergency. Atlas asked to keep my ca overnight and do blood test and xray, which is fine, but they didn't call me for result in the next morning either..when i called in, they insisted to hold my car for another day! I don't think its reasonable, so i went to pick up my cat to transfer to my own vet. When i arrived, they were planning to do a c section on him...i refused..and brought my cat to my own vet, ended up my own vet said we can still wait and there is another way of doing it instead of surgery! I really regret i brought my cat there at first! His fur is all soaked with smell and he is really dirty! I am really upset about their services there..SO IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, DON'T BRING HIM THERE

I had to take a cat for emergency c section. Middle of the night, the only reason I took her there was because it was a holiday and I simply could not afford emergency fees. I talked to the doctors and even though I notices the not so sanitary rooms etc - they were helpful, were with me all the way - the kitten stuck inside and mom was not able to give birth. I was with the cat all the time apart from the surgery itself, she woke up in my arms. The only concern I had was cleanliness, but the doctors were all professional with me. My kitty was given proper meds and while she did have hard recovery, it was definitely not because of the clinic. I understand the place smells funny but they were for me there and they listened, they let me stay with her, they even offered me tea ( i spent countless hours with them). I will definitely use them again in case I need emergency services.

have been taking my pets here since 2003! no regrets! to the comments about the exam room being dirty and what not..... really if you think about the number of pets coming and going unless they hired someone just to clean the rooms after ever pet left there will be some fur floating around! but for the me i would rather have my pet in the exam room asap rather then wait for someone to come sweep the floor. just my opinion

We brought our 9 week old kitten in for her first checkup and shots. as this is my first pet/kitten i was unsure how what to expect. after arriving in the examination room the doctor came in and didnt seem to fully understand what needed to be done. after telling us she needed blood work done, he took her into the back, where we heard horrible sounds come out of. after 15 minutes he brought her out and told us her blood work, shots and examination was done. her neck had been badly shaven, blood was all throughout her fur and she looked fairly shaken up. less then 36 hours later we found fleas on her, which they obviously didn't find. they didn't seem very caring and when i pay 140 bucks for service i expect at least a little compassion and care in handling a young kitten. Definitely a traumatizing first experience at the vet for our kitten as well as us! Not taking her back there ever.

I have had two bad experiences with this clinic. Silly me for going back - Never Again!! The front desk staff had no idea about prescription food. But most importantly, the vet was rough and uncaring about my pet(s). My dog had anal gland expression there which he usually has done at another vet but we thought we would try this cheaper vet clinic. You get what you pay for! My dog screamed and cried and he never did that before! They did not clean him up after either! My kitten was handled very roughly and the advice/diagnosis was suspect. My daughter took her dog there for neutering and his stitches were terrible and he had alot of pain afterward - something I've not seen with other neuterings. DON'T GO THERE!!!

I've been scared to visit this site to find out bad reviews. I wishe I knew earlier. My dog died on Tue.March 1st.2011 at 6 am. I saw him dying. I took him there for his cut under his paw. They asked me to leave him there. I kept calling and asking if he was doing fine. The liars told me he's even having fun with other dogs. I knew they were lying cause it took long time for him to get to play with other pets. They kept telling me that they would let me know if I could pick him up. Finally 2 days later, I went pick him up. The doctor asked me why I had left him there. I told him another doctor had asked me to leave him. 2 days later he got home, he left. I don't understand why this hospital still can exist. I can't forgive them and I can't forgive myself taking him there. I can't forgive myself waited for 2 days to pick him up.

STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE THE LIFE OF YOUR PET. I BROUGHT IN MY 9 YEAR OLD CAT FOR AN EAR CLEANING..PRETTY STANDARD THING DON'T YOU THINK. HIS LEFT EAR HAD POLYPS SO THEY TOOK HIM IN THE BACK ROOM (SO I COULD NOT SEE) TO CLEAN THE EARS. 1/2 LATER AND A BILL FOR $110.00 TOLD ME HE ALSO NEEDED EAR SURGERY TO REMOVE THE POLYPS $350.00 AND TEETH CLEANING $150.00, AND TOLD ME IT MUST BE DONE. AFTER I GOT HOME THE CAT HID IN THE NEXT ROOM OVERNITE, VERY UNUSUAL BEHAVIOUR FOR HIM. WHEN I FOUND HIM IN THE MORNING HE COULD NOT WALK, EAT OR DRINK AND WAS FROTHING AT THE MOUTH WITH THE MEDS HE GAVE ME. i WAS IN SHOCK AND THE CAT WAS TRAUMATIZED. I TOOK HIM TO ANOTHER VET AND THEY HAD PUNCTURED HIS EAR AND CUT ONE OF THE POLYPS, SO THERE WAS ALSO BLEEDING IN THE EAR. THIS VET TOLD ME NO SURGERY FOR THE EAR OR THE TEETH WAS REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. I ASKED ATLAS FOR A REFUND, NO WAY..BUT BRING YOUR CAT BACK IN FOR FURTHER OBSERVATION OR SHOULD I SAY $$$$..PLSE IF YOU CARE, DONT GO THERE!!

