I'm in complete and utter agony over what this terrible clinic did to my kitten. I'm taking legal action, so I can not post specifics but I had to remove my kitten from their care which as soon as I got to another hospital, he had to be euthanized. Sever neglect, things so unspeakable I vomited all over myself. All preventable, all extremely unnecessary, and horrific. The pictures are literally like from a horror film. I will take action against Reed and everyone who came into contact with my helpless kitten. The look on that babys face, the torture and suffering he went through will not go unheard. If it takes me everything I have. Do not take your pet there, unless you want them to suffer and die.

Old school medicine. Heartworm treatment is not reliable as well as the results. Cages and boarding facilities are dirty. Price are ok for the bad service you get. Front desk staff are terrible, rude and unprofessional. Dr Reed is a very nice person but old school medicine

The front desk staff are extremely rude and uneducated. There's just no excuse for their behavior and if you work for a vet, you should take the time to learn about your job. The clinic smells VERY bad. I suppose if you weren't familiar with better vets, you'd think this place was great. The care is awful. Appointments and surgeries are so overbooked that the quality of care is compromised. My kitten was spayed, they either lied about when the surgery was performed or she was SERIOUSLY over-medicated. Had to make an ER run to another vet to stabilize my kitten. Try the Ark of the Dunes Animal Hospital if you must stay in Chesterton. The doctors there are top rate and the staff is friendly, caring & well educated. If you care about your animals at all, do NOT take them to Westchester.

Dr. Reed and his staff are wonderful. His prices are reasonable. I know people who drive miles to go to him. He draws on his many years of experience to diagnose patients, as well as using tests. He is very, very compassionate and helpful. He offers an attitude adjustment shot for animals with behavior issues that often lead to euthanization/owner giving up to kill shelter. Few vets offer this. Dr. Reed is an angel. Although you sometimes have to wait for an appointment it is because so many want to go to this clinic and because he does spend quality time with each patient. He also will fit in emergencies to save lives. Any vet can lose an animal that has complications/illnesses that are not treatable. People die from routine treatments in hospitals too sometimes. You don't know how the human/animal body will respond to surgery/meds in spite of tests. Dr. Reed is an excellent vet who is good with animals as well as nice to his clients.

The staff & the Doc are VERY WONDEFUL! I plan to continue to take my cats there. He is very caring & the prices are very resonable. They do have a hard time keeping the apointments on time BUT that is because they have SOOO many animals that visit their clinic. When I took my cat there for the first time I can remember seeing A LOT of people in the office either with their pets for some reason or picking their animals up. My daughter was also with me & was VERY entertained by playing near the chickens & roosters they have.

I have had some serious complications with dogs that have had surgery at this facility. Dr. Reed is a very nice person and seems to care about the animals, but his front desk staff is deplorable. Truly rude and not very bright. All records are kept by hand, so it can be difficult to get vaccination records, if needed. Services and medications are very reasonably priced.

The only reason I give the punctuality a lower score is because of the patient volume, your appointment MAY run late, but rest assured the dr. spends just as much QUALITY time caring for your animal and talking to you. They are currently building a new building to expand because of the amount of patients! It is a wonderful place and staff!!! I as well as my mom have taken our animals there for years, they've got experience with everything from dogs and cats to alligators and mountain lions!!! They even have a pet alligator at the clinic! Wonderful vet, fair priced and great staff especially the doctor.
