I brought my dog in today because she had been vomiting blood and had rectal bleeding. We were very worried and did some research on the meds and found that they are to be used for a short term, my dog was on them for 3 months. If chronic usage was needed it needed to be followed up with blood tests which were never done.
The doctor in charge of our pet was dr. May, today she was not in we had to deal with dr. Liz.
I asked her about the meds and the issues and she ran some tests, ultrasound, and provided fluids. Instead of accepting the issue she diverted into pancreatitis, a uneducated guess. The blood work was showing heavy Increase in liver enzymes which was a Indicator of liver disease which falls In line with side effects of the meds. She didn't accept it & said she needed a plasma transfusion, we tried but were forced a 5000 bill which we could not afford and had to put her down. Since they didn't see the root cause they created and we couldn't afford we lost a family member