we took our dog here 3 months ago b/c she was vomiting & had diahera. Did IV and was better in 2 days. They took blood test but was told no problems with blood test. Took dog there again on Sunday with similar symptons. Last blood test okay they said again. Went to visit dog last night, she was weaker. was told that it takes dogs time to get better. went to visit today dog was limp and unresponsive. demanded to see vet, said attending vet not here, will get back to us to let us know status. 30 min later got phone call dog having siezures. 10 minute later another phone call - dog died. Was told after she died last blood test showed heart and liver problems. so this means they lied before??? Poor communication of pets condition to owners to make informed decisions. if i knew she was sick, could have done somthing else. i read the bad reviews before but didn't believe it. BELIEVE IT! THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE. THE MONEY YOU SAVE AT THIS VET IS NOT WORTH YOUR PET'S LIFE. RIP.

I have attended reg and supported this clinic for years until this week when my dog became very ill, throwing up and****ting blood. He had xrays and bloodwork done, and while the vet pointed out some obvious major problems, he only casually mentioned pancreatitis and did not request the 2ndary pancreatitis test that i noticed later was suggested on the lab work form. Neither did he prescribe any tx for pancreatititis. i took him home and tried to treat him for days on the meds that they gave me. It wasnt until another vet told me to get the specific P. test that i found out that he had it, that it was very painful, and that he had received no tx for it. After confirming P, starting proper tx for it and having no improvemnt in 24h i arranged a home euthenasia for him. The dr did not show up and the staff did not call to tell me it was cancelled. this am when i tried again to get a home euth the staff told me i'd need an appt 4 that. another vet is putting him down today at home.

Atlas' negligence is basically responsible for my cat's diabetes. I brought him in over a year ago for some tests, as he wasn't eating as much and was peeing a lot.. they did blood tests, said he was fine, so I trusted them. Steadily he lost weight - I went away on a trip and came home to see he was incredibly skinny. I immediately took him to Animal Wellness, had my records faxed over... the first thing the vet said to me was that based on the bloodwork it was obvious that he'd been having problems for a while. Atlas told me the bloodwork was fine - within seconds, another vet saw major red flags. Now my cat is diabetic and I will never take another pet to Atlas!

This is one of the worst pet hospital I have ever seen. Stay away from this Atlas Animal Hospital. I had my dog taken there to have the teeth clean. And guess what? When I picked up my dog the same day, they had pulled out 32 teeth from my poor dog! They did not even consult me before they did that. Besides from being heart broken for my poor dog, I had to pay a huge $600 bill for the "teeth extractions" and full price for the teeth cleaning How can they still charge me the full price for the teeth cleaning when they pull out 90% of the teeth, and only had to clean 10% of the teeth. This is pathetic! All the people there are rude, unprofessional, and I had a hard time understanding what they were saying because of the accent. Oh my god! Now my dog has only a few teeth left. The vet didn't even bother telling why he had to remove all his teeth. I feel so heart broken for my little furry friend. Please never go there if you love your pet. They're totally unprofessional & Negligence

It is really amazing reading these comments how widely varying the opinions are of this one facility. My wife and I have taken our Standard Poodle to Atlas about 5 times and have always been overall satisfied with the results. Our trips there from outside the city have saved us 2 to 3 thousand dollars in the last three years and that simple fact is the real root of Dr Bhullar's woes with the veterinary association in my opinion. They hate the competition. If Atlas were as expensive as other vets we would go somewhere else, because yes it is really busy and sometimes seems disorganized, but the results have always been good. Once my wife left our dog there all day and nothing had happened when she got back. We have adapted by waiting with our dog. We are semi-retired and have time but not a lot of money. It is well worth a few hours in a vet office to save hundreds of dollars. No one at Atlas has ever tried to talk us into expensive procedures.

