Also, have aides that have never held them assisting them. I found this our to late with an emergency for my reptile. TRusted them due to advertisement and receptionist answering phone. The doctros do not have any certification for reptiles. RID: 46928

Click to report rating    10/4/12   1     3     3     3   We are a VERY disappointed Nurse & Professional firefighter with 8 VERY loved pets (4 cats & 4 dogs including rescues). We volunteer for most local shelters (intensive cases only). TRUST US, DO NOT take your pets to THE Highlands/especially NOT DR. CAROL A. OSE-DIEHL (Owner of The Highlands, per her staff). There are SO many Vets to choose from, PLEASE don't put your loved pets into her hands. OUR puppy was choking & she would NOT come out to even look at her until we agreed to fee for office visit/xray etc. Our puppy could have aspirated & died. WE have heard that Fredon Vet. Hospital is great! RID: 37641

Click to report rating    10/15/11   5     5     5     4   I love Dr. Carol - she has been taking care of my dogs since 1994. She is very kind & very knowledgeable. When I had temporarily transferred to a vet closer to home so I wouldn't stress out my nervous dog with a 30-minute ride to Sparta, they missed that my dog had diabetes. Dr. Carol redid some testing & diagnosed it immediately. What a relief for all of us! She always explains procedures & diagnostic tests throughly & is very reassuring, even when we had to put my newly-adopted dog through grueling heartworm treatment. From what I have seen, the staff is very good, too. RID: 28325
Click to report rating    9/6/07   5     5     3     5   I have trusted this hospital with all my pets lives. I have used them since 1994 and wouldn't go anywhere else. I have found that the staff and veterinarians at the Highlands are extremely competant, compassionate and first rate. I have never had a problem with diagnosis or cure. They are very reasonable in the price department. And I feel they are worth every penny. The only thing that could improve is the wait time- sometimes you have to wait quite a bit to see the vet- but I think that's because they care so much. RID: 5842
Click to report rating    4/7/07   1     1     1     1   The diagnosis was lyme diease, then crutiate ligament.---Went to a specialist they were WRONG. Try bone cancer! The specialist said anyone with a half of a brain in this field should have know that, just by looking at the films. Unfortuanely we had to go back and have hime put to sleep. That was nother nightmare!--Try one hour of putting my dog to sleep!!!They will get theirs. I called on Monday morning to make appointment to have my dog ethinized that evening. We go my husband waited outside, until the time was ready. This is how they follow procedure. They lead you into a room made you wait, gave the vet the films (the tumor grew from a pea to a oragne in 3 weeks)the vet comes out and asked if I was sure I wanted to do this and we could amputate. I said to her I discussed this with the specialist, he mentioned it but it might not do anygood. Please realize this was a 160lb Great Pyrenees-3 years old. The out come was 50/50, the dog would have to be crated all the time for a RID: 3337
