Click to report rating    4/23/09   1     1     1     1   I have a five month old yorkie and I find that the wait time is terrible, especially for such a young animal; he gets hungry and fussy after awhile. I find that that is only 1/3 of the problem, upon my last visit my puppy received his first set of booster shots and I found that the lady who handled him was not only rough but also ill tempered. She cut my puppy's nails wrongly; i knew it was wrong because I had his nails cut previously at another facility where I was shown what to do. Also, she administered his shots before cutting his nails so that when she had to hold him down to get his nails cut (this is after already hurting him) she seemed to have injured him more by placing her hands over the area where he had received his shots. I think there should be people specifically focused on grooming, not the vet. Needless to say I was dissappointed in the treatment of my puppy and when I voiced my concern the vet on duty responded by asking me to let them handle my puppy privately i RID: 12542
Click to report rating    3/19/09   4     4     5     5   The Doctors here are the best!!!! Especially Drs. Valdes, Dembitsky, Ueda and Mehlrose. They are kind, caring and more than willing to answer any and all of your questions. If you have a bird Dr. Mehlrose is your guy! And when it comes to orthapedic surgery you cant go wrong with dr valdes! RID: 12164
Click to report rating    1/23/08   3     4     2     3   Insist on being seen by Dr. Valdes, Dr. Dembitsky & Dr. Ueda. They are very knowledgeable and gentle. Dr. Halpern however is very rough and has awful bedside manner. For 8 yrs. I took my dogs to Lefferts and had satisfactory if not great treatments from Dr. Valdes & others. That was until my puppy was seen by Dr. Halpern (the owner). My puppy had blood in her stool and when I brought her in Dr. Halpern was very arrogant and seemed to be annoyed that I was asking too many questions. After looking over my new pup for 5 min. Dr. Halpern stuck a long Qtip (twice the size of a household swab) up the rectum of my puppy WITHOUT ANY LUBRICATION! Of course the 12 week old puppy started letting out a heartbreaking long yelp and whimper. As he took out the long swab it was drenched in blood. Even then Dr. Halpern acted as if I was was wasting his time. I have since then decided to look for another clinic for my dogs. Oh and the wait time on average a bit over one hour WITH an appointment. RID: 7070
Click to report rating    4/26/07   3     4     4     4   One of the vets had a great "bedside manner" w/my cat; another one wasn't so great w/my 2nd cat. However, in general I like this place, & from talking to other pet owners in the waiting room I know that they offer good after-hours service & are really kind & understanding to stressed pet families!