Our daughter's dog had some cancer removed from his chest this summer. Our vet is in Delta. A tech sewed him up after the operation. 3 days later (Sunday AM)his stitches unraveled. Of course our vet was closed. Atlas took the dog in at 8 AM on Sunday - under general anesthetic they sewed him up knotting up each stitch plus put in a drain tube and a cone(not done at our vet) They gave him a shot which lasted 48 hours for pain and 10 days of antibiotics. We took him back 5 days later to have the drain tube removed and another 5 days later to have the stitches taken out. Our bill was $320 - a lot less than what our vet charged us and a fraction of what we would have had to pay had we gone to the West 4th Emergency Clinic. Animals are left in vet clinics all the time overnight after operations. Many of them are in distress or die during the night and there is no one there to tend to them. The vet assn. does not have a problem with these clinics. We feel this lawsuit is ALL ABOUT MONEY.

Ok the front staff lacks some people skills, but I'm not going there to be pampered, its all about my dog. Furthermore you can be assured not to get ripped off. I definitely recommend this clinic.

Very bad vet. Have always had bad vibes there. Most recently, they botched my dog's re-splinting with 2 re-splints in a 24 hour period. My dog had been wearing a splint seeming put on correctly by the lead doctor there a month ago. He was in no pain during that month's time. Upon the 2 re-splints, he was in obvious agony both times. Their solution was pain killers. I didn't understand why he would be in so much pain after having worn a splint for a month. Took him to other vet and found the wrong splint employed and put on incorrectly to boot. They sorted me out by sending me to the SPCA who had the correct splint and also found an ear infection as well. Level of service was night and day. I don't know what Atlas is really. They just seem to cut corners and do not care. Avoid it if you love your pet.

I took my cat in for a deep puncture wound near his flank that was close to his intestines. He had other injuries, so they kept him for surgery to stitch him up. When I picked him up, they neglected to treat the most serious injury near his intestines. Further, they tried to charge me for bloodwork which I never authorized, and which wasn't needed. The Dr. that dis the surgery was all full of "Sorry" but it just doesn't cut it. The front desk woman was rude and curt. If you value your pet DO NOT take it here. They are negligent and incompetent and uncaring for pets and their owners. BEWARE!

The receptionists are all rude. I was on hold for 15 mins while they were "looking" for my file. Then they just hung up on me without telling me anything! I had to call back to find out! They told me they lost my file that I had with them for SIX years. The vet that was on duty told me to go back next day because that's when Dr. Bhullar's in and apparently, "the boss can get everyone to look for your file because I can't find it now". I told him that I see a stack of files on his desk and asked if he went through them, and he said no. Lastly, my cat was diagnosed with a viral eye infection, and they kept her there overnight and told me to pick her up in two days. When I got there, they told me they had to keep her for "one more day". SHE ENDED UP STAYING FOR A WEEK. They had her blood work done for no reason. They over-medicated as well; my cat has diarrhea. Don't bother bringing your pets here. It's a waste of your time and money. And your pets will just end up with unnecessary pain.

Good, all purpose vet clinic. I found them professional.Staff on front desk changes a lot, and not always knowledgeable but vets are ok, particularly Dr. Jagpal the owner, who speaks very good english. Low cost compared to many vets, some tradeoff in efficiency and followup. You may have to initiate questions, and followup. They are often very busy with work for rescue groups as well. Overall, a decent clinic, but stay on top of all treatments, symptoms etc. and make sure you get answers you need. You do sacrifice a bit for the $$ savings.

i agree...people like this vet cause it's cheap...you do get what you pay for..they try to push treatments on you and confuse you..as well the one vet who helped me was an idiot and I also could not understand what he was saying...not only because of his accent, that did not bother me, it was his lack of confidence with my dog!! he didn't even lube the thermometer and was even scared to deal with my puppy. He was an unexperienced vet...needless to say I complained and got to talk to the head vet who happens to be the owner...he was better but spoke to me in a condescending manner probably cause the other vet said i was being unreasonable when I complained. Anyways I am not going to go into all the specifics but I will say DO NOT GO HERE. it is not worth the cheap price...if you love your animal do not bring them here.

