After 10 years of loyalty, I have decided to try the new vet up the street from Canyon Animal Hospital. Rumor has it Dr. G recently purchased the hospital from Dr. Hamil, and I've noticed the quality going down, while prices went up. If you are going to try this place out, demand a price quote before anything is done to your animal, ESPECIALLY with Dr. G. Dr. Hamil would treat all animals kindly, no matter how much money their owners had, while Dr. G seems to be the opposite. Dr. Alcala is a sweetheart, but only works part time these days. And Dr. Brower will make a great vet someday, but is still so young and new. Best of luck to this place, it would be sad to see it go after 30+ years of being around.

Drs. Hamil, G and Alcala are the best and the staff is caring, compassionate and love their patients. I feel incredibly fortunate to live so close to such a great vet office.

I used to work at this hospital and i loved it. Dr.Hamil will forever be my mentor. I think that he is absolutely brilliant. Dr.G is very up to date in all current veterinary medicine, and Dr.Alcala has the best bed-side manor i have ever seen. The staff always was very efficient, even when it was insanely busy. This hospital got more business than i have ever seen. i would recommend taking any pet there for care. You will leave there feeling comfortable and satisfied with medical advice and love. Trust me, try it out.

I do not know what this other person is talking about. The staff is unbelievable. They are caring and concerned at all times. The atmosphere in this hospital is family oriented and children are always invited and encouraged to be involved.

Dr. John Hamil is an outstanding, compassionate vet. The rest of his staff, sadly are not. I left the clinic because my appointments were ALWAYS interrupted, patient charts are kept in the bathroom, staff is rough with my animals, and during an appointment, I have been asked to wait in the hallway because they needed the exam room for someone else. Dr. "G" refused to belive a medical problem was wrong with my dog when I had other vets saying she had all the symptoms of a condition and would benefit from a trial period of medication. I have NEVER before had to fight so hard with a vet for my dogs' care, and will never again. My vet is supposed to be my team-mate in my dogs' care, not a challenger. I will never get over the wasted months battling Dr. "G", while my just previously healthy dog became so rapidly sick that Dr. "G" was telling me there wasn't much he could do. That dog never deserved such treatment from a reported care giver.
