Click to report rating    5/21/10   2     2     2     1   Eight years I've patronized this practice. Never once have I seen Dr. Walker. My Dog was diagnosed with diabetes mellitis April of 2010. Contrary to FDA warnings about the insulin Vetsulin, our pet was placed on it. Plain and simple we were deceived and our pets health could have been compromised. When I asked for a prescription for human insulin I was refused. Never ever, would I recommend this practice. The unstableness of Vetsulin was known as far back as Nov 09. RID: 18059
Click to report rating    3/18/10   3     3     3     2   Took my 12-lb. cockapoo in for routine teeth cleaning and 1 tooth extraction. Dr. Bliss-Love broke my dog's jaw, wiring the pieces together. Dr. Walker has not been there in the past five years when I've taken my dogs in. When I first started going there, he was around and caring for the animals, and he did a good job on my pets. However, now that he's a big shot at the Iditarod each year, he apparently just palms the work off on new vets and collects the money for his trips. I'd still be taking my dogs there if he were caring for them, but I fear the new doctors he keeps bringing in might kill my dogs as they did a friend's dog during a routine surgery. Sad to say, but I don't trust the constant turnover of vets at this place. RID: 17100
Click to report rating    12/2/09   5     5     5     5   Dr Walker treated my australian shepherd Tori the last 3wks of her life. We ran every possible test available and still could not find out what was going on with her. He was so caring and devoted to her! When she passed away at home I took her body in the next day and he did a necrospy to figure out what was wrong and found the mass. He did not charge me for the necropsy or the disposal of her body. He also let me pay the balance off in two payments. He is very caring and easy to talk to. He also respects my wishes of not taking my animals in the back without me. Not many vets will are so understanding. He has never ordered any tests that were not agreed upon by me. I hate that other vets have done that to me in the past. I have been going to Dr. Walker since 1998 and will continue to do so!!! Tammy Cease RID: 15543
Click to report rating    4/23/07   1     1     1     1   Doctor Walker "treated" my 18-year-old cat and overcharged for tests and medication. He charged me for boarding for the day without advising me there was a charge. He made me buy a 60 day supply of vitamin supplements that my cat didn't even digest.(she threw up both pills I gave her) And my cat died after the third day. It is my opinion that the doctor took advantage of my concern for my beloved pet even though I am a senior citizen and shared with him that I am on a fixed income. As a professional he should have been up front and advised me that there was no hope. RID: 3603