Since employing so many new vets and techs, they've gone downhill. The only one there I'd trust seeing is Dr. Bhullar. If you're not getting him, maybe consider walking out the door and finding another vet. Been taking cats and dogs to them for years. But after last visit when my cat was feeling under the weather, I got the biggest scare ever. She was treated by the other vet(s). Got a call after drop off to say that when they were putting her on I/V and getting her blood sample, she went into seizure. NEVER happened before. After leaving her overnight for more tests to check for liver/kidney problems because of her reaction & xray showing an abnormally shaped kidney, it was still just got the usual clavamox prescribed. Her "oddly shaped kidney" apparently wasn't a problem since it's still working. Was told it can be caused by many things "radiation exposure, maybe birth, maybe diet" but still functioning... vague answers after over $300 of tests later that THEY recommended.

We have dealt with Atlas since they opened, our pets were well cared for. Dr. Bhullar is the best vet I have gone to and I would recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a good Vet. The clinic is very busy, sometimes you have to wait. When a place is open until midnight and people are coming in with emergencies they still try to get to everyone as quickly as possible without compromising the treatment of any other patient. And you can't beat the prices. Over the years we have tried other Vets to make sure we are getting the best care. The other Vets have been competent, caring and extremely expensive. In the end we always go back to Dr. Bhullar.

Went once only,... I've rescued animals for yrs., .. trapping/fixing, rehabilitating, etc.Took a rescued dog in for neutering (very routine, since I use to work for a vet and could prob. neuter myself with proper equip.)Dog was in excruciating pain for days afterwds.!V.unusual, screaming, carrying on, etc. Also gaggingly smelt strongly of cat urine in entire waiting room. Plus waited over 1 1/2 hrs. to see him,.. he was late on appt. time, due to "personal probs." Believe he lets unlic. intern vets to do the fixing on pets. Came fr. outa town, was a waste of gas and unnecessary pain for poor dog!

On of the hardest Dr's to see because we all love him so much for the work that he does. But he is worth the wait to get an appointment with. The other Dr's are good to. I really like that young one Dr Gill I think his name is. He sits and talks with you and explains everything in detail about what is going on with my dog. He diagnosed a heart condition that 2 other vets missed!!!! So tell me who's the bad place? The one that never really examined my dog and just vaccinated or the one that heard the murmur and did further testing to find out what is wrong! The girls there can be a little difficult, but if you speak with the main girl, a heavy set girl she is easy going and cares for your pet. So I say YES!!!! To taking your pets there, they aren't aren't the money, they just want to help you take care of your pet. A Loyal Atlas Fan Karen.

As a professional breeder of red and apricot standard poodles, I've lived and worked with dogs my whole life. I've known Dr. B and his staff since he opened his first clinic in 1996. He is kind, compassionate, incredibly knowlegable in his diagnosis and a "REAL" down to earth practical doctor who often chooses a "let's wait and see" attitude over prescribing numerous medications unnecessarily. I love his honest, open approach and know that I am alway welcome and my questions are answered with integrity and NOT the desire to "upsell" by insisting we need services such as x-rays or bloodwork that may not be required. My bill is ALWAYS beyond reasonable and I HIGHLY recommend him to ALL our clients. One of the hardest decisions for us in 2003 when we made the move to Ontario was leaving Atlas. Now, in situations that require surgery, I FLY my dogs BACK to Vancouver where I know without a doubt they will receive the very best of care.Heather Pendragon www.pendragonpoodles.com

I was ready to put my cat to sleep at 8 1/2 yrs old because for a year another vet couldn't find what the problem was. I was just about ready to give up hope when somebody suggested Dr. Bhullar. He diagnosed the problem. She was put to sleep at 18 1/2 yrs old. Because of Dr. Bhullar she got 10 more good years. I rescued a dog at 2. He was given up so many times because no one could deal with his skin condition. Dr. Bhullar diagnosed and treated. He got many, many good years because of this vet. He was a very happy dog. He was eventually put to sleep because of cancer (which no one could foresee). Right up to the end he had a healthy appetite and was wagging his tail. Dr. Bhullar is very knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. I wouldn't entrust my pets to anyone else. I have recommended many people to Atlas and all have been happy. His staff are friendly, courteous, and his prices are great. He doesn't gouge; it's a low-cost clinic. I would highly recommend Atlas.

cheap and dirty, I mean the examination room is really dirty, equipment not working, I saw puke from another animal on the floor. Vet did not explain or discuss options of treatment. Will not go back.
